Joseph Joiner Storms Through Hunt the Front Weekend with Pair of Wins
Jesse Enterkin Adds First-Career 604 Crate Late Model Victory

MILTON, Fla. (04/03/23) – Hunt the Front found its pilots enjoying a successful weekend in the team’s entries.

Joseph Joiner stormed to a pair of victories aboard his Base Racing Fuel No. 10 Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors / Three Trade Consultants / Longhorn Race Car Super Late Model. He banked his first-career Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals win on Friday night at Alabama’s Buckshot Speedway before storming to the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) triumph on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Meanwhile, Jesse Enterkin registered his first-career 604 Crate Late Model win on Friday night at Buckshot Speedway aboard his Langenfelder Mechanical Contractors No. 1 HTF Base Racing Fuel / Capital Race Car.

“What a great weekend for our team. It’s not easy to unload and maintain two cars on any night at any track, much less to see both cars go to Victory Lane. It says a lot about how hard this team works,” Joseph Joiner said. “Buckshot (Speedway) has been good to us. We’ve been there three times and we’ve won three times, so I’m liking that place pretty good these days. It was our first time there with the Longhorn (Race Car), so I didn’t really know exactly how to set it up, but we went pretty close to baseline, and it was on point.

“Saturday at Whynot (Motorsports Park) this thing was on a rail, and we got another win. Thanks so much to everyone, who supports this program. We’re focused on going after $25,000 this coming weekend in the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series openers at All-Tech (Raceway).”

Hunt the Front turned a last-minute decision into a pair of wins on Friday night at Buckshot Speedway (Clanton, Ala.). Joseph Joiner bested the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Super Late Model action, while Jesse Enterkin wired the field in the 604 Late Model ranks.

With 32 Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals Super Late Model racers in attendance, Joseph qualified fastest in his group to earn the outside-front-row starting spot for the 40-lap feature.

Bolting to the lead at the drop of the green flag, Joiner drove away from the pack to score the $7,553 triumph, which marked his first with the tour. His fifth win of the 2023 season came ahead of Dillon Tidmore, Ross Bailes, Haiden Cowan, and Kenny Collins.

Meanwhile, Jesse Enterkin dominated the 604 Late Model portion of the event. He qualified fastest overall in time trials, and then proceeded to lead every lap of the feature for his first-career 604 Late Model victory.

On Saturday evening the team traveled west to Whynot (Miss.) Motorsports Park with both Joiner and Enterkin in action once again.

For the second-straight night Joseph stormed to a Super Late Model win, this time with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) Super Late Models. Joiner set fast time in his group in qualifying before winning the dash to earn the pole position for the feature.

Leading all but the first circuit, Joiner stormed to his sixth win of the year, which was worth $3,000. Neil Baggett, Jeremy Shaw, Brian Rickman, and Kyle Beard rounded out the Top-5 finishers in the 40 lapper.

Jesse Enterkin entered into the night's Crate Racin' USA 604 Late Model action. He rebounded from struggles in qualifying finish second in his heat race, which locked him into the fourth-starting spot for the feature. He notched a fourth-place in the B-Main behind Luke Bennett, Chris McElhenney, and Jason Henry.

“Finally got a 604 (Crate Late Model) win on Friday night!,” Enterkin shared. “This ole thing was stuck and made my job easy. Whynot is one tough racetrack. I didn’t do as good as I was hoping on Saturday, and buried myself early in qualifying and ended the night a solid fourth-place finish. Those Mississippi boys can get down! Overall, it was a great weekend of racing.”

Full weekend results are available at www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com and www.WhynotMotorsportsPark.com .

Joseph will look to continue his early-season momentum this Friday and Saturday with the debut weekend for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series presented by Sweet Victory Apparel. The weekend is headlined by a $5,000-to-win affair on Friday and a $20,000-to-win program on Saturday.

Overton advanced from the sixth-starting spot and took the lead on the 40th circuit en route to his second win of the season with the series and his second-straight Jimmy Thomas Memorial triumph.

“East Alabama (Motor Speedway) is a place I always enjoy going to. Starting back there in sixth against this caliber of competition you never know if you’ll be able to get to the front, but 53 laps is a long time and gave us time to get the job done,” Overton said. “We’re looking forward to having Kyle Busch drive a team car to us this Thursday at Bulls Gap (Volunteer Speedway). It’s a pretty neat deal, and hopefully we can battle it out for the $20,000 winner’s check.”

