Josh Richards Records Podium Finish in Clash at The Mag
Team Prepares for Busy Upcoming LOLMDS Slate

St. Marys, Ohio (06/20/18) – Josh Richards led over half of the 100-lap, Clash at the Mag finale before ultimately finishing third on Saturday evening in his Bulk Material Lift #1 Colt/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We had a really good car tonight, and it felt good in the open track, but I think with as much as the track was changing tonight, we were at a bit of a disadvantage being out front for most of the race. When you’re out there by yourself, you don’t know exactly how the grooves are changing for the guys running behind you and that kind of makes you a sitting duck,” Richards said. “Then, Tim McCreadie and I got together with like 10 laps remaining and it cut a tire. In fact, our left rear was flat when we crossed the finish line. It’s disappointing not to win, but after the bad luck we’ve been having this was a much-needed shot in the arm for our team.”

He concluding by saying, “The Lucas Oil schedule is about to get really hectic so it’s nice to know that we’re making some big-time gains with our program.”

The team resumed action with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend with a trip south to Johnny Stokes' Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) for the annual Clash at The Mag.

Preliminary action for the $20,000-to-win event was contested on Friday night, and Richards rocketed to a convincing heat race win to lock into the pole position for Saturday's 100-lap finale.

As the 100-lap race went green on Saturday evening Josh assumed the second position behind Jimmy Owens. He would slip back to as far as fourth before charging to the lead on lap 27. He led the field until lap 84, when Tim McCreadie slipped past. Richards regained the lead one circuit later, and the pair swapped the top spot a few times before Richards retook control on lap 88, but not before the pair made slight contact.

It looked like Josh might be on his way to his third win of the year, but Hudson O'Neal would slip past on lap 94 to take control of the top spot. One lap later Bobby Pierce jumped to second, which pushed Richards back to third. That's where the West Virginia racer would finish with a rear tire that went flat as he crossed the finish line. Scott Bloomquist and Tim McCreadie rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Josh is currently third in the latest LOLMDS points. For full results from the weekend as well as the latest series standings, please visit www.LucasDirt.com .

The Best Performance Motorsports team will be idle this weekend as they prepare for a busy Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) schedule. They will return to action on June 30 in a $12,000-to-win LOLMDS event at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio).

“Anytime that you start on the pole and don’t win, it’s obviously a little bit of a letdown, but honestly we can’t complain about our weekend at Cedar Lake Speedway,” Ramirez said. “Thursday night wasn’t the greatest, but Friday night went really well, and we were a contender throughout the finale on Saturday night. Preston Seratt Finishes Second in Magnolia Photo Finish
Big 10 Action at Camden Speedway Up Next

Dyersburg, Tennessee (06/20/18) – After leading the first 29 laps of the Mississippi Street Stock Series feature at Magnolia Motor Speedway, Preston Seratt came up a few inches short of a $2,000 payday on Saturday night in his J&P Machine & Repair #29 Lowery’s Body Shop & Wrecker Service Street Stock.

“Man I’ve replayed it a thousand times in my head, and I’m just not sure what I could’ve differently to get the win,” Seratt noted. “We led all but the most important lap. I know that (Justin) McRee had a better car than me over the second half of the race, and I was able to keep him behind me until the white flag lap. Seems like it always comes down to me and him at Magnolia. Hopefully next time, I’m the one getting the win.”

Friday night found Preston Seratt in action at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), where he took part in preliminary action for the two-day Clash at the Mag. In a field of 25 Mississippi Street Sock Series (MSSS) entries, Seratt followed up the fastest time overall in qualifying with a heat race victory.

Earning the pole position for the $2,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday night, Preston led the first 29 laps before Justin McRee pulled even with him on the white flag lap as the pair rocketed down the backstretch. McRee would win the drag race back to the checkered flag in a near photo finish with Seratt. Johnny Stokes, Bryan Fortner, and Lee Ray completing the Top-5 finishers.

For full results from this event, please visit www.MagnoliaDirt.com .

Preston is currently busy building a new house and race shop, so he’ll be out of action on July 21, when he returns to action with the Mid-South Big 10 Street Stock Series. The tour will sanction a $1,000-to-win event at Camden Speedway (Camden, Tennessee).

Herrera Bringing Fresh Setup To 47th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup

Bryan Hulbert - ALGER, Wash. (June 20, 2018) Following a rough Speedweek, Johnny Herrera is determined to get to the front of the field as the Mesilla Valley Transportation No. 45x team rolls to the 47th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway this weekend.

"Speedweek was terrible. We tried everything we could think to throw at the car and

nothing worked so we're bringing a new car to Dirt Cup," explained Herrera who is fifth in tour standings. "We've changed everything but the frame at this point, so we're just going to bring the spare car down and start over; frame, engine, everything."

Taking on Devi's Bowl Speedway on Tuesday, June 12, Johnny found himself having to fight through the B-Feature. Finishing second, the driver of the No. 45x moved from 18th to 14th. Moving to Lawton Speedway the following night, Johnny grabbed a seventh-place finish.

Again, having to come out of a B-Feature Thursday, June 14 at Creek County Speedway, Johnny was just shy of a top-ten with a run from 17th to 11th. Wrapping up at Salina Speedway, the night ended with a DNF as the top-wing came undone.

