Magnolia Motor Speedway Welcomes Big River Steel as Clash at the Mag Presenting Sponsor
Arkansas-Based Company Presents LOLMDS Event on May 30-June 1

Columbus, Mississippi (May 13, 2019) – With just three weeks remaining until the annual Clash at the Mag comes to life at Magnolia Motor Speedway, officials with the facility are excited to announce that Big River Steel will be the presenting sponsor for the massive weekend, which is set for May 30-June 1.

“This year’s Clash at the Mag is the biggest event in the history of Magnolia Motor Speedway and to have Big River Steel on board as the presenting sponsor makes it that much bigger,” Magnolia Motor Speedway promoter Johnny Stokes said. “Big River Steel is allowing us to take this event to the next level, and I’m extremely honored to have them on board.

“With a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature scheduled each night, it’s got the buzz among drivers and fans at an all-time high. I think I speak for everyone, when I say that the event can’t get here soon enough.”

For the first time ever, the Clash at the Mag presented by Big River Steel will see three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs contested. Thursday, May 30 will be highlighted by a $5,000-to-win feature as will the program on Friday, May 31. The historic weekend draws to a close on Saturday, June 1 with a $15,000-to-win finale. That means one driver could claim over $25,000 in cash throughout the course of the mega weekend.

Big River Steel is no stranger to the Dirt Late Model world. They are a major sponsor of Devin Moran’s Dunn-Benson Motorsports No. 1 Super Late Model race team and they are looking to expand their participation in the racing world in the coming years.

Big River Steel Chief Executive Officer Dave Stickler stated, “the Magnolia Motor Speedway is a great facility and we are excited to support the Clash at the Mag. We have many employees at Big River Steel that are enthusiastic race fans. I know many of them will be on hand to cheer on our race team and help ensure a great event for all.”

In 2018 Indiana’s Hudson O’Neal made history by scoring his first LOLMDS victory in the event. Joining Hudson O’Neal for this year’s expanded event will be a host of hungry LOLMDS Super Late Model competitors. The invasion will be led by two-time and defending series champion and current point’s leader Jonathan Davenport from Blairsville, Georgia. He’ll be followed into battle by Earl Pearson Jr., Tyler Erb, Jimmy Owens, Don O’Neal, Big River Steel’s Devin Moran, Josh Richards, Kyle Bronson, Tim McCreadie, Shanon Buckingham, Billy Moyer Jr., Jason Jameson, Ryan King, Stormy Scott and a host of others.

As always, the traveling contingent will face a formidable challenge against the regional standouts. Drivers like Neil Baggett, Brian Rickman, Rick Rickman, Dane Dacus, Chad Thrash, Eric Cooley, and many more will be looking to upset the traveling stars.
