Clash at The Mag Presented by Big River Steel Set to Come To Life
Magnolia Motor Speedway’s Mega Event Set for May 30 – June 1

Columbus, Mississippi (05/29/19) – In less than 24 hours Magnolia Motor Speedway will kick off the 2019 edition of the Clash at the Mag Presented by Big River Steel. The mega event spans May 30, 31 and June 1st, 2019 and will see many of the nation’s top dirt track racers converged on the state-of-the-art facility.

For the first time ever, the Clash at the Mag presented by Big River Steel will see three Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series programs contested. Thursday, May 30 will be highlighted by a $5,000-to-win feature as will the program on Friday, May 31. The historic weekend draws to a close on Saturday, June 1 with a $15,000-to-win finale. That means one driver could claim over $25,000 in cash throughout the course of the mega weekend.

“This year’s Clash at the Mag is the biggest event in the history of Magnolia Motor Speedway and to have Big River Steel on board as the presenting sponsor makes it that much bigger,” Magnolia Motor Speedway promoter Johnny Stokes said. “With a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature scheduled each night, it’s got the buzz among drivers and fans at an all-time high. I think I speak for everyone, when I say that the event can’t get here soon enough.”

Each night’s program will be will be taped all three nights for a later TV broadcast on the MAVTV Network and Saturdays main event taped for a NBC Sports Network TV broadcast later in 2019.

The program on Thursday night, May 30 is headlined by a $5,000-to-win, LOLMDS program. In addition, the Mississippi Street Stock Series (MSSS) competitors will compete for a $500 top prize. In addition, there will be practice sessions for the Durrence Layne Late Models, Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks, Glenn’s BBQ & Fish Late Model Sportsman and Hot Shots held throughout the night. The driver’s meeting is at 7:00 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m and racing action to follow.

On Friday, May 31 the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers will once again contest a complete $5,000-to-win event. In addition, the program includes MSSS Street Stocks ($1,000-to-win/ $75-to-start), Durrence Layne Late Models ($700-to-win/ $50-to-start), Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($500-to-win/ $50-to-start), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($300-to-win/ $50-to-start). The drivers meeting is at 7:00 p.m. with hot laps at 7:30 p.m and racing action to follow.

The Clash at The Mag presented by Big River Steel culminates with a huge finale night on Saturday, June 1. The night is headlined by the LOLMDS Super Late Models battling for $15,000-to-win in a 100-lap feature!  Also on the night’s card are MSSS Street Stocks ($1,000-to-win/ $75-to-start, Durrence Layne Late Models ($1,000-to-win/ $50-to-start, Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman ($500-to-win/ $50-to-start), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($400-to-win/ $50-to-start) and Hot Shots. Saturday night’s drivers meeting is at 6:30 p.m. with racing action starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

In 2018 Indiana’s Hudson O’Neal made history by scoring his first LOLMDS victory in the event. Joining Hudson O’Neal for this year’s expanded event will be a host of hungry LOLMDS Super Late Model competitors. The invasion will be led by two-time and defending series champion and current point’s leader Jonathan Davenport from Blairsville, Georgia. He’ll be followed into battle by Earl Pearson Jr., Tyler Erb, Jimmy Owens, Don O’Neal, Big River Steel’s Devin Moran, Josh Richards, Kyle Bronson, Tim McCreadie, Shanon Buckingham, Billy Moyer Jr., Jason Jameson, Ryan King, Stormy Scott and a host of others.
