Cory Hedgecock Increases 2019 Win Total to Lucky No. 13
Tops TOS Action at Crossville Speedway

Loudon, Tennessee (08/07/19) – Cory Hedgecock raced his Cushman No. 23 K&P Used Cars/ Hidden View Lake/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Eagle Racing Engine Late Model to the $2,500 triumph on Friday night at Crossville Speedway.

The victory with the Topless Outlaw Series pushed Hedgecock’s 2019-win tally to 13.

“Friday night at Crossville went flawless, and it ended with us in Victory Lane. On Sunday night at Wythe we had the car to win, but I plain-and-simple got run over on a late-race restart. It junked our car and ended our night. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing end to the weekend and now this car has to go to the jig,” Hedgecock said.

On Friday night Cory Hedgecock was one of 18 Topless Outlaws Series entries registered for action at Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee). After topping the charts in time trials, Hedgecock coasted to a Dash victory, which positioned him on the pole for the feature. Leading flag-to-flag in the feature, Cory Hedgecock scored his 13th win of the season. Matt Henderson, David Crabtree, Chase King, and Jesse Lowe completed the Top-5 finishers. He pocketed a $2,500 payday for his performance.

Sunday night brought Cory to Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) for the American Crate All-Star Series-sanctioned Mayhem in the Mountains. In a stout field of 40 cars, Cory secured his spot into the $10,019-to-win A-Main with a heat race victory. Starting in seventh, Hedgecock broke into the Top 5 early and overtook Matt Long for the lead on lap 33. Unfortunately, he was taken out by another competitor one lap later following a restart. The ensuing damage brought his night to an immediate end.

Cory plans to enter a single event this coming weekend as he treks to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Saturday night for a $3,700-to-win Topless Outlaw Series event.

Dustin Strand Claims Ninth Victory of 2019
Wins in NLRA Competition at Devil’s Lake Speedway

Grand Forks, North Dakota (08/07/19) – Dustin Strand raced to his ninth win of 2019 on Saturday night with a Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) triumph at Devil’s Lake Speedway in his Carr’s Grain Service No. 71 Walhalla Building Center/ Millenium Chassis/ Ben Adams Racing Engine Late Model.

“We had a really good weekend going with a podium finish and a win heading into Sunday night at Nodak Speedway. It looked like a good weekend was about to become a great weekend because we were leading, but then bad luck got us in lapped traffic,” Strand said. “I definitely feel like we let one slip away, but sometimes it goes that way.

“It’s not easy to be a contender three nights in a row because the competition is so tough, but my team busted their tails to make it happen. I want to thank them, my family, my sponsors, and all of my fans.”

Dustin Strand visited River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) on Friday evening, where he was competing in a field of 14 WISSOTA Late Models. Gaining three spots in his heat, Strand reeled in a third-place finish, which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the feature. Passing three more cars, Dustin posted a third-place finish behind Brad Seng and Tom Corcoran with Bill Mooney and Shane Edginton rounding out the Top-5.

The following night at Devil’s Lake Speedway (Doyon, North Dakota) in a field of 16 Northern Late Model Racing Association (NLRA) entries, Dustin locked his spot into the A-Main with a runner-up finish. Sliding past Brad Seng following a restart on the seventh lap, Strand soared to his ninth win of the season. Shane Edginton, Cole Schill, Travis Robertson, and Brad Seng rounded out the Top 5. He earned a $1,200 payday for his winning performance.

Following the NLRA on Sunday, Strand was one of 26 cars on hand at Nodak Speedway (Minot, North Dakota) for the Can Am Western miniseries. Starting the night with a heat race victory, Dustin earned the third-starting position for the main event. After building a large lead in the first half of the race, Strand was collected in a tangle, while weaving through lapped traffic that sent him to the tail. He salvaged a 15th-place outing in the 25-lap affair.

For full results from the weekend's events, please visit www.RiverCitiesSpeedway.com and www.NLRA.org .

Next on the schedule for Strand Racing is a trip to River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, North Dakota) this Friday for a Weekly Racing Series Event.
