Blake Hahn Triumphs With ASCS Sooner At Creek County Speedway

Bryan Hulbert - SAPULPA, Okla. (April 17, 2019) After a rough couple weeks of racing, Blake Hahn's luck appears to have taken a turn with the DriveWFX.com/Sage Fruit Co. No. 52 racing to victory this past weekend with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products at Creek County Speedway.

"First off, we really needed a win. These past couple weeks have had moments that were good, but overall just sucked so this really makes me feel like we've made the right changes," commented Hahn.

Chasing Seth Bergman for most of the feature event, traffic played into Blake's hands as the leaders worked into the final laps. Making the race winning move on Lap 24, Hahn was able to work the cushion while Bergman raced the low line.

"At Creek County, Seth is probably the toughest driver to beat. It seems like just about every time he rolls in there, he's the odds-on favorite, so to be able to get by him for the win, we had to work for it and it worked out where being second going into traffic gave me the advantage where being the leader, you don't always know that a line has come in."

Unchallenged to the checkered flag, Hahn was able to open his advantage to over a second.

"It's not that Seth messed up and we got him, that's just the tough part about leading, especially on a track like Creek. Once I got by him, I was racing as hard as I could because again, I wasn't sure where he was and the bottom was still good so I didn't want to give him the chance to run me down"

Up next for Blake will be more action with the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products at Humboldt Speedway on Friday, April 19 and Tri-State Speedway in Pocola, Okla. on Saturday, April 20.

"I love Humboldt. We seem to always run well there, and Tri-State is a lot of fun. We still have some room to work on the car, so we're really looking forward to this weekend to keep dialing the car in before we hit the road for our first two National Tour shows."

The 2019 season is Blake Hahn's 17th year of racing. Starting in Jr. Sprints at the Tulsa Shootout, Hahn has progressed through the ranks with over 90 victories across Micros, Midgets, and Sprint Cars. Herrera Charges At Creek County Speedway With ASCS Sooner Region

Bryan Hulbert - SAPULPA, Okla. (April 17, 2019) Jumping behind the wheel of his own Mesilla Valley Transportation No. 45x, Johnny Herrera took on the American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region presented by Smiley's Racing Products at Creek County Speedway this past weekend with a charge from 16th to sixth in the A-Feature.

One of the few times in 2019 that Herrera will be on track after swapping roles to Crew Chief for Harli White; that role is one of the main reasons Johnny was in competition.

"Creek was a race I had marked down all year that I wanted to race at since it wasn't going to take away from my duties with Harli, but also, it was a chance for me to apply the setups we've been working on for her and be able to feel what she's feeling," explained Johnny.

A little free to start the night, a fifth-place finish in his Heat Race positioned the Morton Excavating backed entry on the front row of the second B-Feature. Able to walk away with the win, Johnny made very little changes to the car into the A-Feature with the car moving and handling very much to his liking.

"I just had the back of the car too high to start the night, so it was way off balance and that got me buried. Once I got it squatted down where it needed to be, the car felt really good and I was able to pretty much do whatever I wanted in the Features."

Asked what the biggest takeaway from the night was, Herrera replied, "It's being able to actually see what the setups are doing so we can communicate better. I think setup wise, we have a good package and this showed a few places where I can go even further to make the car more drivable to for Harli."

As for the next time, Johnny will be behind the wheel, time will tell.

"We'll definitely race again this year. There are a few races we are looking at, but I just need to thank everyone who supports me and has made it possible to continue racing. Mesilla Valley Transportation, Morton Excavating, Semi-Crazy Truck Wash, Champion Brands, Maxim, Ostrich, and especially my wife, Ann. Even running a limited schedule, they still back me and that means a lot."

The 2019 season marks the 35th year of racing for Johnny Herrera which includes over 140 victories in various forms of Sprint Car competition. For more information, and to keep in touch with the man called "Hollywood", log onto to http://www.johnnyherreraracing.com.

Bell Leads Swindell SpeedLab Team Into All Star Doubleheader at Attica

Inside Line Promotions - AVON, Ind. (April 17, 2019) - The Swindell SpeedLab sprint car team is anticipating a return to the track this weekend during an Ollie's Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions doubleheader at Attica Raceway Park.

NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Christopher Bell will pilot the race car both nights at the high-banked oval in Attica, Ohio.

"It's been quite a while since we raced so we're hopeful the weather cooperates," team owner Kevin Swindell said. "Our team has had success at Attica and I think Christopher has as well so I think we can be contenders both nights."

The Swindell SpeedLab team captured its first career feature win with Spencer Bayston behind the wheel during a 2017 All Star show at Attica Raceway Park. The team's best result at the track last year was a seventh-place result during Ohio Sprint Speedweek.

"Attica can be a really fun and racy track," Swindell said. "If you get your car right for the main event you can charge through the field."

Bell and the team have been strong during four starts thus far this season. The team tackled the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., in February and left on a high after improving each night.

After being in a B Main during the opening round, Bell placed fourth during an All Star show before finishing third and second, respectively, during two World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series starts.

Inside Line Promotions - SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (April 17, 2019) - Jack Dover will venture east this Saturday to invade the season-opening event at Knoxville Raceway.

"Our goal is to run a bit more at Knoxville this season when our schedule allows," he said. "We have a pretty good handle on our setup there, but any time you can get laps at Knoxville it will help you come time for the Knoxville Nationals."

"Knoxville is one of the best tracks in the country so it's usually really racy and there's always a great group of drivers on hand so the competition is tough," he said. "Whenever you run in the top 10 at Knoxville it's been a good night."

Dover's best finish last year was a fourth-place run.