Heading into three-night of racing that fires off on Thursday, June 21, the $15,000 to win affair brings a plethora of talent to the Pacific Northwest. Finishing fifth in 2016, Herrera knows how to get around the three-tenths-mile oval.

"Skagit is a fun track, I've always enjoyed racing there. We're looking forward to getting back up to Washington to see what we can do with the new setup. I'd like to think I haven't forgotten how to drive a Sprint Car, and really, it's not that we've been terrible all year, we just haven't the consistency we normally have."

The 2018 season marks the 34th year of racing for Johnny Herrera which includes over 140 victories in various forms of Sprint Car competition. For more information, and to keep in touch with the man called "Hollywood", log onto to http://www.johnnyherreraracing.com.

Hahn Heads For Dirt Cup Following Career Best ASCS Speedweek

Bryan Hulbert - SAPULPA, Okla. (June 20, 2018) Finishing second in overall standings for the 2018 ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek, Blake Hahn is looking to keep the momentum going as the Griffith Truck and Equipment No. 52 heads for the 47th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup.

"Skagit is one of my favorite tracks. I've been looking forward to Dirt Cup all year. We've had really good runs the past two years and the way we've been running, I feel really good going in this year."

On a roll through the 2018 ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek, Hahn is in the hunt for the point's lead. Moving from fifth in tour standings to a tie for second with Seth Bergman, the pair trail Sam Hafertepe, Jr. by 10 points.

"Speedweek was good this year. We ended up swapping our main car for the backup and that made a huge difference," explained Hahn. "We'd been fighting the car for a while and went through everything but the frame itself, so we just decided before we got to Devil's Bowl to swap our JR1's and it was fast out of the box. Jerry Russell makes an awesome car, just had one with an attitude."

On the podium three nights in a row through Devil's Bowl, Lawton, and Creek County, the week ended with a seventh-place finish at Salina Speedway.

"Our draws have been really good lately, so that has helped a lot. I felt like we were consistent at Devil's Bowl. The track was around the top, so it was tough to pass for the most part. Lawton kind of did the same thing, but you could still slide and move around if you needed to," explained Hahn of his visits to the Edwards owned ovals.

"Creek was as good as you could ask for. The Heats were a little narrow, but they had it where you could run just about anywhere through the feature which was great having to start 11th."

Starting 13th at Salina Speedway, Hahn was able to pick his way forward on the windswept oval.

"The wind made things really interesting at Salina. It was really easy to get pushed up the track in three and four, so you had to lock the car down early or you'd slide off the track, which is where we were able to get a lot of our track position."

Racing three night's this week, the 47th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup takes place June 21, 22, and 23.

The 2018 season is Blake Hahn's 16th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars. Following Rough Speedweek, Hafertepe Ready To Defend Dirt Cup Title

Bryan Hulbert - ALGER, Wash. (June 20, 2018) Shifting gears from Speedweek to Dirt Cup, Sam Hafertepe, Jr. is looking to rebound and capture his third victory in the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway.

"We're really excited to be back, and hearing that the track has been racy this year, we're looking forward to this weekend. We have a lot of confidence and have a lot of great people around Skagit that help us out with a place to park and a shop. With the friends I have up here from racing over the years, it just adds to it all and makes it really comfortable," stated Hafertepe, who extended a special thanks to Greg Hamilton and Debo for their hospitality.

"Driving 30 hours to your next race, you really don't want to be on edge, so having all these people around us this week just makes it that much better. You combine all of that with the speed and balance we've had in the car, and we're really pumped to go win a third Dirt Cup."

With a win and a sixth to start Speedweek, the week continued on Tuesday, June 12 at Devil's Bowl Speedway with a fourth-place finish.

"Speedweek was rough this year. We started off with a win, and obviously, that's what we set our minds on, and really thought the whole week would go that way. We had the speed, just didn't have luck on our side. At Devil's Bowl, we were quick, just had an electrical issue there with four or five to go that really cost us a chance of winning."

Moving to Lawton Speedway the following night, things ended with a DNF after contact with another car sent the No. 15h into the wall with a broken front suspension. Rebounding Thursday at Creek County Speedway, Hafertepe battled throughout the mid-point of the race for the lead before settling with a runner-up finish.

"I really figured we'd fall into about third at Lawton before we got taken out, so that cost us. The next night at Creek, we were really good. I'd say probably not quite as good as Sammy after we got the Jacobs Ladder knocked out of the car, but we were able to run him down and race with him."

Capping the week at Salina Speedway, the No. 15h would again suffer a DNF.

"We ended up losing the brakes on the car and weren't running too bad. I felt like we were going to get up to maybe third, but once we lost the brakes, I was just trying to limp her home and couldn't get slowed down enough. Ended up getting under Blake's left rear tire and got the front end knocked out, but all-in-all we had good speed each night. It may not look like that on paper, but we had a car that could contend each night."

Racing June 21, 22, and 23, the 47th Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup presented by the Skagit Casino Resort at Skagit Speedway goes green at 7:00 P.M. (PDT) each night.
