Tony Jackson Jr. Records Richest-Career Win
Extends Lucas Oil MLRA Point Lead with Weekend Wins

LEBANON, Mo. (06/07/21) Tony Jackson Jr. enjoyed a successful weekend with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). Not only did he score two wins, but he also claimed the richest triumph of his career with a $10,000 triumph on Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

Jackson Jr. now has three wins in 2021 behind the wheel of his Lebanon Ready Mix No. 56 Willard Quarries / Base Fuels / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“What a great weekend for our team. We’ve been so close to winning a big race so many times before only to have flats, mechanical failures or other issues, but on Friday night everything finally worked out and we got the $10,000 win,” Jackson Jr. said. “On Thursday night we led early and then Jeremiah (Hurst) got past us. Thankfully, I was able to get back past him to get the lead and the win. We had a so-so night on Saturday at Deer Creek, but still managed a 10th-place finish.

“A special thanks goes out to my family, my crew, and everyone who supports this program.”

Tony Jackson Jr. returned to competition with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) on Thursday afternoon as the series kicked off its tripleheader weekend at Maquoketa Speedway (Maquoketa, Iowa).

With 17 Late Models entered, Jackson Jr. recorded the seventh-fastest time in time trials before passing three cars in his heat race to pick up the win. Regaining the lead from fellow front-row starter Jeremiah Hurst amid lapped-traffic with 11 circuits remaining, Tony soared to his second win of the season, which came over Chris Simpson, Hurst, Garrett Alberson, and Chad Simpson.

His ninth career MLRA triumph was worth $3,000.

On Friday afternoon at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.), Tony improved one spot in his heat race to capture the 10-lap victory. Leading wire-to-wire in the 50-lap feature, Jackson Jr. cruised to his second win in as many nights and third overall of the season. He took the checkers ahead of Jeremiah Hurst, A.J. Diemel, Jake Timm, and Mason Oberkramer to claim $10,000, which marked the richest of his career.

For the weekend finale on Saturday at Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.), Jackson Jr., logged a sixth-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 17th on the starting grid for the $4,000-to-win finale. Breaking into the Top-10, Tony passed seven cars in the 40-lapper to register a 10th-place finish.

With his weekend performances, Tony extended his lead atop the Lucas MLRA point standings. Full results from these events are available at www.MLRARacing.com.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (06/07/21) – Jensen Ford notched another career first on Friday night in his Whitehead Construction Inc. No. 83 Stanco Equipment/ Shoun Trucking/ TNT Race Cars / Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Inheriting the lead, when the two frontrunners collided on lap 11, Ford went on to pace the remainder of the feature at Wartburg Speedway en route to his first-career Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series victory.

Ford received $4,000 for his second overall triumph of the year, and with the win extended his advantage atop the latest Valvoline Iron-Man Series Southern Region standings.

It didn’t really get tore up that bad. I knew after that, just stay around the bottom and protect the bottom and I knew we was gonna be hard to pass. Then on Saturday night at I-75 Raceway we had another solid night with a second-place finish. I’m really proud of what our team has been able to accomplish so far this season.

“Now we are getting geared up to race at Eldora Speedway for the first time in the double Dirt Late Model Dream events this week. Needless to say, we are very excited.”

Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard Ready for Dirt Late Model Dreams

Record Pair of Top-5 Finishes in Weekend WoO Competition

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (06/07/21) – Brandon Sheppard and the Rocket1 Racing team are busily preparing their Valvoline No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches/ Durham Racing Engines-powered XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model for four days of racing this week at the famed Eldora Speedway.

Spanning June 9-12, over $253,000 in first-place money is on the line as the facility hosts both the 26th and 27th annual Dirt Late Model Dreams.

Sheppard, who won the $125,000 top prize in the 2019 edition of the event in the Rocket1 Racing No.1, is chomping at the bit for the opportunity.

