Cla Knight Makes Program Changes for 2019
Set to Open 2019 Season with Screven Motor Speedway’s Winter Freeze

North Augusta, South Carolina (01/22/19) – Cla Knight is set to kick off his second full-season of Super Late Model competition in 2019. While the look of his familiar Augusta Aquatics #42 E-Z-GO Golf Carts/ M&W Transport/ Maxxis Kart Racing Super Late Model will be similar to last season, there’s a definitive change in his program for the new year.

“Over the past few years the folks at Longhorn Chassis have been really good to us, but for 2019 we’ve made the decision to switch to Capital Race Cars,” Knight commented. “After meeting with Marshall Green, with Capital Race Cars, we really like the direction their program is heading and are very impressed with their entire operation. In addition, Chris Madden is a great friend and mentor of ours and with him making the move to Marshall Green and Capital Race Cars for this season, it further reinforced our decision to make the switch.”

After enjoying success in the Crate Late Model ranks over the past few years, Knight spent much of the 2018 season learning the ropes of the Super Late Model division.

“I’ll be honest that it was a bigger adjustment than I expected it to be,” Knight stated in regards to the Super Late Model division. “We learned a lot throughout the year, and we also resolved some problems late in the season that had been hampering us. I’m excited for this year.”

As Cla prepares for his 2019 endeavors, he wants to thank all of his marketing partners that make his program possible.

“This isn’t a cheap sport, and we’ve got some fantastic supporters behind us. From the bottom of my heart I thank everyone who sponsors resources to our program,” Knight said. “I especially want to thank Carl Sherwood and Wes Sherwood with M&W Transport, Mike Parkhurst with E-Z-GO, and Todd and Patti Owens with Maxxis Kart Racing. These folks go above and beyond to support our team.  I also want to welcome Jeff Robinson, with Buffalo Bar & Grill out of Greenwood, SC, as a new sponsor for our 2019 season.”

The team will lift the lid on their 2019 season on February 8-9 at Red Griffin’s Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia) during the annual Winter Freeze. The event will be highlighted by a pair of $10,000-to-win, World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series events.
