Jonathan Joiner Makes Triumphant Return to Racing
Joseph Joiner Sets Sights on Senoia’s Spring Nationals $10,053 Top Prize

MILTON, Fla. (03/01/22) – Jonathan Joiner made a triumph return to action over the weekend with a trip to the Winner’s Circle at Southern Raceway. Competing for the first time in roughly a year, Joiner piloted the Base Racing Fuel No. 56 Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / Three Trade Consultants / Capital Race Car Late Model Sportsman to the victory on Saturday night after a near-miss on Friday night.

“First and foremost, I have to thank the team for busting their tails to get me back in the driver’s seat and giving me such a great car. This thing was perfect all weekend. The driver was a little rusty and made a mistake while leading Friday night, but I got redemption on Saturday night with a win,” Jonathan Joiner said. “Again, thanks to everyone who makes it possible for us to race, and I look forward to getting back to action again soon.”

Returning to the driver’s seat for the first time in almost a year, Jonathan Joiner quickly found
speed with a runner-up finish on Friday night in his season debut followed up by a $1,500 victory on Saturday night. Joiner’s triumphant performance came in the Late Model Sportsman division at Florida’s Southern Raceway.

On Friday night Joiner hit the ground running by setting fast time in his No. 56 entry. He received the second-starting spot for the dash redraw and charged to the victory to lock into the pole position for the feature.

Jonathan paced the first half of the $1,000-to-win feature before surrendering the top spot on a mid-race restart. He went on to finish second.

On Saturday night, Joiner had redemption on his mind, and he would achieve his goal with a $1,500 victory. For the second-straight night Jonathan set fast time, and then won the dash to earn the pole for the feature. Main event action found him leading all 20 laps to snare the win by a straightaway.

The team now turns their attention to Senoia (Ga.) Raceway, where Joseph Joiner will take the team’s Trading Paints No. 10 Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / Three Trade Consultants/ Base Racing Fuels/ Capital Race Car Super Late Model into battle in a $10,053-to-win Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals event on Saturday night.

Sides Heading to Lone Star State for Texas Two-Step

Inside Line Promotions - BARTLETT, Tenn. (March 1, 2022) - Jason Sides is bound for Texas this weekend to compete in the Texas Two-Step at Cotton Bowl Speedway.

The dirt oval in Paige hosts the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday. It marks the first races for Sides in three weeks after last weekend's action rained out.

"You want to race, but when Mother Nature is around she usually wins this time of year," he said. "The last few years it seems like we've raced a little bit, got going and had to stop again. It honestly feels normal."

Sides has competed in four previous World of Outlaws main events at the track, earning career-best 14th-place finishes in 2018 and last year.

"We were there a couple of times and it got rained out," he said. "We went there last year and it seems like they've got the place a little racier. I'm looking forward to going somewhere we've been so you know what you are doing from the start. This kicks off our year before going to California. It's always good to get out there and see everybody. We've done decent there in the past, but it all depends on how the night starts out."

This weekend marks the start of a long road trip for Sides as the World of Outlaws ventures to the West Coast for three straight weeks in California before invading the Midwest.

Hagar Invading I-30 Speedway to Start Season at Wingless Short Track Nationals

Inside Line Promotions - MARION, Ark. (March 1, 2022) - Derek Hagar plans to begin his 2022 season this weekend when he tackles the Wingless Short Track Nationals.

I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., hosts the two-day non-wing sprint car event featuring the ASCS Elite Non-Wing Sprint Cars on Friday and Saturday.

"I look at it as any other race," Hagar said. "We want to go out there, be competitive and try to win the race. Friday pays $1,000 to win and Saturday pays $5,000 to win so it's a pretty good payout. Hopefully we can capitalize on it and start the year with a bang.

"I feel better this year than I ever have. I've been in the gym with a personal trainer three days a week. I've lost quite a bit of weight. I feel really good physically and mentally."

Hagar ran three non-wing sprint car races last year. He was victorious during an ASCS Elite Non-Wing Sprint Cars event last June, when he advanced from ninth to third place in a heat race before winning the feature at Crowleys Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Ark. Hagar placed 15th and 19th, respectively, during the inaugural Wingless Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway last August.

"The win was the first non-wing race we'd run in a while," he said. "Then we ran the Wingless Short Track Nationals at the end of the summer and we weren't very good. There's some things we're going to change and then hopefully we'll be better.

"We have to keep our nose clean. Hopefully we have a track where we can move around and pass some race cars. If we get that and keep our nose clean I think we can have a great weekend."
