Mallett Records ASCS Mid-South Region Triumph at Crowleys Ridge

Inside Line Promotions - PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 13, 2022) - Jordon Mallett earned his second straight feature victory last Friday at Crowleys Ridge Raceway, which hosted an ASCS Mid-South Region event.

"We felt pretty good in hot laps and we decided to let the track come to us a little bit," he said. "We were good in the heat race and went from fourth to second. We were chasing Cody (Gardner) and felt the car was pretty close."

Mallett's run in a heat race from fourth to second place advanced him into the feature redraw and he pulled the No. 3 to start the A Main on the inside of the second row.

"We fine-tuned it a bit for the feature," he said. "I knew we were in good shape coming off the exit of turn two on the first lap. We were three wide for the lead. I expected to be a little snug early on and let the track come to us, but right off the bat the car was doing what I wanted it to do.

"Cody and I had a good race for about the first 10 laps. He was ripping the top and I was forced to run the bottom. They gave us such a good track to do that with. I led several of those 10 laps and he led a few of them, but I didn't seal the deal around Lap 10. Once I cleared him I swapped lanes and went to the top on one end and stayed on the hub on the other. I kept my momentum up to where they'd have to slide me to pass me and if they did I could turn and go back under them.

"I got slid once. I got crossed up trying to change my line and got slid going into turn three. I crossed him back up and was still leading by the time we got to the flagstand. We were really good and didn't have to show all of our cards. It's always good, clean racing with Cody. We can go at it hard and put on a really good show for the fans."

The victory was his second career with the ASCS Mid-South Region.

Mallett plans on racing with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Friday at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark., and Saturday at Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La.

Hagar Produces Sixth-Place Outing at Crowleys Ridge Raceway

Inside Line Promotions - PARAGOULD, Ark. (June 14, 2022) - Derek Hagar posted a sixth-place result last Friday at Crowleys Ridge Raceway, marking only the fourth race this season that he didn't finish in the top five.

"We were fighting some issues with the updates to our new ASCS motor," he said. "We have some tuning to do on it and are still trying to figure out some stuff on it. That put us behind the eight ball."

Hagar advanced from fifth to fourth place in a heat race to line up 10 th in the ASCS Mid-South Region main event.

"We didn't get enough points in the heat race to make the feature redraw," he said. "Starting 10th in the feature, there was a lot of dirty air. I was trying to make the top work and fell back quite a bit. I think I was 14th or 15th. I started moving around and we made our way up to sixth. On restarts I was able to rip the top to get by cars. As the race went on the top wasn't as fast as the bottom. You had to make quick work on restarts and hurry up to get back to the bottom.

"You always want to do more, but it didn't work out for us. Sixth place is still a pretty good finish. We know we're capable of doing better. We just had a little gremlin with the motor. Once we get it figured out we've got a good piece."

Hagar owns a 106-point lead in the ASCS Mid-South Region championship standings.

He plans on joining the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour this Friday at Texarkana 67 Speedway in Texarkana, Ark., where the event is also sanctioned with the ASCS Mid-South Region, before competing in the Greg Hodnett Memorial on Saturday at Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

"We haven't been to Texarkana 67 Speedway so we're looking forward to racing with the ASCS National Tour there," Hagar said. "And the Greg Hodnett Memorial is a race we really want to win. We've been fortunate to win some of the biggest events in West Memphis and it'd mean a lot to add the Greg Hodnett Memorial to that list."

Ryan Timms Tops POWRi 410 c.i Sprint Car Action at Lake Ozark
Buffalo Wild Wings Triple Crown Up Next

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (06/14/22) –
Ryan Timms piloted his CitGard Engine Oil / driveWFX.com No. 5T CITGO / Hampel Oil / Western Flyer Xpress / Mystik Lubricants / Eagle Chassis/ Rider Racing Engine Sprint Car to his fifth win of the season on Saturday night.

His latest conquest came with the POWRi Outlaw Sprint League at Missouri’s Lake Ozark Speedway as the series held it’s first-ever event.

“It was another busy weekend, where we had to dodge Mother Nature, but we managed to get three races in the books. We won at Lake Ozark Speedway and finished no worse than fourth, so it was definitely a good weekend for our team. It was really cool to win the first-ever POWRi 410 c.i. Wing Outlaw Sprint League event,” Timms said. “I’m looking forward to the three-race weekend coming up at Jackson (Motorplex) and Husets (Speedway), and we’re going to take our best shot at the $10,000 bonus for winning all three races. As always a big thank you goes out all of our great marketing partners.”

With Friday’s opener at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Mo.) rained out, Ryan Timms made a last-minute stop at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Ill.) to compete with the Midwest Open Wheel Association (MOWA) Sprint Cars.

After starting the night with a heat race victory, Timms maneuvered forward four spots in the 25-lap feature to place third. He followed Jake Neuman and Joe B. Miller across the line.

Trekking to Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Mo.) on Saturday, Timms joined the Lucas Oil POWRi 410 c.i. Wing Outlaw Sprint League competitors at the Missouri oval.

With 20 entries converged at the 1/3-mile oval, Ryan followed up the second-fastest lap in time trials with a second-place finish in his heat race.

Overtaking fellow front-row starter Brady Bacon near the midway point of the 25-lap feature, Timms kept Bacon and a hard-charging Blake Hahn at bay to capture his first-career Lucas Oil POWRi 410 c.i. victory and his fifth overall win of the 2022 campaign.

He scored the $5,000 payday ahead of Bacon, Hahn, Roger Crockett, and Garret Williamson.

For the weekend finale on Sunday afternoon at Huset’s Speedway (Brandon, S.D.), Ryan secured his spot into the Casey’s 410 Outlaw Sprint Car feature with a heat race victory. Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Timms improved six spots in the 25-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish.

Full results from the week are available at
www.MidwestOpenWheel.com , www.POWRi.com , and www.HusetsSpeedway.com .

The upcoming weekend – June 17-19 – has Timms again eyeing a busy slate with three events scheduled at two tracks. On Friday and Saturday The Border Battle presented by Trelleborg takes center stage at Jackson (Minn.) Motorplex with complete shows for the Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) 410 c.i. Sprint Cars. On Sunday evening the Border Battle presented by Dakota Supply takes the team back to Husets Speedway.

A $10,000 Buffalo Wild Wings Triple Crown bonus is on the line if a driver can sweep all three events.

Ryan Timms Racing would like to thank all of their marketing partners, which include CitGard, CITGO, Mystik Lubricants, Hampel Oil, Western Flyer Xpress, driveWFX.com, Xpress Truck Sales, Rider Racing Engines, Griffin Fishing Charters and Lodge, Premier Truck Group, Impact Racing, Factory Kahne by Schure Built, 947-Eyes, Bell Helmets, KR Performance Fuels LLC, Outlaw Wings, AFD Graphix, Inefte Sports, and MyRacePass Marketing Services.
