Iron-Man Late Models, Modifieds Begin 2018 Season with 8th Annual Hangover at 411 Motor Speedway January 1

SOMERSET, KY - December 21, 2017 - The Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com and the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series are set to begin their 2018 season respectively on Monday January 1, 2018 at the McCarter Family Promoted 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn. with the 8th Annual Hangover event.

The 8th Annual Hangover 40 event will take place on Monday January 1st and will see the Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com in competition in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heat races, and the 40 lap, $4,000 to win/$450 to start 8th Annual Hangover A-Main event. The Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series will be in action in a full program of practice, time trials, qualifying heat races, and the 25 lap, $1,200 to win/$125 to start A-Main event. Also in competition at 411 Motor Speedway on Saturday January 1 will be Crate Late Models ($1,500 to win), Sportsman Late Models ($700 to win), Modified Street Stocks ($700 to win), and Mod Lites ($1,000 to win). Also, window nets, driver gloves, and raceceivers are mandatory at all times in all divisions (no exceptions).

The Super Late Model portion of the event will be sanctioned by the Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Championship Late Model Series presented by DirtonDirt.com and Late Model technical rules for the Hangover will follow the 2017 rule book and the series website has all those details, with the following tire compound rules for all four tires on the cars: Hoosier 1350, 1600 and/or American Racer 48, 56. The entry fee for Super Late Models is $100. Also, there will be a $100 bonus paid out to the highest finishing Super Late Model competitor in the A-Main event that utilizes a CT525 engine package and there will also be a $100 bonus paid to the highest finishing driver using an All Steel/SPEC engine package. Also, any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $50 tow money. Random tire samples will be taken and any car is subject to this process at anytime during the course of the event, with any prize money being held until tire samples clear the lab.

The Open Wheel Modified portion of the event will be sanctioned by the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Series rules and procedures with UMP DirtCar body rules and use the following tire compound rules for all four tires on the cars: Hoosier M30, M60 and/or American Racer Hard and Extra Hard, with the Hoosier M60 and American Racer Extra Hard as a right rear option and may be siped, but no grooving of any tires is allowed. The Open Wheel Modified entry fee is $25 and any driver not making the 22 car starting field will receive $25 tow money. Also, random tire samples will be taken and any car is subject to this process at anytime during the course of the event, with any prize money being held until tire samples clear the lab.

The Crate Late Model, Sportsman Late Models, and Modified Street Stocks will race according to the rules and procedures normally in use at 411 Motor Speedway. The Mod Lites will race according to the rules of their series organization rules and race procedures.
Activities for the 8th Annual Hangover at 411 Motor Speedway on Monday January 1, 2018 will see the general admission area and pit area open at 8:00 a.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 11:45 a.m., with practice laps set to begin at Noon, followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. All times are Eastern Standard Time. Tickets prices for the 8th Annual Hangover at 411 Motor Speedway on Monday January 1 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under free. A pit pass will be $35, with children ages 12 and under $15 with a signed release.

Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C. won the Super Late Model portion of the Hangover one year ago over Mike Marlar, Jason Cardwell, Jason Welshan, and Russell Erwin. KC Burdette of Parkersburg, W.V. won the Modified portion of the Hangover event one year ago over Jimmy Owens, Shon Flanary, Aaron Branham, and Brad Hall.
