Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 Kicks Off Tomorrow
Mega Event Set for September 26-28 at Magnolia Motor Speedway


Columbus, Mississippi (09/25/19) – In just a tick over 24 hours the 2019 edition of the Country Pleasin’ Sausage Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 comes to life at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

After seeing an Open Practice Session held on Thursday, September 26 there will be a complete $4,000-to-win/$300-to-start program on Friday, September 27 for the Super Late Models. On Saturday, September 28 the Super Late Model division will compete in a complete program that culminates with a $12,000-to-win/ $700-to-start, 70-lap finale.

Joining the Super Late Models on the weekend’s docket are big events for the Durrence Layne Late Models, Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman, MSSS Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks, Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks and Hot Shots (Saturday ONLY).

The 2019 Country Pleasin’ Sausage Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 will be held on Thursday-Saturday, September 26-28.

Early entries include defending champion, Dale McDowell along with Darrell Lanigan, Tanner English, Mike Marlar, Billy Moyer, Timothy Culp, Chris Brown, Brian Rickman, Riley Hickman, Rick Rickman, David Gentry, Brandon Overton, Garrett Alberson, Morgan Bagley, Shay Knight, Dane Dacus, Hunter Rasdon, Michael Arnold, Austin Rettig, Zach McMillan, Colton Horner, Jamie Elam, Jadon Frame, Kyle Beard, Chad Thrash, Jonathan Rowan, Austin Arnold, Ray McElhiney, Eric Cooley, Jay Scott and more.

With early entry not required even more drivers are expected to be arriving and registering the day of the show.

In 2018, Chris Ferguson and Dale McDowell split Super Late Model wins in the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100.

Magnolia State 100 founder, Dewitt Singleton has added additional money to the Super Late Model payout. If a Super Late Model driver can sweep both nights, they will receive a $2,000 bonus. In addition, for Saturday night’s finale, all of the non-qualifier’s will have their names tossed into a hat and the 25th starter will be randomly drawn. The starting spot is worth at least $700.

The Durrence Layne Late Models will be competing for a $3,000 top prize. MSSS Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks will be competing for $2,000-to-win. Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks will be competing for $1,000-to-win, and Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman will race for $1,500-to-win. Hots Shots will compete on Saturday night only and will be battling for $200-to-win (up to 9 Cars), $300-to-win (10-15 Cars) or $500-to-win (16 plus Cars).

Saturday Fast-Time Award: $200 presented by Penske Truck Rental (Columbus, MS)

A $2,000 bonus is posted for any driver, who can win both Super Late Model features.

Durrence Layne Late Models will also be in action battling for $3,000-to-win/ $200-to-start with a $100 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

The MSSS Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stock division will be headlined by a $2,000-to-win/$100-to-start event with a $75 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

The Ranch House Diner Factory Stock will be headlined by a $1,000-to-Win/$100-to-start program with a $25 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman division will be headlined by a $1,500-to-Win/$100-to-start finale with a $50 Entry Fee. Magnolia Motor Speedway Rules Apply.

Hots Shots will compete on Saturday night only and will be battling for $200-to-win (up to 9 Cars), $300-to-win (10-15 Cars) or $500-to-win (16 plus Cars).

Open practice begins Thursday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m. for all divisions.

Friday night will see preliminary action for the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ 100 held. Super Late Models compete in a complete program that culminates with a $4,000-to-win/ $300-to-start feature. Durrence Layne Late Models, MSSS Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks, Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks and Glenn’s BBQ and Fish Late Model Sportsman will run their heat races. 

On Saturday at noon the Carl Hanson Memorial BBQ lunch will be held in the grandstand area. Donations will be accepted for the barbecue plates with all money raised going to the Magnolia Racing Benefit Fund, which helps racers and their families in times of need.

B-Mains for all divisions will be contested on Saturday night along with a complete $12,000-to-win/ $700-to-start program for the Super Late Models, and a complete Hot Shots program. Last but not least, the Magnolia State Cotton Pickin’ Championships feature events will be held for all divisions.
