Nick Hoffman Tops Thursday WoO Volusia Thriller
LOLMDS Doubleheader at Golden Isles on Deck this Week

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (02/19/24) – Nick Hoffman won Thursday’s World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series feature in thrilling fashion aboard his Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 C&W Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The North Carolina racer surged past Chris Madden on the final circuit to claim the $12,000 triumph.

“(I found) a lot of grip on (corner) entry where I could run off in there without lifting and really close on (Chris) Madden,” Hoffman said in Victory Lane. “I just wanted to make sure I left Bobby (Pierce) a lane because I knew he was running the top pretty hard and I didn’t want to pinch him into the fence. When I got to (turn) three, I had a decent run and I was like ‘I’m coming across whether it was clear or not’ and I felt like I got plenty across (his nose) there. Man it’s just unreal, I’ve won a ton of these gator (trophies) in a Modified, but this one is so special and to win it on a last-lap pass is unbelievable. This is definitely the biggest win of my career.”

After a week of turning wrenches for his client’s Elite Chassis in Modified competition, Nick Hoffman returned to the driver’s seat of the Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Super Late Model at Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) last Tuesday for the second round of the 53rd annual Federated DIRTcar Nationals.

After a rain shower washed out Monday’s program midway through the event, Hoffman raced into Tuesday’s preliminary with a second-place finish in his heat. Starting in eighth, Nick was one of six cars eliminated after a slowing car caused a pile-up following a lap-17 restart.

With the field split into three groups on Wednesday, Nick’s second-fastest lap in his time trial group positioned him on the front row of his prelim. Losing one spot in the 20-lap affair, Hoffman posted a third-place finish.

For Monday’s rescheduled preliminary that was also ran on Wednesday, Hoffman recorded a 12th-place finish.

In a field of 48 cars on Thursday as the remainder of the 53rd annual DIRTcar Nationals turned World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioned, Nick soared into the redraw with a flag-to-flag victory in his heat race. Overtaking late leader Chris Madden on the final lap coming out of three, Hoffman rolled to his second-career World of Outlaws victory ahead of Madden and Bobby Pierce.

His first win of the 2024 season was worth $12,000.

Friday night's program came to an early end for Hoffman after he got stuck behind a slowing car with a blown motor while running fifth in the feature.

Saturday’s DIRTcar Nationals finale was a wash after persistent rain forced officials to cancel the $16,000-to-win main event.

Nick is currently sixth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.

Full results from the events are available at www.DIRTcar.com and www.WoOLMS.com .

This Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24 will find Nick competing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.).

Hudson O’Neal Competes in Volusia’s DIRTcar Nationals
LOLMDS Competition Resumes Friday at Golden Isles Speedway

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (02/19/24) Hudson O’Neal took his Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model into battle last week at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park.

Hudson and the Rocket1 Racing team rode a rollercoaster of experiences during the week’s festivities.

“We were looking forward to getting back to Volusia (Speedway Park) last week after winning there back in January. However, we battled through an up-and-down week. I feel like just about every night we had a good car, but the cards just didn’t fall our way in one aspect or another. This team kept digging though, and now we’re ready to return to Lucas Oil (Late Model Dirt Series) action this weekend at Golden Isles (Speedway),” O’Neal said.

Coming off five-straight nights at East Bay, Rocket1 Racing and Hudson O’Neal trekked to Volusia Speedway Park (De Leon Springs, Fla.) on Tuesday to kick off the 53rd annual DIRTcar Nationals.

After Mother Nature postponed Monday’s opener midway through the event, O’Neal followed up the fastest time in his 23-car group on Tuesday with a heat race victory. Starting the feature in fourth, Hudson was collected in a melee that was triggered by a slowing competitor on a lap-17 restart. The ensuing damage led to an early exit for Rocket1 Racing.

With the 48-car field divided into three groups on Wednesday, Hudson advanced four spots in his 20-lap preliminary to finish fifth.

During the same night for Monday’s make-up feature, O’Neal steered to a fifth-place finish, which came behind Bobby Pierce, Tim McCreadie, Cade Dillard, and Devin Moran.

For the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series sanctioned program on Thursday, Hudson challenged for a position in the Top 10 early in the feature before ultimately crossing the line in 17th.

Starting Friday’s $16,000-to-win A-Main in 12th via third-place finish in his heat, O’Neal climbed five positions to register a seventh-place finish.

Saturday’s 53rd annual Federated DIRTcar Nationals finale fell to wet weather.

Full results from the events are available at www.DIRTcar.com and www.WoOLMS.com .

O’Neal and Rocket1 Racing resume the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) campaign this Friday and Saturday. The opening round posts a $10,000 winner’s check, while Saturday’s finale is headlined by a $20,000-to-win feature.

Hudson is currently second in the latest LOLMDS points, just five points removed from the top spot.

RSR and Reutzel come out swinging; Excitement builds for Midwest season

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (February 19, 2024) - It was a sound effort in the Sunshine State for Ridge & Sons Racing (RSR) and Aaron Reutzel, not only jump-starting their 2024 campaign with five nights of action at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida, but eventually capping their trip with a pair of top-fives, one of which a victory.

Reutzel, a three-time All Star Circuit of Champions champion and ace of the Folkens Brothers Trucking, Don Long & STC, B And L Holdings, No. 87 sprint car, earned his first top-five of the trip in East Bay’s King of the 360s opener on Wednesday, February 14. The result - a victory at that - was accomplished in dominating fashion, igniting his preliminary effort with a heat race victory. A late-race caution in the evening’s main event created a slight stir for “A-Aron” fans, but the Clute, Texas, native drove off untouched.

Although mechanical issues plagued the team in Thursday’s King of the 360s preliminary, things were back to normal for Friday’s $10,000-to-win finale, racing on to finish an impressive fifth after starting 20th on the A-Main grid.

“Man, I love [East Bay]. From the time we unloaded, just a phenomenal race car,” Reutzel, referring to Wednesday's win, said. “Just hats off to this entire race team, Brian and Lisa Ridge, especially. None of this would be possible if it wasn’t for them. A lot of overtime and late nights in the shop, but we’re thrilled to see it pay off.

“Super sad to see this place go,” Reutzel added. “Just glad to get a win before it’s gone.”

Before King of the 360s action commenced on Wednesday, Reutzel and RSR participated in East Bay’s High Limit Sprint Car Series “Battle at the Bay” program on Monday and Tuesday, February 12-13; Reutzel was scored 25th in Tuesday’s High Limit finale.

ON DECK:
Ridge & Sons Racing and Aaron Reutzel [No. 87] will continue their 2024 campaign with Knoxville Raceway’s season opener on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20; Friday will feature practice sessions with Saturday’s event featuring a full program.

2024 STATISTICS & HIGHLIGHTS:
Earned a King of the 360s preliminary victory at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, February 14; finished fifth in the $10,000-to-win finale (February 16).
