Cory Hedgecock Scores Career Payday in The Tennessean
WoO Tripleheader Up Next in Tennessee and Georgia

LOUDON, Tenn. (03/13/23) – Cory Hedgecock was back in Victory Lane on Saturday, and this time he was enjoying the spoils of the biggest paying Super Late Model victory of his career.

Cory racer registered a $15,000 victory in the inaugural running of the Tennessean at 411 Motor Speedway aboard his W.E. Hardscapes & Masonry / Noble Knights Construction Services / No. 23 Currin Construction / BMF Race Car / Eagle Racing Engine Super Late Model.

His third win of the season also marked his first-career Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals victory.

“To win in front of a hometown crowd like this in a big event with these names here … it’s always good to win it at 411,” Hedgecock said in Victory Lane. “We were fast in laps, but terrible in qualifying. We started seventh and drove to the front by around lap 40. These BMF Race Cars are awesome. That was a tough one that we had to work for.

“I’m just happy, grateful, thankful, every which way and above. I can’t thank all my people enough.”

Cory Hedgecock entered a single event over the weekend with a short trip to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) to pilot his Noble Knights Construction Services No. 23 Super Late Model in The Tennessean, which was sanctioned by the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals.

Driving underneath early leader Dale McDowell on lap 39 of the feature, Cory soared to his first-career Spring Nationals victory and the richest Super Late Model win of his career.

Joseph Joiner Repeats in Southern All Star Battle at the Beach Finale
Jonathan Joiner and Jesse Enterkin Prepare for Deep South Action

MILTON, Fla. (03/13/23) – For the second-straight year Joseph Joiner emerged victorious in the Battle at the Beach finale at Southern Raceway.

The $10,000 Southern All Star triumph was achieved aboard his Base Racing Fuel No. 10 Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / Three Trade Consultants / Longhorn Race Car Super Late Model.

“Friday night we had a good shot at a win but had to check up early to avoid contact from a slide job, and it caused the engine to backfire through the carburetor, so we had to duck into the pits to replace the air filter. I was luckily able to rebound from the tail of the field to fifth and then we actually ended up fourth after the winner got disqualified in post-race tech,” Joiner shared. “On Saturday we came from fifth and got the win, which is our first in the Longhorn Chassis. It was a challenging weekend, but for our first Super Late Model weekend of the year, we couldn’t ask for much more.

“This coming weekend we’re taking Jonathan (Joiner) and Jesse (Enterkin) to Deep South (Speedway), and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do.”

Joseph Joiner returned to Southern Raceway (Milton, Fla.) on Friday and Saturday for the Southern All-Star (SAS) Dirt Racing Series Bash at the Beach doubleheader, which marked his first Super Late Model action of 2023.

On Friday night 24 Super Late Models were on hand for the $3,000-to-win program. Via preliminary action, Joseph locked into the second-starting spot for the feature.

He had to check up on the first circuit to avoid contact from a slide job, which caused the engine to backfire through the carburetor. Joseph pitted to replace the air filter and drove from 23rd to a fifth-place finish. He was then promoted to a fourth-place finish, when the winner was disqualified at the scales.

Saturday night found Joiner getting things into high gear by claiming the Bash at the Beach finale for the second-straight year.

The fifth-starting Joiner charged to the lead on the 15th  circuit and went on to score the $10,000 victory by 2.325 seconds over early leader Dalton Cook. Stephen Brantley, Bo Slay, and Tyler Clem rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

The victory was Joiner's fourth of the season.

Full results from the weekend are available at www.SASdirt.com .

This weekend, March 17-18, Hunt the Front rolls into Deep South Speedway (Loxley, Ala.). Jonathan Joiner will compete in the 602 Late Model division on Friday, while Jesse Enterkin will take on the 604 Late Model division Saturday.

Brian Shirley Outruns Mother Nature and Foes for Toilet Bowl Triumph
WoO Super Late Model Series Action Resumes this Week

CHILTON, Wis. (03/13/23) – Brian Shirley stayed ahead of his nearest competitors and the impending inclement weather on Saturday evening to take his Bob Cullen Racing / Thomason Express No. 3s J&J Ventures & Gaming/ Hoker Trucking / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model to Victory Lane in Saturday night’s 19th ann. From the pole position, Shirley was pacing the field with 22 laps completed when wet weather arrived, resulting in the race being declared completed. Brian received $7,500 for his first win of the season.

