Nick Hoffman Rolls to Renegades of Dirt $10k Payday
Records Richest Victory of 2021 Campaign
Mooresville, North Carolina (04/19/21) – Nick Hoffman’s weekend at Hilltop Speedway may not have started the way he wanted, but it definitely ended in perfect form. He piloted his Elite Chassis No. 2 Fox Shocks Modified to the $10,000 triumph in the Renegades of Dirt finale at the Ohio oval.
“We weren’t very good on Friday night, so we went to work for Saturday’s show, and it all came together well,” Hoffman shared. “It’s nice to get our first five-figure payday of the season, and hopefully it’s the first of many to come this year. A big thank you goes out to all of our great marketing partners for their awesome support.”
Nick Hoffman trekked north on Friday to Hilltop Speedway (Millersburg, Ohio) for the opening round of a doubleheader with the Renegades of Dirt Modified Series. It proved to be a successful weekend.
Action opened on Friday night with the 39-car Modified field divided into a pair of $1,000-to-win events. In his respective program, Nick finished second in his heat race and later that evening crossed the finish line in fourth in his 25-lap prelim.
Hoffman returned on Saturday looking for a better outing, and he would achieve his goal with a $10,000 triumph. Nick’s night began with the second-fastest lap in his qualifying group, and he backed it up with a heat race win.
Via his fast start to the night, Hoffman started third on the feature grid. He wasted little time working his way to the front of the field, claiming the lead on lap 4. Once out front, Nick led the rest of the way en route to his fifth victory of the season.
Tyler Nicely, Josh Harris, Dave Hess Jr., and Jesse Wisecarver rounded out the Top-5 finishers.
The team is currently evaluating when their next race will be, and once confirmed will be posted on the team’s online home at www.NickHoffman2.com.

Tony Jackson Jr. Tops Lucas Oil MLRA Action at I-80
LOLMDS Double Shot this Weekend
LEBANON, Mo. (04/19/21) – Tony Jackson Jr. visited Victory Lane for the first time in 2021 last Tuesday night at Nebraska’s I-80 Speedway. Tony picked up a $5,000 winner’s check after topping the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) feature in his Viper Risk Management No. 56v Willard Quarries / Base Fuels / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.
“We had a real good balance, and we were just trying to be real patient. I’ve let some races get away just trying too hard at the start, so I was just trying to bide my time and keep a big enough lead at the end,” Jackson said on Tuesday night in Victory Lane at I-80 Speedway. “Any time you race with (Moyer) he kind of gauges your speed, so I knew that he had a pretty good pace going. I hope it was a good race for everybody else, because it was a fun race inside the car."
Lifting the lid on a week-long stretch with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA), Tony Jackson Jr. invaded I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) on Tuesday evening for the Tuesday Tickler. In a field of 34 entries, Jackson Jr. laid down the second-fastest time in his qualifying group behind Mason Oberkramer before picking up an eight-lap heat race victory.
Earning the fourth-starting position for the A-Main, Tony powered ahead of race-leader Billy Moyer on lap 15 and led the rest of the way to capture his first win of the season and a $5,000 prize. He topped Chase Junghans, Ashton Winger, Mason Oberkramer, and Billy Moyer at the line to record his eighth-career MLRA triumph.
The following night at Stuart Speedway (Stuart, Iowa), Tony fell one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fifth-place finish, which relegated him to the B-Main. Retiring on the sixth lap of the consolation event, Jackson Jr. was granted a provisional for the night’s feature. Coming one spot shy of a Top-10 finish, Tony passed 12 cars in the 40-lapper to place 11th.
Friday and Saturday took the team to 34 Raceway for the 13th annual Slocum weekend. With 41 entries on hand for Friday night’s $5,000-to-win, Prelude to the Slocum program, Tony earned the seventh-starting spot for the feature and went on to record a fourth-place finish behind Brian Shirley, Bobby Pierce, and Billy Moyer.
On Saturday night the Slocum 50 was held as the team set their sights on the $10,555 top prize. For the second-straight night, Tony started seventh on the grid. He mounted a charge to the second position before the racing groove narrowed late in the race as the leaders diced through lap traffic. The Missouri racer crossed the finish line in the second position behind Jason Papich with Garrett Alberson, Billy Moyer, and Chris Simpson rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
“I really wanted to win the Slocum finale after seeing a mechanical failure take the win from us last year while leading,” Jackson Jr. shared. “Traffic got pretty difficult late in the race, and that played a bit of a factor for me, but Jason (Papich) had the car to beat, and we had a second-place car. All-in-all, it was a great week of racing for our team, and a much-needed shot in the arm.
Full results from these events are available at www.MLRARacing.com.
The upcoming weekend – April 23-24 – has TJR Motorsports set to invade Illinois for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events at Tri-City Speedway and Macon Speedway.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Rowdy Energy/Lucas Oil Products/Curb Records/Self Made/No. 24 sprint car, led the first 22 circuits around Bedford’s high paced half-mile, eventually overtaken by Pennsylvania standout, Anthony Macri, during a single-file restart with eight laps remaining. BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 19, 2021) - Despite a two month gap in his competitive schedule, last operating his Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Digital Ally/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Mobil 1/Carquest Auto Parts/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car during starts in Georgia and Florida, “Smoke” Tony Stewart went on to score three consecutive top-ten finishes with the All Star Circuit of Champions, kicking things off with a blockbuster victory, one of the biggest of his sprint car career, during the Thursday Night Thriller at Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, Virginia, on Thursday, April 15.
The win, accompanied by a $12,000 payday, was fought on two different fronts, as not only was there a stacked field of full-time All Stars and Pennsylvania Posse representatives, but tire wear was also an issue. Suffice it to say, Smoke proved he had what it takes to overcome each obstacle, eventually winning in dramatic fashion with a last corner pass over Buch Motorsports’ Justin Peck. Peck, the current All Star points leader, suffered from a flat while racing to the checkers.
“We weren’t the fastest car by any means. We kinda figured out early that it was going to be a tricky surface and ultimately a challenge for tires. I just tried to run my car straighter than those guys ahead of me,” Tony Stewart said in Virginia Motor Speedway victory lane, who now owns All Star victories at six different facilities. “We could see that (Justin Peck’s) tire was getting pretty worn. I could see the cords so I told myself if he can run the car that hard and make it work, good for him. Being second while trying to save tires was going to be a good night for us.”
In addition to his five-figure score at Virginia Motor Speedway, Stewart also nailed down top-ten appearances during Williams Grove Speedway’s Tommy Hinnershitz Classic (sixth), as well as during Port Royal Speedway’s Keith Kauffman Classic (seventh). On top of that, Stewart qualified for all three All Star dashes during the weekend, winning a pair of heat races along the way.
Tony Stewart and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing have not unveiled plans for the coming weekend. Fans are encouraged to stay alert on social media for continuing updates pertaining to Tony Stewart’s schedule.
