Tuscumbia, AL – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Touring Series is set to make a return to “Alabama’s Action Track” – North Alabama Speedway September 28th-30th for the First Annual “King of the Crates 60” Presented by Sparks Inc. The Touring regulars along with a strong local and regional contingent will fill the pits for the $5,000 to win, 60 lap event.

It all kicks off on Thursday night September 28th with Open Practice for all divisions from 6:30 to 10:30 P.M. Then on Friday night, the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series competitors will take to the track for Sunoco Race Fuels Pole Qualifying. Those times will be used to setup the Knowles Race Parts and Bodies Heat Races that will determine the starting positions for the first several rows of Saturday night’s main event. Following the Friday night action there will be a Fan Appreciation Concert and Pit Party with everyone invited to hang out with all their favorite drivers after the evening’s festivities.

Then it will all culminate on Saturday night with Chevrolet Performance B-Mains to determine the remaining cars in the feature line-up, and the finale $5,000 to win, 60 lap main event to crown the “King of Crate” for 2017. NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series National Point leader and Defending National Champion Cory Hedgecock will lead traveling drivers like Cruise with the Champions Rookie of the Year Point Leader Grant Garrison of Kentucky; Katy, TX teen sensation Colton Horner; Marcus Minga of Shannon, MS; Rome, GA drivers TJ Brittain and Jake Knowles; Tennessee drivers Brandon Williams, Andy Picklesimer, Matt Henderson, and Hall of Famer Ronnie Johnson(drivers are tentative and subject to change). But the touring drivers will be faced with local competitors such as: Seth McCormack, Cale Finley, Billy Flannagan Jr., Travis Smith, Todd Robinson, and Steve Russell, looking to keep the $5,000 payday at “Home”.
