Brandon Overton Completes $20,000 Weekend Sweep
Fall Nationals at Wythe Raceway Up Next

EVANS, Ga. (10/27/20) – Three tracks, three tours, one winner. Brandon Overton’s banner season continues after a dominating three-race win streak over the weekend that garnered him over $20,000.

The driver of the Wells Motorsports No. 76 Crossfit Overton/ Allstar Concrete/ Longhorn Chassis by Wells/ Clements Racing Engine-powered Super Late Model has now won five of the last seven events he’s entered.

Brandon Overton invaded Tri-County Racetrack in Brasstown, N.C. on Thursday evening for the FK Rod Ends Tar Heel 50. With 26 Late Models on hand for the event, Overton topped the speed charts in time trials before picking up a Dash victory.

With fellow front-row starter Shane Clanton setting the pace early in the feature, Brandon began closing the distance on the leader near the middle stages as he battled through lapped-traffic.

After Clanton bobbled and slipped over the cushion while trying to navigate around a slower car, Overton snuck ahead of the leader in turn one to assume command of the top spot on lap 45.

Overton went on to dominate the final nine circuits to record his 22nd win of the season. Finishing ahead of Clanton, Dale McDowell, Ricky Weiss, and Donald McIntosh, Overton pocketed $10,053.

Overton credited patience with helping him win biggest race at the Ray Cook-promoted track for the second straight season. “I just calmed myself back down because, you think it’s fast around here, but the race is pretty slow as far as, you can’t run 53 laps wide open around here,” said Overton. “You’ll fade really fast. So you just gotta kind of pace yourself and pace yourself and wait for the opportunity to come.”

The following night at Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway in a field of 23 Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series entries, Brandon laid down the second fastest lap overall in qualifying. This locked him into the second-starting position for the Buck Simmons Memorial.

Blasting past polesitter Ricky Weiss on the opening night, Overton led all 40 laps to secure his 23rd win of the year over Brent Dixon, Trent Ivey, Brett Hamm, and Cla Knight. He earned a $6,000 payday for his fourth career Carolina Clash triumph.

On Sunday afternoon at Laurens County (S.C.) Raceway for the Ultimate Southeast Series-sanctioned Ronnie Brookshire Memorial, Overton secured his spot into the finale with the fastest qualifying lap in a field of 21 cars.

Leading wire-to-wire, Brandon cruised to his third win in as many nights and 24th overall to capture a $4,014 payday. Taking the checkers ahead of Zack Mitchell, Cla Knight, Anthony Sanders, and Adam Yarbrough, Overton tallied his fifth career win with the Ultimate Southeast Series.

Brandon plans to enter a single event this coming weekend as he treks to Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va. on Saturday night for a $10,000-to-win Schaeffer’s Fall Nationals event.

Satterlee Claims Bedford’s Keystone Cup
Earns Career-High $20,000 Winner’s Check

INDIANA, Pa. (10/27/20) – On Saturday night Gregg Satterlee raced to the biggest win of his career in his Satterlee Motorsports No. 22 Keyser Manufacturing/ Valvoline/ Classic Ink/ Rocket Chassis.

Satterlee took the lead just past the halfway mark of Bedford Speedway’s 3rd Annual Keystone Cup and sailed away to a convincing victory worth $20,000.

“We used to run here quite a bit and run really well,” said Satterlee, whose two previous wins at Bedford came in 2015 and ’19. “I won a race here last year, but really, ever since we got these new (XR1 Rocket) cars, we’ve haven’t been really good here. We kind of dug back in the notebook a little bit further from our old (Rocket) cars and kind of made some different adjustments from what we normally do here and it was pretty damn good.”

Satterlee visited Bedford (Pa.) Speedway on Friday afternoon to kick off the 3rd Annual Keystone Cup. With 35 cars registered for the two-day event, Satterlee timed in fastest in his time trial group before picking up a 16-lap preliminary feature win. Later placing fourth in the Dash, Gregg locked into the fourth-starting position for Saturday night’s main event.

With outside front-row starter Mason Zeigler jumping out to an early race lead, Satterlee took second from Darrell Lanigan on lap 32 after bobbling on an early restart to allow Lanigan to sneak by.

