Pierce McCarter Teaming with Mastersbilt House Car for Holiday Weekend Races
Plans to Enter Pair of Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Events This Weekend

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (09/03/20) – Pierce McCarter will find himself in new digs this weekend. The 28-year-old racer is joining forces with Tader Masters and the Mastersbilt House Car team for a pair of Labor Day weekend events.

“Tader [Masters] and I were recently connected by a mutual friend in the sport, and we began talking about possibilities. We decided to join forces for a weekend and see how it goes,” McCarter said. “We have zero expectations, and we have zero plans past this weekend’s events. He and I both agreed that we need to take this on a race-by-race basis and then make decisions from there.”

McCarter enjoyed a strong start to the 2020 season in his family-owned McCarter Brothers Racing No. 71 Tennessee Homemade Wines/ Parkway Liquor Store Crate Late Model. On the heels of multiple strong runs, he clinched the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Winter Series championship in early March.

Since then, Pierce has raced sparingly due to a busy work schedule. He’s now ready to get back to action, and is excited by the opportunity in front of him.

“We haven’t raced near as much as I would’ve liked over the past few months because to be perfectly honest, we’ve just been too busy. After spending my days working the family businesses, it’s been hard to find time to work on the racecar in the shop at night. This opportunity with the Masters family could be a great fit for what I need,” McCarter continued. “Again, we have no expectations. We are going to go out, have fun, and see what happens from there. I’m just grateful for the opportunity.”

The team plans to test on Thursday at Tennessee’s 411 Motor Speedway before entering a pair of Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Super Late Model events in the Volunteer State this weekend.

Action opens on Saturday at Smoky Mountain Speedway with the Rockin’ with the Stars Hall of Fame 100, where a $5,000 winner’s check is on the line. From there the action shifts to Tazewell Speedway on Sunday night for the 12th annual Buddy Rogers Memorial, which posts a $4,400 top prize.

Ferguson Records Pair of Top Fives at Port Royal
Busy Labor Day Weekend Ahead

MT. HOLLY, N.C. (09/02/20) – Chris Ferguson made the trek north to Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway over the weekend to compete in a tripleheader with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

The outcome was a pair of Top-5 performances for the driver of the Diff-Tran Machining No. 22 K and K Trucking/ Live Oak Aesthetic and Family Dentistry Super Late Model.

“Two Top-5’s with the best in the country says a lot about our program,” Ferguson said. “I loved the track and the atmosphere of Port Royal Speedway, we’ll definitely be back.”

On Thursday, after Mother Nature dumped a quick shower on the half-mile oval as hot laps were getting underway, Ferguson went on to lay down the eighth fastest time in his group before placing second in his heat race behind Devin Moran.

Earning the 10th-starting position for the $10,000-to-win opening night feature, Chris marched forward six spots to register a fourth place finish behind Tim McCreadie, Kyle Strickler, and Jimmy Owens. Kyle Larson completed the Top-5.

Ferguson kicked off Friday’s $12,000-to-win program by qualifying second in time trial group. Unfortunately, persistent rain showers forced officials to cancel the balance of the program before heat races were completed.

Chris was one of 52 cars signed in on Saturday for the $15,000-to-win finale. Grabbing the third and final transfer spot in his heat race, Ferguson locked into the 16th-starting position for the main event.

Charging his way into the Top-5 by the midway point, Chris passed 12 cars in the 50-lap affair to place fourth behind Kyle Larson, Brandon Sheppard, and Gregg Satterlee. Tim McCreadie came in fifth.

“A lot of people behind the scenes make all this possible,” added Ferguson. “My crew guys have worked their butts off all season, they deserve a lot of credit. My sponsors, we would not be able to afford to do this if it wasn’t for them. I thank them for getting us to the track every week. Thank you to all of the fans who support us as well, it’s been a privilege putting on a show for you guys.”
