Parker Martin Ready for the World of Outlaws Bristol Bash
Looks to Make History at ‘The Last Great Colosseum’

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (04/07/21) – 16-year-old Parker Martin has his Martin’s Industrial No. 6jr PMR Aviation / Southeastern Performance / Willy’s Carburetors / Longhorn Chassis / Fox Shocks / Hoosier Tire South / Custom Race Engine Super Late Model ready for a historic weekend. The Georgia driver will take his trusty mount into battle at this weekend’s Bristol Bash.

The World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model Series weekend includes a $10,000-to-win program on Friday, April 9 and a $25,000-to-win finale on Saturday, April 10. For Martin, who is the youngest driver on the invitee list, it’s a chance to both make history on a special stage as well as get his season back on track.

“This is a huge weekend for our team. It means a lot to me to be the youngest driver invited and the only teenager in the field. I know that I belong there, and I believe we can contend for wins this weekend,” Parker said. “We started the year in January with the Outlaws at Volusia (Speedway Park), and we had a ton of speed and things got off to a great start. However, after that we just battled one bad break after another with random mechanical issues that ultimately put us behind the eight ball.

“As a result, we’ve decided to take the rest of this year to regroup, and this weekend will be a big measuring stick to show exactly where we are right now as a team. I turn 17 years old on Friday, and there’d be no better birthday present than to go to Victory Lane at Bristol.”

The legendary ½-mile confines of Bristol Motor Speedway (Bristol, Tenn.) are covered in dirt for this weekend’s WoO Bristol Bash. The weekend gets underway with an Open Practice Session on Thursday before seeing a complete $10,000-to-win program contested on Friday and a $25,000-to-win event on Saturday.

Cade Dillard Finishes Second in Illini 100 Finale at Farmer City
World of Outlaws Bristol Bash Up Next

ROBELINE, La. (04/07/21) – After a spirited battle for the lead in the closing laps of Saturday night’s Illini 100 finale, Cade Dillard came up just short of the $20,000 win in his S&S Fishing & Rental Inc. No. 97 MB Customs/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

From the sixth-starting spot Dillard surged to the lead on a lap 70 restart, and paced the next four laps before Bobby Pierce slipped past on the white flag lap.

“We had such a long green-flag run, and honestly I didn’t even know where I was at,” said Dillard. “Then we had the caution and they said we were third, and then Thornton fell out and that put us in second.

“I was probably just too conservative at the end. I probably should’ve just, when I got to the lead, ripped the top. I was hoping not to get took out being up there in the lead like that, but I was so good through the middle and the bottom the whole race and I stayed there. By the time (crew chief) Donnie (Pederson) pointed at me to get up, it was too late at that point.

“We had a good car,” he added, “but I probably should’ve been a little more aggressive at the end. After the bad luck we’ve had for the few months on the Outlaws tour, we’ll definitely take this finish and look to build on it at Bristol.”

On Friday afternoon, Cade Dillard was one of 46 World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series entries on hand at Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) for the opening round of the two-day Illini 100. After registering the eighth fastest lap in his time trial group, Dillard posted a third-place finish in his heat race. Starting the $6,000-to-win preliminary feature in 12th, Cade advanced forward six spots in the 25-lapper to register a sixth-place finish.

The following night, Cade timed in fourth fastest in his group before placing second in his heat race behind Bobby Pierce. Receiving the sixth-starting position for the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 via the redraw, Dillard powered ahead of Chris Madden for third on lap 67 and overtook Bobby Pierce for the lead three laps later following a lap-70 restart. Unable to keep early race-leader Pierce at bay in the closing laps, Cade Dillard notched a runner-up finish behind Pierce with Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden, and Rick Eckert rounding out the Top-5.

With his runner-up finish on Saturday night, Cade climbed to eighth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings.

"We did all we could," Erb said after the race. "I just needed to win the heat race and put ourselves in a better (feature starting) spot. But these two (Jonathan Davenport and Kyle Larson), they were really fast. They were good at Bristol, and I'm just happy to come home third. It's crazy racing here.

“We’ll take this podium finish and head to Missouri looking for some big checks this coming weekend.”
