SPRINGTIME SPRINTS BRING J&J AUTO RACING SUCCESS
Hafertepe, Jr., Doubles Down, Hammaker & McIntyre Score Wins

McKENZIE, Tenn. (April 12, 2017) – You’ve heard of April showers bringing May flowers? The J&J Auto Racing contingent didn’t get the memo to wait as they continue to rack up early springtime Sprint Car victories around the country. The weekend saw Sam Hafertepe, Jr., double up in Texas at the same time Doug Hammaker and Gerard McIntyre were racing to the checkered flag in Pennsylvania. With less than two weeks chipped away in April, the McKenzie, Tenn., based manufacturer finds itself with over 30 wins to the team’s credit.

Hafertepe, Jr., and the No. 15H Keith Dobbs team officially put themselves in the record books after sweeping the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) National event at the Dirt Track @ Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth April 7 -8. Hafertepe was followed to the line on Saturday by Tony Stewart, who came in fourth. The back-to-back wins bring his ASCS streak to four straight, and he’ll look to tie the series’ record of five this coming weekend at the Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia. Hafertepe has a perfect record in the early ASCS season offerings and currently leads the series point standings.

Being in the Eastern Time Zone, McIntyre officially posted J&J Auto Racing’s first win of the weekend on Saturday night as he ended his winner’s circle drought with a 410ci Division win at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa. Taking the lead on lap 16, McIntyre cruised to the victory in the 25-lap Feature event. Hammaker was impressive on a slick surface at Susquehanna Speedway in York Haven, Pa., on Sunday, April 9, as he earned his second 358ci Winged Sprint Car feature event win of the 2017 season. Taking the lead on lap 14 following a restart, Hammaker drove away to win the 25-lap feature event.
