Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series Rolls to North Florida Speedway February 4-6 for Florida Frostbuster

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (January 18, 2021) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series will visit the Sunshine State of Florida for the first-time ever when the tour will visit North Florida Speedway in Lake City, FL for the Inaugural Florida Frostbuster presented by Layin’ 1 Down Promotions and Dirt’s 4 Racing Promotions on Thursday February 4, Friday February 5, and Saturday February 6. Atomic Speedway promoter Brad McCown and Candice Kealy with Dirt’s 4 Racing Promotions have teamed up to present the weekend of racing activities that will be sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series as a pair of non-point events for the tour. 

On Thursday February 4, there will be an open practice, with the Friday February 5 event paying $8,000-to-win for the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series, the weekend concludes on Saturday February 6 with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series racing for $10,000 to win. The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will sanction these two events as non-points races and run under Iron-Man technical rules and procedures. The track prep crew will be done by some of the best in the country, as McCown and crew will be bringing their own staff from Atomic Speedway to work with the North Florida crew for the best racing surface possible. In addition, there will be a $1,000 bonus for any Super Late Model competitor that sets fast time both nights and wins the feature event both nights courtesy of CT Promotions. 

The weekend begins on Thursday February 4 and will see an open practice for all Super Late Model competitors, with a full racing program scheduled for the GRIT 602 Center Modifieds racing for $1,500 to win and a full racing program for the GRIT Series Mini-Mods. The pit area will open at 2:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers set for 6:00 p.m., followed by practice at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Thursday February 4 in the general admission area will be $10, with children ages 10 and under free. A pit pass will be $30, with children ages 10 and under $20. 

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will be in competition at the Florida Frostbuster on Friday February 5 with a full program of practice, E-Z-GO time trials, VP Racing Fuels Makin’ Power heats, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $8,000 to win main event. Also in action on Friday February 5 will be the GRIT 602 Center Modifieds racing for $1,500 to win, Dirt’s 4 Racing Street Stocks racing for $800 to win, and full program of action for the GRIT Series Mini-Mods. On Friday February 5, the pit area will open at 2:00 p.m. and general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting slated for 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the Friday February 5 event in the general admission area will be $25, with Seniors, Veterans, and children ages 6 to 12 being $20, while children ages 5 and under are $5. A pit pass will be $40, while children ages 10 and under will be free. 

The Inaugural Florida Frostbuster weekend concludes on Saturday February 6 with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series in a full program of practice, E-Z-GO time trials, VP Racing Fuels Makin’ Power heats, B-Mains, and a 40 lap, $10,000 to win feature contest. Also in competition at North Florida Speedway on Saturday February 6 will be the GRIT 602 Center Modifieds racing for $1,500 to win along with the Dirt’s 4 Racing Street Stocks racing for $1,000 to win, plus a full program for the GRIT Series Mini-Mods.  On Saturday February 6, the pit area will open at 2:00 p.m. and the general admission area will open at 5:00 p.m., with the drivers meeting slated for 6:00 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the Saturday February 6 weekend finale event in the general admission area will be $25, with Seniors, Veterans, and children ages 6 to 12 being $20, while children ages 5 and under are $5. A pit pass will be $40, while children ages 10 and under will be free. 

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series will be in charge of the Super Late Model portion of the program each night. The tire rule will be as follows: Left Rear/Fronts– Hoosier Rib (28.5) 1300 and American Racer 44; Right Rear–Hoosier (29.0) 1300 NRM, (29.0) 1300 NRMW, (92) LM40 and American Racer 56. Competitors must use the same set of (4) tires for Qualifying, Heat Races, and B-Mains. For the Feature event, competitors may use (2) new tires. The series entry fee will be $100 per night and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track.
