Cla Knight Posts Fourth-Place Finish at Screven
Gobbler 100 Weekend at Cochran Up Next

North Augusta, S.C. (11/26/19) – Cla Knight registered a solid fourth-place finish on Friday at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) in his Millwood Plumbing No. 42 E-Z-GO/ M&W Transport/ August Aquatics/ Barry Wright Race Cars Super Late Model.

“We had a good piece. This was a solid weekend overall,” Knight said. “A bit of heart break on Sunday at Gaffney [Cherokee Speedway]. Our BWRC Icon was flawless, just some bad luck. I’m definitely looking forward to this weekend at Cochran.”

Friday night found Cla Knight entering the ULTIMATE Southeast Series event at Screven Motor Speedway. Drawing 20 cars for the Georgia State Outlaw Championship, Knight recorded the third fastest lap in his time trial group which positioned him fifth on the starting grid for the $5,000-to-win A-Main.

Improving one spot in the 40-lap affair, Cla recorded a fourth-place finish behind Chris Ferguson, Zack Mitchell, and Jeff Smith. Kyle Hardy completed the top-five finishers.

Complete results from the event can be found at www.ULTIMATESupers.com.

After losing Saturday night’s Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event at Lancaster Speedway (Lancaster, S.C.) to Mother Nature, Knight traveled to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Sunday afternoon for the 29th Annual Blue-Gray 100.

In a stout field of 38 entries, Cla came in second in his heat behind Jimmy Owens, sending him into the redraw, where he received the fifth-starting position for the $10,000-to-win finale.

Unfortunately, Knight suffered transmission issues early in the feature that saw him an early retiree from the 100-lapper. He was credited with a 21st-place finish in the final rundown.

Full results from the event are available at www.CarolinaClash.com.

This weekend, November 29th-30th, will find Cla Knight at Cochran (Ga.) Motor Speedway for the annual Gobbler 100. The action includes a $5,000-to-win program for Super Late Models on Friday, leading up to a $15,000-to-win finale on Saturday.

Jeff Taylor Finds Victory Lane in Arizona
Increases 2019 Win Talley to Nine

Cave City, Ark. (11/26/19) – Jeff Taylor held off R.C. Whitwell on the final circuit to win Sunday’s Desert Thunder Nationals finale at Central Arizona Speedway in Casa Grande, Ariz. The victory came aboard Taylor’s Industrial Electric No. 5 Spur Bar/ Wehrs Machine/ Provence Construction/ Shaw Race Car Modified.

“We got a little more balance in the car today,” Taylor said afterward.  “We held on; the car was pretty good so we’re happy with that.”

“It’s different racing here in the day.  You can see the shadow off of two,” Taylor explained.  “I knew if he ever got beside me and I saw his shadow that I would be in trouble.  But I couldn’t run down there so there wasn’t anything I could do about it so if he passed me, then more power to him.”

Returning on his western swing, Jeff Taylor along with 40 other IMCA Modified drivers converged at Central Arizona Speedway for the 6th Annual Desert Thunder Nationals. Taylor started the night off with a heat race victory which positioned him second on the starting grid for the finale.

Jeff jumped into the lead at the outset of the feature and led throughout. A final caution with five laps remaining put a hard-charging Whitwell on Taylor’s rear bumper, but Taylor was up to the task and fought off Whitwell’s last gasp bid for the lead.

Taylor’s ninth victory of the season came ahead of Whitwell, Alex Stanford, Chaz Baca, and Jason Noll.

Earlier in the weekend, Taylor fell just one spot short of a transfer position into Friday night’s main event. Jeff improved on his performance on Saturday, recording an eighth-place finish in the 25-lap A-Main after starting 14th.

Full results from these events are available at www.CentralArizonaSpeedway.com .