“Over the years Clarksville (Speedway) has been pretty good to me. We started out decent on Friday night and got a podium there, and then Saturday everybody knew that the weather was coming so we knew it was important to hit everything right to start the night. We qualified fastest, got to the lead early and then the rain came just past halfway, and we were declared the winner,” Shirley said. “We’ve been fast to start the year, and it’s always great to get the first win.

“We’re really pumped up to make a run at the (World of) Outlaws title this year, so we’re excited to get back to racing with them this weekend in Tennessee and Georgia.”

Brian Shirley returned to the driver’s seat of the Bob Cullen Racing No. 3s Late Model on Friday afternoon for the 19th ann. Tuckassee Toilet Bowl Classic at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway.

With a heat race victory placing him on the second row in Friday’s $3,000-to-win prelim, Brian raced to a third-place finish in the 25-lap affair. He trailed Dennis Erb Jr. and Josh Rice to the checkers.

On Saturday with rain threatening the program, Shirley secured his spot into the Toilet Bowl Classic finale with the fast time honors in qualifying. Big Game Motorsports Bound for Williams Grove and Lincoln This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – WINDOM, Minn. (March 13, 2023) – David Gravel is heading to Central Pennsylvania this weekend for the final two rounds of the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series’ Low-E Insulation Spring Showdown.

The Big Game Motorsports competitor will race on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg and on Saturday at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown.

“It’s going to be different,” Gravel said. “We don’t typically race in the Northeast this time of the season. The weather will be colder. The tracks will be wetter and faster. For Williams Grove that could be a benefit to us. As far as Lincoln, it’s a short track so that can create different issues. We’ll just wait and see. We’re on the new tires as well so we’re entering it with an open mind.”

Gravel has earned eight World of Outlaws wins at Williams Grove Speedway with his most recent trip to Victory Lane coming in October 2020.

“Williams Grove is a track I’ve been comfortable at,” he said. “I haven’t won there in a few years so I’m definitely motivated to get back to Victory Lane. We’ve been in dashes and in the ball game, just not where we want to be or need to be in the A Mains.”

Gravel was victorious during a World of Outlaws event at Lincoln Speedway in May 2017.

“That’s a place you have to get qualified well at to put yourself in position,” he said. “It’s off camber in some parts of the corners and banked in different places. It can be tricky so you need to unload with a fast car and try to run up front all night.”

Gravel enters the weekend leading the World of Outlaws championship standings by 20 points. He is also tied for the lead in the Low-E Insulation Spring Showdown standings.

Mallett Returning to ASCS National Tour for 2023 Campaign

Inside Line Promotions - GREENBRIER, Ark. (March 13, 2023) - Jordon Mallett is back on the ASCS National Tour trail this year.

The Arkansas native was a full-time competitor with the series in 2019 and 2020, earning results of ninth during his rookie campaign and sixth the following season. He captured his first career ASCS National Tour feature triumph in 2021.

"We gained a lot of valuable laps and learned a lot of lessons from our previous time on the road with the ASCS National Tour," Mallett said. "We're looking forward to returning to the road with the top 360 sprint car series and putting what we've learned to use."

The ASCS National Tour, which features four dozen races at 25 tracks in 10 states, opens the season this Friday and Saturday at Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, during the Devil's Bowl Speedway Spring Nationals.

Mallett's best result in five starts at the unique track is a seventh-place outing in 2020.

"Devil's Bowl is certainly unique," he said. "It can be a tough track to dig yourself out of a hole so it's important to be on point from the time you hit the track for hot laps. I think if we can set ourselves up at the beginning of the night we can run up front. It's just critical to be successful early and earn a spot in the first couple of rows if you want to be battling for a win in the feature."

The goal for this season is to be consistent, which will hopefully lead to a career-best result in the championship standings.

"Our goals are to win races and win the championship, but when you are points racing you have to be conscious about the bigger picture," he said. "I think if we can be a consistent top-five performer night in and night out we will put ourselves in contention for multiple wins and a championship."

SEASON STATS -

9 races, 0 wins, 1 top five, 4 top 10s, 4 top 15s, 5 top 20s
