Chris Ferguson Lands First LOLMDS Victory

Mt. Holly, North Carolina (07/11/17) – After several years of coming painfully close to landing his first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) victory, Chris Ferguson finally got over the hump on Thursday night at Fayetteville Motor Speedway. The popular $10,000 victory came aboard his Diff-Tran Machining #22 K&K Trucking/ Rocket Chassis XR1/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“This is awesome,” said Ferguson. “It’s taken a lot to win one of these (Lucas Oil shows). I’ve had so many chances and none go my way, especially like in ’09 when we sat on the pole here at Fayetteville and ran second or third.

“This is redemption for all the races I’ve lost here at Fayetteville. I’ve lost a lot more leading than I have won.”

Making his first start of the season with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Chris Ferguson visited Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina) on Thursday night for the Wayne Gray Memorial. After timing in fastest overall in a field of 25 cars, Ferguson cruised to a 10-lap, heat race win locking him into the pole position for the feature.

Jumping into the lead at the drop of the green flag, Chris held control of the top spot for the entire distance of the 50-lap A-Main, picking up his third win of the season and first-career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory. Pocketing a $10,000 payday, Chris Ferguson topped Gregg Satterlee, G.R. Smith, Josh Richards, and Steve Francis at the finish line.

The following night with 29 LOLMDS competitors signed in at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina) for the 19th annual Grassy Smith Memorial, Chris started the night off again with a 10-lap heat race win, locking him into the 3rd-starting position for the feature. With $10,000 on the line, Ferguson brought out a caution on lap-19, when mechanical gremlins struck while running in the 3rd position. His night would come to an early end in the 19th-position.

Complete results from these events can be found at www.LucasDirt.com .

Chris has his sights set on another $10,000 payday this Saturday as he makes the trek to Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) to compete with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals. For more information on the event, please visit www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com .

Logan Roberson Rebounds from Wreckers to Checkers

Waynesboro, Virginia (07/11/17) – Logan Roberson’s weekend couldn’t have started much worse. He sustained heavy damage on the front end of his Wynbridge Inc. #17 Rocketman Racing/ XR1 Rocket Chassis Crate Late Model on Friday night at Path Valley Speedway. However, the team didn’t give up, and their relentlessness would result in a victory on Saturday night at Winchester Speedway.

“It’s amazing to be so incredibly low on Friday night, and then be standing in Victory Lane on Saturday night,” the 19-year-old Roberson said. “I have to thank my team for working their tails off to get the car repaired. I also have to give a major shout out to Roy Anderson of ARC Racecars for opening his shop to us. Without his help there is no way we could’ve made repairs in time for Saturday night.”

Making his first start of the season at Path Valley Speedway (Spring Run, Pennsylvania), Logan Roberson took part in the RUSH Crate Late Model event on Friday evening. After challenging for the lead early in the feature, Roberson caught the infield berm in the corner and folded the nose underneath the car, forcing him pitside.

On Saturday night – after the crew worked tirelessly to get the car back in shape – Roberson headed to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) battling in a field of 17 Crate Late Models. Following the third-fastest time in qualifying, Logan outran the field in the feature picking up his sixth win of the season over Transtan Stoner, Allen Brannon, Levi Crowl, and Mike Franklin.

For full results from these events, please visit www.PathValley.com and www.RushLateModels.com .

This weekend – July 14-15 – will find Roberson in familiar territory. On Friday night he will compete at Potomac Speedway (Budd’s Creek, Maryland) before once again racing at Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Virginia) on Saturday evening.