Wells Motorsports and Brandon Overton visited East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday afternoon to compete with the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals for the annual running of the Jimmy Thomas Memorial.
In a field of 21 cars, Overton timed in sixth-fastest in qualifying before placing third in his heat race. Cade Dillard Scores USMTS Cajun Clash Opener Victory

ROBELINE, La. (04/03/23) – Cade Dillard picked up his first win of the 2023 season on Thursday evening with a $3,000 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) victory behind the wheel of his S&S Fishing & Rental Inc. No. 97 Bass Bucks and Birds / CDR Race Car / Mullins Racing Engine Modified.

“We hit the ground running on Friday night and got the victory. Ark-La-Tex (Speedway) is where I got my first USMTS win. It’s been a long road since then, and I’m just thankful for the opportunities I’ve had. I never thought I'd still be racing, much less doing the things I've got to do, but it's a blast. To me there's nothing more fun than Mod racing. There’s not better Modifieds in the country than what races with these guys and I got so much respect for them.” Dillard said. “Unfortunately, from being on top of the world on Friday night our luck kind of went downhill for the rest of the weekend, but we still had fun getting to race close to home with a lot of friends and family around.”

Cade Dillard made the short trip to Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, La.) on Thursday evening to enter his S&S Fishing & Rental No. 97 Modified into battle with the United States Modified Touring Series for the opening round of the 10th annual Cajun Clash.

Amongst a field of 67 cars, Dillard laid down the second-fastest lap in his group before passing three cars in his heat race to finish second. Tracking down pole-starting Colton Horner on the seventh circuit of the feature, Cade paced the field for the remainder of the 35-lapper to claim his first win of the season and 20th-career USMTS victory.

He pocketed a $3,000 payday ahead of Jim Chisholm, Dereck Ramirez, Darron Fuqua, and Chase Holland.

On Friday, Cade followed up a sixth-to-fourth showing in his heat race with a consolation victory. Rebounding in the feature after suffering an early flat tire, Dillard charged from the tail to finish 15th.

For Saturday’s Cajun Clash finale, Dillard crossed the line in first in his heat but was disqualified in post-race tech. He was a scratch from the $10,000-to-win main event.

Full results from the event are available at www.USMTS.com .

The team will be idle this weekend and is evaluating options for the following weekend. The next confirmed dates on the tour will see Cade returning to the driver’s seat of his No. 97 Super Late Model on April 20-22 with a World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series tripleheader that entails visits to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) and Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.).

Beford Speedway and Port Royal Speedway on Tap this Week

HYNDMAN, Pa. (04/03/23) – Drake Troutman topped Saturday’s Super Late Model action at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway, which marked the third different division he’s parked in Victory Lane in 2023.

The win came aboard his new Wheeler Fleet Solutions / RFI Resources No. 7 Stone Natural Resources / Longhorn Chassis / Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model. Added together with his previous victories in Legend Cars and Modifieds, Troutman now has five wins on the season.

“Never in a million years did I think we’d go up there to Port Royal (Speedway) and win. I couldn’t be more happy with this new Longhorn Race Car,” Troutman said. “We had a pretty good day overall at Beford (Speedway) on Sunday as well in both the Modified and the Super Late Model. I’m looking forward to heading back to both places this week.”

With the Illini 100 weekend at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) falling to unfavorable weather, Drake Troutman made the short trip to Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his Wheeler Fleet Solutions No. 7 Longhorn Chassis Late Model.

After topping his time trial group in qualifying, Drake’s fourth-to-first run in his heat race placed him on the pole for the feature. Leading flag-to-flag in the 25-lap affair, Troutman took his fifth win of the season ahead of Dylan Yoder, Gregg Satterlee, Rick Eckert, and Trever Feathers. He earned $4,000 for his first-career Port Royal Speedway Super Late Model win.

Pulling double duty on Sunday afternoon at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway, Troutman secured his spot into the Modified feature with a heat race win, while he was an early exit in his Late Model heat on the fourth circuit.

Charging from 19th in the 25-lap Late Model feature, Drake passed 12 cars to register a seventh-place finish. In the Modified ranks, Troutman jumped up two spots in the main event to finish second, chasing pole-starting Mitch Thomas to the checkers.