“Eldora is just something special and to win there puts you in an elite group. Winning the 2019 Dirt Late Model Dream with this team is arguably the biggest moment of my racing career so far. We had two big events there (Eldora) last year, but they weren’t the Dream or the World, and there were no fans there because of the pandemic. Heading back there this week, knowing it’s the Dirt Late Model Dream and that fans will be packing the place, gets me fired up,” Sheppard said. “Our team may not have as many wins as we’d like at this point in the year, but we’re heading into Eldora with a great car, and we are focused on going after two more Dream titles.”

A busy four days of competition is scheduled for Ohio’s Eldora Speedway. This Wednesday twin $10,000-to-win programs will be contested as the 27th annual Dirt Late Model Dream comes to life. On Thursday night, a $127,000 finale will be held.

On Friday the 26th annual Dirt Late Model Dream, which was postponed last year by the pandemic, will come to life with twin $10,000-to-win programs. Saturday evening, the crown jewel weekend draws to a close with a $126,000-to-win, 100-lap finale.

Tyler Erb and Best Performance Motorsports Top 4B4EVER 40
Southern All Star Weekend Up Next

ST. MARYS, Ohio (06/07/21) – Tyler Erb charged to his seventh victory of the 2021 season on Sunday night at Ohio’s Brushcreek Motorsports Complex. The $10,000 triumph came in the 4B4EVER 40 and Erb accomplished the feat aboard his
Industrial Resourcing Group No. 1 Best Performance Motorsports/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We raced really hard both nights at West Virginia and gave it everything we had, but just didn’t have any luck. Sunday was my first time to Brushcreek, and I can honestly say there’s nothing like it. It was a fun and racy track, and we got the $10,000 win. It was really cool too because they paired all of us with a fan before the show, and if we won, then that fan won a Harley Davidson. That was a nice added bonus on the night,” Erb commented. “We had a good time running the Cole Trickle wrap this weekend, and I hope all of the fans enjoyed it as well.”

Friday night found Best Performance Motorsports pilot Tyler Erb in action at West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, W.Va.) for the opening round of the inaugural Historic 100 weekend. Sporting a No. 46 wrap in honor of Days of Thunder-famed Cole Trickle, Tyler secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his heat.

Improving three spots in the 30-lap affair, Erb notched a third-place finish. He trailed Jonathan Davenport and Gregg Satterlee to the checkers with G.R. Smith and Scott Bloomquist rounding out the Top-5.

On Saturday evening, Erb started the night with a heat race win, which positioned him fourth on the starting grid for the Historic 100. With $25,000 on the line, Tyler rebounded after a pair of tire and wheel issues in the early going dropped him to the tail. He ultimately posted a fourth-place finish in the 50-lapper, following Jonathan Davenport, Gregg Satterlee, and Devin Moran across the line with Matt Sponaugle coming in fifth.

For the 4B4EVER 40 on Sunday at Bruschcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio), Tyler locked into the main event with a heat race win. Sneaking ahead of race-leader Billy Moyer Jr. on lap 13 amid lapped-traffic, Erb went on to pick up his seventh win of the season and a $10,000 payday. He took the checkers ahead of Moyer Jr., R.J. Conley, Steve Casebolt, and Rod Conley.

Full results from these events are available at www.WVMotorSpeedway.com and www.BrushcreekMotorsports.com .

The upcoming weekend – June 11-12 – has Tyler and Best Performance Motorsports headed south to race with the Southern All Stars (SAS) Dirt Racing Series.

The $1,000 win marked his third victory of the season.

“We had probably the fastest car for a little bit early in the feature, and then the car started getting a little free as the groove started moving. We were able to get back to the lead and drive to the win after that,” Lowe said. “I can’t say enough about CVR Race Cars on this car they build, and David and Kim (Duplissey) for this great opportunity.”

Jesse Lowe entered a single event over the weekend with a Friday night visit to Georgia’s Boyd’s Speedway. Jesse qualified third before winning a heat race to earn the pole position for the feature. Overcoming a hard-charging Eli Beets, Lowed raced to his third win of the year, which was worth $1,000.
