Overall, it was a good night for our E-Z-GO hotrod,” McDowell said. “On Saturday night at Clarksville (Speedway) we qualified well again, but we just weren’t able to capitalize on it. Still another Top-5 finish for us, so we’ll take that and get ready for the upcoming weekend.”

In a field of 29 cars, Dale laid down the fastest time in his qualifying group, which positioned him second on the starting grid for the A-Main.

Wrestling away the lead from polesitter Jensen Ford on the opening lap, McDowell led wire-to-wire in the 40-lapper to capture his first win of the season and a $4,053 prize. Donald McIntosh, Jensen Ford, Will Roland, and Brandon Williams completed the Top-5 finishers.

The following night at Clarksville Speedway (Clarksville, Tenn.), McDowell topped the charts in his qualifying group before picking up a heat race win. Starting the $10,053-to-win A-Main in the second position, Dale slipped two spots in the 53-lap affair to finish fourth, trailing Tanner English, Jadon Frame, and Donald McIntosh to the checkers with David Seibers coming in fifth.

Dale continues to lead the latest Schaeffer's Spring Nationals point standings. Complete results from these events as well as the latest series standings are available at www.SpringNationals.com .

Cade Dillard Wins Hawkeye 100 Prelim at Boone
Mississippi Thunder Speedway WoO Weekend on Deck

ROBELINE, La. (05/04/21) – The past month has been one of the most challenging stretches of Cade Dillard’s career. From hard crashes to mechanical failures, the Louisiana native has endured considerable adversity.

However, over the course of last weekend Dillard enjoyed better luck. In fact, he even added his first win of the year in his S&S Fishing & Rental Inc. No. 97 MB Customs/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model with a World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings victory in the opening round of the Hawkeye 100 at Boone Speedway.

“I don’t think it’s a big secret that we’ve battled an unbelievable amount of bad luck for the past month. However, there’s been no quit in this team, and to go to Victory Lane this past weekend was a much-needed boost that our whole team needed,” Dillard said. “We got a win on Friday, and then on Saturday we had a fast car and were running in the Top 5 before the flat tire. Even though we had the flat, it was still a good night and a good weekend for us, and we’ll look to build on that in Wisconsin this weekend.”

Friday night found Cade Dillard in action at Boone Speedway (Boone, Iowa) in the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series-sanctioned Hawkeye 100. With a pair of preliminary features set for Friday, Dillard qualified third-fastest, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the 25-lap A-Main.

Slipping past race-long pacesetter Brandon Sheppard on lap 19, Cade led the remaining six circuits to capture his second win of the season and a $3,000 prize. He topped Shannon Babb, Sheppard, Billy Moyer, and Ricky Weiss at the line.

With the grid for the second preliminary feature set by inverting the top-12 finishers from the first feature, Cade improved four spots in the 25-lapper to register a ninth-place finish.

On Saturday, Dillard picked up a heat race victory, locking him into sixth-starting position for the $30,000-to-win Hawkeye 100. Starting on the second row for the first-ever three-wide start, Cade ran in the Top 5 before suffering a flat tire. He rejoined the tail of the field and went on to salvage a 13th-place finish in the 100-lapper.

Cade has climbed to sixth in the latest World of Outlaws point standings. For full results from the weekend, please visit www.WorldofOutlaws.com.

Cade Dillard Racing will roll into Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) this weekend – May 7-8 – for the inaugural Dairyland Showdown presented by Dynamic Concrete Resurfacing. The weekend includes a $12,500-to-win program on Friday and a $22,500-to-win race on Saturday. Additionally, if a driver can sweep both events, they’ll receive a $5,00 bonus to bring their weekend take to $40,000.

McIntosh and BMS Back in the Hunt

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 4) After a number of discouraging outings Donald McIntosh and the Blount Motorsport Team had a better weekend posting solid second and third place finishes. The two top five finishes moved them into second in the Spring Nationals point chase.

Friday night McIntosh started third and finished second with a strong run at Crossville Speedway.

“It was the new car, and we seem to be getting a better idea of how to make it run better,” said David Bryant. “When the track rubbered up there wasn’t a lot of passing and although I thought we were as good as Dale’s (McDowell) car there was no way we were going to pass him clean.”

On Saturday night at Clarksville they started fifth and finished third.

“We passed our way to third and might have had a second-place finish, but it took about 20-laps to get by Dale and into third. It was a good race between them but it used up the car and the laps a bit,’ concluded Bryant.

“We sure needed a decent weekend. This was the first time I felt a little comfortable in the new car. It still does some weird stuff, but it felt better. It was good to competitive and back in the hunt,” said McIntosh. “Making progress even if it is slow progress will get you going.”

For the third straight weekend it will be a pair of Schaeffer’s Spring National races. Friday night at Wythe Raceway and on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway.
Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Blount Excavating, Massey Electric, Turner Hydraulics, Ole Ben Franklin Motors and The Wine and Spirits Cellar.

BMS races Rocket XR1 Chassis. Power is provided by Vic Hill Racing Engines with Dyer’s Top Rods, Driven Racing Oil, Waterman Fuel Pumps, VP Race Fuels and starting power from Go Lithium batteries. Gauges and wiring harnesses from QuickCar. Carbon Fiber drive shafts from Fastshafts. The shocks are Penske Racing Shocks with chassis and suspension components from TWM, Brakes from Wilwood and springs from Hyperco. Tires are Hoosier Performance Tires from Hoosier Tires South.