Mallett Tackling Super Bee Speedway for First Time This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions - GREENBRIER, Ark. (April 3, 2023) - Jordon Mallett is bound for Louisiana this weekend.

Super Bee Speedway in Chatham hosts what is now scheduled as the ASCS National Tour's season-opening doubleheader after the first two attempts this season rained out.

"The car has been sitting here ready to go for the last few weeks," Mallett said. "There's only so much you can do on the car. We put new pieces together and everything is fresh. You can work on them as much as you can, but our main focus is preparedness elsewhere. There's always plenty to do in the shop or the trailer."

The races this Friday and Saturday mark Mallett's first trip to the dirt oval, which last hosted an ASCS National Tour event in June 2012.

"I've never been down there," he said. "They don't run sprint cars but once every once in a while. I don't have any notes or any ideas of what to expect. I don't think there will be many people with notebooks either. When we go somewhere new we can adapt pretty quickly."

Although the first four races of the ASCS National Tour season have rained out, Mallett is optimistic heading into this weekend after he spent a month in January and February logging laps in Florida. His nine races through March are the most in his career.

"I was super glad the schedule worked out where we could run a bunch of weekends in a row in Florida and turn some laps before the real season starts," he said. "You want to start racing regularly in March and the next thing you know you're in May and have only run two or three races. I feel like we made a lot of ground on these cars and did a bunch of testing with trial and error in Florida. I feel better than we typically do this time of the year."

9 races, 0 wins, 1 top five, 4 top 10s, 4 top 15s, 5 top 20s

Bayston and CJB Motorsports consistent in Texas Outlaw Nationals; US 36 Raceway and 81 Speedway stops next

2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Standings: T-7th | 1296 points

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

CARLISLE, Pa. (April 3, 2023) - Back-to-back nights of competition resulted in back-to-back top-ten finishes for Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports, capping the two-day Texas Outlaw Nationals at the historic Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with eighth and ninth-place finishes, respectively. In fact, Bayston was a top-ten threat from beginning to end, as the reigning World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year started no worse than eighth in the weekend pair, that being in the $20,000-to-win finale.

Bayston’s Texas top-ten sweep not only padded his season’s stat chart, bumping his World of Outlaws top-ten total to five in his first ten starts, but the Lebanon, Indiana, native is now tied for seventh in the World of Outlaws championship standings, accumulating the same point total as ten-time Series champion, Donny Schatz.

“Top-ten finishes and maintaining consistency are never a bad thing. The track didn’t allow for a ton of passing this weekend, which is kinda disappointing because I’m confident we may have been better than where we finished,” Bayston, ace of the TrueTimber Camo, Rothco, JRC Transportation, Nyce Crete and Landis, Ecynbro Trucking, C&S Lawn and Landscape, Kistler Engines, No. 5 sprint car, said. “These new tires are taking some time to get a hold of. We thought we were where we needed to be, but after this weekend, we may have to start taking a different approach.”

Bayston’s weekend stat sheet also included a dash appearance in Friday’s Texas Outlaw Nationals opener; he finished sixth. That same evening, Bayston recorded the fourth-fastest time in qualifying time trials.

“We’re determined to better ourselves,” Bayston added. “We plan to swap these top-tens for top-fives.”

ON DECK:
Spencer Bayston and CJB Motorsports will continue their 2023 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with another action-packed weekend through the Midwest, this time visiting US 36 Raceway in Osborn, Missouri, and 81 Speedway in Wichita, Kansas, on Friday and Saturday, April 7-8. The stop at 81 Speedway - the fifth annual Jason Johnson Classic - will award a $20,000 payday.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (April 3, 2023) - Ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion, Donny Schatz, is certainly no stranger to the historic Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, and although the Fargo, North Dakota, native was short of attaining top-ten outcomes in the two-day Texas Outlaw Nationals, he was successful in maintaining consistency, finishing 12th and 11th, respectively, while visiting the birthplace of the Outlaws.

Although missing the ultimate goal, and faced with limited passing conditions, Schatz, ace of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, MadJax XSeries, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, did manage to move forward in both nights of the Texas Outlaw Nationals; 15th to 12th the first evening followed by a bump from 12th to 11th in the $20,000-to-win finale.
