Chris Ferguson Wins Fourth Jack Starrette Memorial
Show Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway Up Next

Mt. Holly, North Carolina (05/20/19) – Saturday night at South Carolina’s Modoc Raceway found Chris Ferguson streaking to the fourth Jack Starrette Memorial triumph of his career. He picked up a $5,022 payday for his efforts in his Diff-Tran Machining #22 K and K Trucking/ Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The victory was his second of the 2019 campaign.

“Even with the bad luck of having a flat tire while leading on Friday night at Carolina Speedway, this was the kind of weekend that our team needed,” Ferguson commented. “We had a great car all weekend, and then to win the race in memory of Jack [Starrette] for the fourth time just means so much. He was a guy that gave me a great opportunity early in my career, and he’ll always have a special place in my heart.

“Now, we are gearing up to head out to the Show Me 100 for the first time. This is something we’ve been wanting to do for several years, and this will be a nice measuring stick of where we are at with our program right now.”

Friday night found Chris Ferguson in action at Carolina Speedway (Gastonia, North Carolina), where he was competing in a field of 25 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series entries. Laying down the fastest time in qualifying, Ferguson locked into the pole position for the opening night feature.

After jumping out to a comfortable lead, Chris suffered a flat right-rear tire on lap-14 that sent him into the hot pit. Joining the field from the tail, Chris Ferguson wheeled his way back to a runner-up finish behind Trent Ivey with Dennis Franklin, Daulton Wilson, and Brett Hamm rounding out the Top-5.

The following night took the team to Modoc Raceway (Modoc, South Carolina) for the Ultimate Southeast Series sanctioned, Jack Starrette Memorial. Via preliminary action Chris earned the 10th-starting spot for the 50-lap feature.

Despite starting deep in the pack Ferguson progressively worked his way forward in the field before slipping past Johnny Pursley on lap-37 for the top spot. He went on to lead the remainder of the 50 lapper to register his second win of the season. Casey Roberts, Dennis Franklin, and Ben Watkins completed the Top-5 finishers. He pocketed a $5,022 payday for his performance.

Donald McIntosh Enjoys Two-Win Weekend
Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Tripleheader On Deck

Dawsonville, Georgia (05/20/19) – Donald McIntosh enjoyed a great weekend behind the wheel of his Blount Motorsports No. 7 Ole Ben Franklin Motors/ Stowers Cat/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model. He raced to a pair of wins and added an additional Top-10 finish in Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series action.

The two wins pushed his 2019-win tally to three.

“I don’t really know where to start, but what an amazing weekend for our team,” McIntosh said. “To win the first two nights, and then put ourselves in contention to win the third night, before having the flat, is pretty special. It’s even more special that multiple teams came over to help change the flat and that respect means a lot to me!

“We’re focused on the final three series’ races this weekend. We know it’s going to be a tall feat to overtake Dale [McDowell] for the championship, but we are going to give it our absolute best shot.”

The Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series kicked off the three-day stretch on Thursday evening at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, North Carolina) with a $4,000-to-win program. In a field of 14 cars, Donald McIntosh registered the fastest time in his qualifying group, which positioned him on the pole for the A-Main. Leading flag-to-flag, Donald cruised to his second win of the season, which came over Dale McDowell, Casey Roberts, Kenny Collins, and Jamie Oliver.

The following night at Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee), McIntosh came in second fastest in his qualifying group behind Ross Bailes, earning him the third-starting position for the A-Main. Overtaking the lead from Dale McDowell after he suffered a flat-tire, Donald soared to third win of the season in the 40-lapper to capture the $4,000 prize. Dakotah Knuckles, Robby Moses, Tanner English and Ross Bailes trailed him to the checkers.

Saturday brought 20 Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals Series competitors to Thunderhill Raceway (Summertown, Tennessee) for the $10,000-to-win finale. Starting the night off with a heat race victory, McIntosh locked into the outside-front-row, starting position for the finale. Suffering a flat right-rear tire on lap 40, Donald battled back to a ninth-place finish in the remaining ten circuits.

Following his two-win weekend, Donald currently sits just 18 points behind Dale McDowell for the lead in the Spring Nationals point standings. For more information on this event, please visit www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com .
