BATAVIA, OH (May 1, 2017) - The stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will venture to Tennessee and Kentucky next week for an action-packed doubleheader. The Series returns to Tazewell Speedway on Friday, May 5th before heading to Florence Speedway on Saturday, May 6th.

Tazewell Speedway, better known as "The Bad Fast Taz," is accustomed to thrilling, edge of your seat racing action, lap after lap. Regional standouts such as Billy Ogle Jr., Donald McIntosh, Chad Ogle, Dakotah Knuckles, Jeff Wolfenbarger, and others are expected to battle the stars of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the "Toyota Knoxville 50." The event will include a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $10,000-to-win main event. Also on the racing program for Friday, May 5th are the Sportsman, Super Streets, and Classic Cars.

In 2016, a battle of two home-state Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers saw Scott Bloomquist fight off challenges by Jimmy Owens to win the Toyota Knoxville 50. Steve Francis finished third, followed by Dennis Erb Jr. and Don O'Neal.

Florence Speedway will host the 31st Annual Ralph Latham Memorial, in honor of the late Ralph Latham. Latham, a long-time Cincinnati area racer, lost his battle with cancer in August of 1986. The historic, 1/2-mile oval has produced some of the most memorable events in series history. Scott Bloomquist will return as the defending race winner. The event will feature a complete program of: Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, and B-Mains - highlighted by the 60-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. The Open Wheel Modifieds and Crate Late Models will also be in action on Saturday, May 6th.
