Satterlee Back in Port Royal Speedway Winner’s Circle
Wins United Late Model Series Make-Up Event

INDIANA, Pa. (09/09/20) – Gregg Satterlee parked his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing/ Valvoline/ Classic Ink/ Rocket Chassis in Port Royal Speedway Victory Lane for the fifth time this season Saturday.

Winning a Zimmer’s United Late Model Series (ULMS) make-up feature from August 1, Satterlee pocketed $3,000 for his triumph at the half-mile oval better known as “The Speed Palace.”

Kicking off the Labor Day weekend with the ULMS, Gregg Satterlee invaded Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Friday for the Labor Day 55. Drawing 35 cars for the $7,055 top prize, Satterlee came in 10th fastest in his time trial group before placing fourth in his heat race. Earning the 16th-starting position for the A-Main, Gregg marched forward seven spots in the 55-lapper to register a ninth place outing.

The following night at Port Royal (Pa.) Speedway for the Butch Renninger Memorial, Gregg secured his spot into the main event with an 8-lap heat race victory. Taking the lead early in the race, Satterlee ultimately finished third behind Mason Zeigler and Trever Feathers after a battle in lapped traffic. Michael Norris and Kyle Lee completed the Top-5 finishers.

Later that evening in a ULMS make-up feature from August 1st, Satterlee led flag-to-flag from the pole in the 25-lap affair to record his seventh overall win of the season. Finishing 1.102 seconds ahead of Norris, Gregg earned a $3,000 payday. Zeigler, Max Blair, and Andy Haus rounded out the Top-5.

“I knew after that first feature that I’d need to be really aggressive in lap traffic as I felt being patient cost us a bit in the first one,” said Satterlee. “It’s always great to be in victory lane and two podiums on one night is pretty good.”

On Sunday at Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway, Gregg edged his way into the main event with a sixth-place finish in his heat. With $4,000 on the line, Satterlee advanced forward 12 spots in the 30-lapper to register a fourth-place finish behind Jeff Rine, Blair, and Jared Miley with Jim Bernheisel coming in fifth.

Mason Zeigler Enjoys Two-Win, Labor Day Weekend
Eldora’s Intercontinental Classic Next

CHALK HILL, Pa. (09/09/20) – Mason Zeigler registered a pair of wins with the Zimmer’s United Late Model Series (ULMS) over the weekend in his JLE Industries No. 25z Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals/ MS Shock Therapy/ Rocket Chassis/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Doubling down in the Keystone state, Zeigler’s weekend was headlined by a $7,055 victory on Friday night at Bedford Speedway. The Pennsylvania racer followed up with a $5,333 triumph at Port Royal Speedway Saturday.

On Friday Mason Zeigler invaded Bedford Speedway to kick off the Labor Day weekend with the ULMS. With 35 Late Models on hand for the Labor Day 55, Mason followed up the second fastest time in his qualifying group behind Bryan Bernheisel with an 8-lap heat race victory.

With the polesitter, Bernheisel, setting the pace for the first half of the 55-lap feature, Zeigler began closing in on the leader as he encountered lap traffic.  After a caution on lap-44 realigned the field, Mason zipped past Bernheisel on the restart as he went down with mechanical issues.

Holding off Rick Eckert over the final 11 circuits, Zeigler soared to his second win of the season over Eckert, Matt Sponaugle, Michael Norris, and Jared Miley. He earned a $7,055 payday for his efforts.

“We were good. I really had to keep holding myself back ‘cause I didn’t want to blow a tire out obviously,” said Zeigler. “Everyone was having some tire issues. I just tried to really pace myself there and just hangout until the last 20 laps.”

The following night at Port Royal Speedway for the Butch Renninger Memorial, Zeigler locked into the pole position for the feature with a heat race win. After letting Gregg Satterlee sneak by early in the race, Mason won in late-race battle amid lapped-traffic over Satterlee and Trever Feathers to register his second win in as many nights. Finishing ahead of Feathers, Satterlee, Michael Norris, and Kyle Lee, Zeigler pocketed $5,333.