Closing in on Zeigler a few laps later, Gregg whizzed past the leader on the 39th lap to assume command of the top spot. Dominating the final 21 circuits, Satterlee cruised to his eighth win of the season by more than a four-second margin over Zeigler, Lanigan, Tim McCreadie, and Michael Norris.

“I really screwed myself up on that (lap-six) restart,” Satterlee said. “I passed Darrell and got into second and I thought I wanted to pick the top (for the Delaware double-file restart), but I just got into second and I started on the bottom and that cost me a lot of time (after Lanigan made a pass). But I knew my car was good so I just had to be patient and let it all play out.

“There was plenty of time and plenty of laps to get up and pass the cars if your car was good,” he added, “and mine was.”

Gregg’s plans for the remainder of the 2020 season are uncertain at this time. Keep your browsers pointed to www.GreggSatterlee.com for the latest team news and updates.

Inside Line Promotions - ATOKA, Tenn. (Oct. 27, 2020) - Jeffrey West Jr. will wrap up his rookie season behind the wheel of a 360ci winged sprint car this weekend at Riverside International Speedway.

The oval in West Memphis, Ark., hosts the USCS Series on Friday and Saturday for the 12th annual USCS Flip Flop 50 and USCS Fall Nationals. It will mark the first time West Jr. has raced in back-to-back features on the same night in the 360 sprint car division.

"I'm really looking forward to that," he said. "It's something I haven't done before. I'm interested to see how it will play out. To reflect right away and apply that for the second feature and then to get more laps is a great opportunity for us."

West Jr. has raced at Riverside International Speedway five times this season. He's registered his career-best 360 sprint car result of seventh twice at the track.

"I started racing there so I'm a lot more comfortable with that track," he said. "I have a lot more laps there than anywhere else.

"A goal is to try to get a top five. We haven't gotten one all year. We've been good at Riverside and we've been close. We want to keep the car together and have a good run. A top five would be a great ending to the season."

Big Game Motorsports Runs Into Misfortune at Kokomo Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - KOKOMO, Ind. (Oct. 27, 2020) - Luck wasn't on the side of Big Game Motorsports and driver Kerry Madsen last Saturday at Kokomo Speedway, which hosted the penultimate World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series event of the season.

The night began with Madsen qualifying 13th quickest in his group.

"Both laps when we touched the cushion off turn two we had a fuel surge issue," he said. "That messed our qualifying up, which put us in the hole there. I wasn't so worried. I figured we'd go forward in the heat race."

Madsen started seventh, but was caught up in a night-ending crash early in the heat race.

"It was a racing deal," he said. "A car spun out in front of us and we had nowhere to go. It did some extensive damage to the frame so we couldn't continue."

Big Game Motorsports will take this weekend off before wrapping up the season on Nov. 5-6 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the World of Outlaws Last Call with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

Sides Hustles to Career-Best Run at Kokomo Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - KOKOMO, Ind. (Oct. 27, 2020) - Jason Sides tied for the second-most positions gained en route to a career-best finish at Kokomo Speedway last Saturday during a World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series race.

Sides opened the event by qualifying 17th quickest in his group. A charge from ninth to sixth place in a heat race put Sides in a good position for the second half of the night.

"Even though a couple crashed out, we still moved forward in the heat race and that put us in the position to be at least near the front of the Last Chance Showdown," he said. "The car wasn't bad at all. Running up front with the faster guys it does what it's supposed to do, but you get back in traffic and it handles a lot different."

Sides maintained third throughout the consolation race to earn a transfer into the rear of the main event. He continued to march forward in the feature, rallying from 23rd to 12th.

"It was a lot better because we didn't get lapped early even though we started in the back," he said. "It made for a decent finish. Starting that far back on a small track you can get lapped pretty quick. We didn't, made a few passes and they got to them before us. I wish we could have got a couple more spots, but we didn't quite get there to finish in the top 10."

The 12th-place result was Sides' best outing at the track, topping his previous best run of 13th in 2013.

Sides will be off this weekend before the season concludes Nov. 5-6 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte in Concord, N.C., during the World of Outlaws Last Call with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series.

QUICK RESULTS -
