Inaugural Kenneth Mitchell Memorial Just a Week Away at 67 Speedway
Headlined by Over $6,000 Possible to Win for Crate Late Models

Texarkana, Arkansas (07/16/21) – Less than a week remains until the inaugural Kenneth Mitchell Memorial comes to life at 67 Speedway of Texarkana. The weekend – which spans – Thursday – Saturday, July 22-24 – is headlined by a $5,555-To-Win / $555-To-Start Crate Late Model finale.

The event marks the biggest to date at the southwest Arkansas facility since veteran racer Duke Whiseant took over the helm of the ¼-mile oval. The race, which pays homage to the late Kenneth Mitchell, who was a Texarkana racer and engine builder (Kenneth’s High Performance), is shaping up to a stellar event.

“This is pretty awesome to see all of the people, who are stepping up to make my dad’s race so big,” said Jon Mitchell, son of the late Kenneth Mitchell. “My dad loved racing, and he instilled that in me. He did a lot to help guys in our area with their racing programs, and many of those same people are now supporting this event. It all really means a lot, and I’m looking forward to it.”

With bonuses in place, one Crate Late Model driver could win over $6,000 in cash throughout the weekend. Added bonuses include a Team 5 Enterprise-sponsored $555 Fast Time Award, which also gives the fastest qualifier the option of starting 21st in Saturday’s finale, if he or she fails to qualify via preliminary action. Also the leader on lap 5 of the feature receives a $155 bonus, courtesy of Nick Hines, while a $155 Hard Charger Award is being sponsored by Bulletproof Tees.

The 22nd-starting spot in the feature will be auctioned off with the opening bid starting at $555.

Additionally, Razor Edge Graphics is sponsoring a $100 award for a lucky fan for the feature, which will be chosen via the redraw, and J&J Motorsports is sponsoring an additional $55 for the 10th-place finishers in Saturday night’s finales.

Sharing the spotlight throughout the big weekend of racing is the Limited Modifieds ($1,555-To-Win / $150-To-Start) and the Factory Stocks ($1,555-To-Win / $150-To-Start). Meanwhile, the Four Cylinder FWD division will get their chance to shine each night with a complete $250-To-Win program

Action kicks off with an Open Practice Session from 8-10 p.m. CST on Thursday night. Grandstands will be closed. Pit admission will be $20.