“I would’ve have liked to have been a little better earlier, but ultimately we were good when we needed to be and capitalized on clean air,” said Zeigler. “It’s been a pretty good weekend for us and hopefully this leads to even more wins.”

Later that evening in a make-up ULMS feature from August 1st, Mason posted a third-place finish behind Satterlee and Norris with Max Blair and Andy Haus completing the Top-5 finishers.

Full results from these events can be found at www.ULMSRacing.com .

Brandon Overton Sweeps World of Outlaws Weekend
Eldora’s Intercontinental Classic on Deck

EVANS, Ga. (09/09/20) – Brandon Overton continues to show why he’s among the top-ranked Dirt Late Model drivers in the country, rolling to a weekend sweep of World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series events in Georgia and South Carolina.

The driver of the Wells Motorsports No. 76 Crossfit Overton/ Allstar Concrete/ Longhorn Chassis by Wells/ Clements Racing Engine-powered Super Late Model has now won four consecutive World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series starts.

“I’m enjoying this more than ever right now,” exclaimed Overton. “This whole team gets along so well, and I’ve got the coolest car owner in the business. I know that I’ve got a lot of pressure to perform, but they don’t ever make me feel that; and I think that’s huge. My hat goes off to Longhorn by Wells; new motor package was great; and our relationship with Penske Shocks is paying dividends of late.”

Friday night saw Brandon Overton in action at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway for the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series-sanctioned Charlie Mize Memorial. In a field of 27 cars, Overton laid down the second fastest lap overall in time trials behind Brandon Sheppard before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory.

Earning the sixth-starting position for the feature via the redraw, Brandon snuck ahead of race-leader Zack Mitchell on lap 18 to assume command of the top spot. After a red flag on lap 25 slowed his momentum, Overton began spacing out his lead over the field until lapped traffic became a factor.

Outdueling Dennis Erb Jr. in the final 10 circuits, Brandon Overton streaked to his 18th win of the season over Erb, Chase Junghans, Ricky Weiss, and Zack Mitchell. He bagged a $10,000 payday for his 10th career World of Outlaws triumph.

On Saturday at Lancaster (S.C.) Speedway, Overton followed up the second fastest time in qualifying with a heat race win to earn a spot in the redraw.

Rolling off third for the main event, Overton blasted past race-leader Johnny Pursley on the 12th lap and built more than three second margin over Ricky Weiss in the remaining distance to secure his second win in as many nights and 19th overall of the season. Topping Weiss, Ross Bailes, Brandon Sheppard, and Dennis Erb Jr. in the 50-lapper, Overton pocketed $10,000.

“We’ve got one hell of a hot rod right now; this thing is a joy to drive,” Overton said in victory lane. “Everything is just going so perfect for us right now. We’re really spoiled winning like this, because then you run bad and feel so horrible. These last couple of months have been amazing though, and I hope it doesn’t end anytime soon.”

Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, Brandon stopped at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, S.C. for the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series-sanctioned Hall of Fame 50. Laying down the fastest lap overall in a field of 22 cars, Overton locked into the pole position for the $7,500-to-win A-Main.

Loosing one spot in the 50-lap affair, Brandon Overton notched a runner-up finish behind Austin Kirkpatrick. Ross Bailes, John Henderson, and Chris Madden completed the Top-5 finishers.

Moyer Jr. posted the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group at Ponderosa Speedway before picking up a heat race victory to earn the third starting spot for the $12,000-to-win A-Main.

Billy stayed in contention the entire 50-lap distance, taking second from Jimmy Owens on lap-39 and going on to finish behind Jonathan Davenport at the checkers. Mike Marlar, Zack Dohm, and Tim McCreadie completed the Top-5 finishers.

