NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series 2017 Week 1 Round Up

 


Cartersville, GA - Week #1 of the 2017 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series is in the books and the biggest winner for the weekend was Mother Nature. With a wet weather system covering much of the southern half of the United States, there were just a handful of events completed during Week 1 competition. There are still 26 weeks of competition and things will begin to heat up with the temperatures as spring rolls in and many more tracks and competitors get their 2017 seasons started.

Headlines from Week 1:

  • Jim McDuffie put his #760 machine in Victory Lane for the first feature win of the 2017 Weekly Racing Season with a victory during a special Friday night event at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.
  • Chase Washington of Houlka, MS grabbed the first Weekly Racing Series win of the new Friday night era at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.
  • Gray, GA native Jordy Nipper put his Scotty's Muffler sponsored machine in Victory Lane for the first ever sanctioned Weekly Racing Series event at Chris Martin's Cochran Motor Speedway in Cochran, GA.

NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Week 1 of 2017 Round Up

Cartersville, GA -  Week 1 of the 2017 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Season is completed, and Mother Nature Scores the most wins for the week! Heavy rains forced cancellation by most sanctioned tracks on the Week 1 schedule. Many tracks and competitors are now shaking the cold weather blues and getting their seasons started with Spring now officially in full force.

Headlines from Week 1:

  • Texan Rob Slott picked up the first win of NeSmith Street Stock sanctioned competition at the newest sanctioned speedway in Willis, TX - Gator Motorplex.
  • Brian Grantham got his 2017 NeSmith Street Stock season off to a solid start with a feature win at the Norman Park, GA oval Needmore Speedway.
  • Clint Crawford took home the first NeSmith Street Stock Division win of the 2017 season at Whynot Motorsports Park on Friday night March 24th.
  • 2016 Mississippi Street Stock Series Champion Lee Ray got 2017 kicked off in fashion with a Friday night feature win at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.
