Hanks Pumped for World of Outlaws Season Debut in West Memphis and Pevely This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - BURLISON, Tenn. (April 18, 2017) - Brandon Hanks will make his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season debut this weekend.

Hanks is slated to compete on Friday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., for the Bull Ring Outlaw Blitz and on Saturday at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., for the Spring Classic with the series.

"It's been a long time since I've been in the 410," he said. "I just need a decent run to build my confidence up. I want to make the show and try to move forward as best as we can each night."

Hanks finished 10th in a 360ci winged sprint car last season during his most recent visit to Riverside International Speedway. However, Friday will mark his first-ever 410 race at the track.

"I've never run a 410 there," he said. "I feel like a World of Outlaws race will be a lot different than normal. They're predicting rain this week so I think we'll have a hooked up and fast track, something I haven't seen in a while there. I have a lot of family and friends who are going to come because it's a home track so I'm excited and ready to go. I wish it was Friday already."

Hanks made his debut at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 last August during the Ironman 55. He made the main event and finished 22nd.

"That race track will make you a man," he said. "That's one of the fastest tracks I've been to. It's unreal. What took me by surprise last year was the feel of the speed. That place is so banked. With the limited races I've run in the 410, even when that track was slick it was like you could hold it on the floor and put it on top. I think getting past that shock of the speed, knowing what to expect this time, will put me in a better position."

Hanks has raced a 410 winged sprint car only five times - all last season - in his career. He placed 18th during his World of Outlaws debut and 11th during his National Sprint League debut. His best finish with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions is 19th .

White Records Best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Result of Season in Sedalia

Inside Line Promotions - SEDALIA, Mo. (April 18, 2017) - Harli White garnered her best Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour finish of the season last Saturday at Missouri State Fair Speedway.

"We got the motor running so that was our No. 1 concern," she said. "It ran well all day long."

White finished where she started - fourth - in a heat race to open the event at the half-mile oval.

"We got up to third at one time, but we got passed at the end," she said. "That didn't help our points so we started 14th in the main event.

"I passed a couple of cars to end 12th. There wasn't a whole lot of passing. The track ended up taking rubber in one corner and we ran the cushion in the other corner. It was like two different tracks. Finishing 12 th and looking at the results of people who finished in front of me, there's so much competition on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this year."

The 12th-place finish was three positions better than White's previous top result with the series.

"I'm learning stuff every time I go on the race track," she said. "There's going to be ups and downs, but we need to continually learn and try to get better each time out."

White is slated to compete this Friday and Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout with the NCRA and ASCS Red River Region.

"There will be a lot of cars so my goal is to make the show both nights," she said. "That's our No. 1 goal and then we'll go forward from there."

Baughman Runs into Tough Luck During ASCS National Tour Event in Missouri

Inside Line Promotions - SEDALIA, Mo. (April 18, 2017) - Josh Baughman's night ended early last Saturday at Missouri State Fair Speedway, where he ran into bad luck during the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour event.

Baughman began the event by drawing a high pill, which lined him up near the rear of his heat race on the half-mile oval.

"We started at the back of the heat and only passed one car," he said. "That put us toward the back of the A Main."

Baughman advanced from seventh to sixth place in the heat race. That lined him up on the inside of the eighth row for the main event.

"We were up to ninth or 10th about 10 laps into the feature when a rock hit the quick connect on the brakes and broke it so I had to pull in," he said. "It pushed all the fluid out and I didn't have any brakes. I pushed the brakes and the pedal went to the floor so I pulled in. We're going too fast to be racing without brakes."

Baughman was credited with a 21st-place result.

He is slated to compete this Friday and Saturday at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., for the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout with the NCRA and ASCS Red River Region.

"We need to put ourselves in position and have some luck," he said. "We've struggled on the luck side this year. The team has worked hard and prepared well, but we haven't caught the breaks. With a little luck we should have a great finish."

Baughman finished fifth at the track during his debut in 2014.

Rilat Works Bugs Out of 410 Program During World of Outlaws Season Debut

Inside Line Promotions - MESQUITE, Texas (April 18, 2017) - Travis Rilat worked hard to get his race car dialed in during his World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series season debut last Friday at the Texas Outlaw Nationals.

"It was our first 410 race of the season so there were some things we needed to work through," he said. "We were having some trouble early with the bleeders. Every time we went on the track they were good for a few laps and then we'd back up once the car freed up."

Rilat qualified 27th quickest during the opening round of the doubleheader at Devil's Bowl Speedway. He then advanced from ninth to seventh place in a heat race, which was only one position shy of locking into the main event. However, Rilat maneuvered from ninth to sixth place in the Last Chance Showdown to garner the final transfer into the main event.

"I think we finally got the bleeders figured out before the main event," he said. "We passed five or six cars on the first lap. The car was going to be really good, but it didn't work out. Another driver drove off the track and he was coming back on. His left front tire and our right rear collided."

The contact in turns one and two on the second lap of the race resulted in Rilat flipping. His night ended early with a 24th-place result and the team was finished racing for the weekend.

"It junked the car," he said. "We will need to rebuild it before the next race."

Rilat will take the next two weekends off before resuming competition on May 5 at Heart O' Texas Speedway in Waco, Texas, for the 2nd annual Gene Adamchik Memorial and May 6 at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas, for the 5th annual Nolan Wren Memorial with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