“Congrats to Jonathan on the win. We have a new Capital piece that Marshall Green put together. I know I say it all the time, but those guys are great to work with. We made some changes after hot laps and it turned our night around. So all-in-all in turned out to be a good night.”

The following night at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park for the Bob Miller Memorial, Billy edged his way into the $12,000-to-win main event with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat race.

Starting the 50-lapper in 16th, Moyer Jr. was just outside the Top-10 when his right rear wheel became packed with mud. Drawing the caution, Billy went to the attention of his crew in the work area who cleared the mud and got him back on the track.

Restarting from the tail of the field, Moyer Jr. charged his way forward and was battling for seventh on the final lap when he suffered a flat right rear tire, ending his night. He was credited with a 17th place finish in the final rundown.

Billy is currently ninth in the latest Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.LucasDirt.com.

The Moyer family is currently mourning the loss of Billy’s uncle, who was a pilar throughout their racing careers. With funeral services set for Wednesday-Thursday, neither will be able to attend this weekend’s Intercontinental Classic at Eldora Speedway.

Billy Moyer Jr. will return to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, September 17-19 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. West Jr. Soaks Up First Laps on Biggest Track He's Competed at in Sprint Car

Inside Line Promotions - MONROE, La. (Sept.9, 2020) - Jeffrey West Jr. enjoyed his first experience on a big, high-banked track last Saturday at Dirt on the Rev.

The ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region event began with a runner-up result in a heat race.

"First off, the track and facility are top notch," he said. "It was high banked and was the fastest I've been in a sprint car. I started on the pole in the heat race and battled for the lead for two or three laps. We ended up second, but we were pretty good.

"For the feature redraw they had us park by the frontstretch and had the little kids pull for us so that was cool. We made some changes with the setup for the feature and went in the wrong direction. We were just way too tight. I was pushing."

West Jr. started eighth, but lost a couple of positions early before hanging on for a 14th-place result.

"That was the first time I've been on a banked, 3/8-mile track," he said. "We know what we should do differently next time. We're still trying to figure everything out. That's where we're going to struggle is when we go to the bigger tracks. That's what this year is all about is learning."

West Jr., who ranks third in the ASCS Mid-South Region championship standings, returns to action with the series this Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark. The event is co-sanctioned with the ASCS Lone Star Region.

Hagar Captures LOS 360 Nationals Finale at Lake Ozark Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 9, 2020) - Derek Hagar is the 11 th annual LOS 360 Nationals champion after producing a dominating performance last Sunday.

Hagar swept the ASCS Warrior Region finale at Lake Ozark Speedway, winning a heat race and a qualifier before leading all 40 laps of the $5,000-to-win main event.

"It was a late night both nights," he said. "I was kind of worried because I was getting worn out. Once I strapped the helmet on and cranked the motor I was ready to go.

"We got a good start and ran the bottom a couple of laps in turns one and two. It went away really quick. I started moving around and found a good lane that worked for me. In turns three and four I ran the top pretty much the whole race. Once the bottom went away in turns one and two I started diamonding the corner."

The victory was Hagar's sixth of the season and his fourth in sprint car competition during only 11 starts this year.

"It's definitely the biggest one of my year and in my career it's probably the second best paying one," he said. "We won a $10,000 show a few years ago, but this $5,000 on Sunday was our second best."

The event was a work in progress that began on Saturday. Hagar advanced from seventh to fifth place in a heat race and from ninth to fifth place in a qualifier before rallying from 14th to seventh in the A Main.

"Saturday night started out as a struggle," Hagar said. "The track was a little different than times in the past and we had a bad pill draw. We didn't pass many cars in the heat race so that set us up in the back row of a qualifier. We earned enough points to make it into the feature. The track started coming around and we were able to go from 14th to seventh. We didn't have as many cautions as we needed. We needed to bunch the field back up a couple more times to try to get more cars."

Hagar will ride the momentum from his strong weekend into a show at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., this Saturday with the ASCS Mid-South Region and ASCS Lone Star Region.

QUICK RESULTS -
