For Immediate Release Billy Moyer Jr. Scores First Hell Tour Win of 2017 Last week Billy kicked off the 2017 edition of the UMP DIRTcar Summernationals – aka the Hell Tour. Billy started the 29-race slate on Wednesday with a 6th-place finish at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) before notching a 10th-place finish at Kankakee County Speedway (Kankakee, Illinois) on Thursday evening. For the fourth stop of the tour, Moyer Jr. was one of 29 cars registered at Peoria Speedway (Peoria, Illinois) on Saturday night for the $10,000-to-win affair. After timing in second quick in his group, Billy charged to a 10-lap heat race win, locking him into the pole position for the feature. Battling with his dad for the top spot, Moyer Jr. took control of the lead on lap 15. Just five circuits later Mother Nature began to drench the oval. After seeing the field sent to the pits, race officials eventually called off the race when the storm showed no signs of letting up. Even though the feature didn’t reach its halfway point, officials eventually made the decision to declare the race complete, which gave the victory to Billy Moyer Jr. For his win he received $5,000, which was half of the originally-scheduled winning purse. Bobby Pierce, Moyer Sr., Brian Shirley, and Billy Drake completed the Top 5 finishers. His win on Saturday night marked his third triumph of the season. Billy ended his week with at Daugherty Speedway (Boswell, Indiana) with a 13th-place finish. “Even though we would’ve like to have had more Top 5’s it wasn’t a bad first week for our team on the tour,” Moyer Jr. said. “The Peoria deal was a tough situation. I hate that we didn’t get to finish the feature, but it definitely feels good to get our first Summernationals win of 2017.” Billy resumes action on the Hell Tour on Tuesday night at Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, Illinois) with a $5,000-to-win affair. His schedule for the week includes the following dates: Tuesday, June 20: Jacksonville Speedway (Jacksonville, IL) - $5,000-To-Win For Immediate Release Cla Knight Notches First Win of 2017 “Man this win has been coming for a long time,” Knight noted. “This year has been challenging for our team. After setting the bar in hot laps with the fastest lap, Knight posted quick time in qualifying, locking him into the pole position for the feature.
