Dunn Benson Motorsports and EPJ Gets a Win and a 2nd Place During Show-Me 100 Weekend, Heads to Virginia

DUNN, NC (May 31, 2017) - The Dunn Benson Motorsports Team owned by Carlton and Kemp Lamm with driver Earl Pearson Jr. picked up a big Win at Lucas Oil Speedway during the Show-Me 100 weekend over the Memorial Day weekend. With 67 cars entered on the first of three nights of the Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 presented by Hot Rod Processing, EPJ would start 3rd in the 45-lap feature event.

EPJ would bolt into 2nd place on the opening lap and take the lead on lap 15 of the feature event. Earl would lead the remaining 30 laps holding off Scott Bloomquist to win at the Lucas Oil Speedway for the first time in eight years. The win was even more satisfying for the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team with the event broadcasted LIVE on the Teams primary sponsor Lucas Oil Racing TV. The win would be Earl's 2nd Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win of the season and 3rd win overall for the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team in 2017.

Night number two of the Show-Me 100 weekend saw EPJ start 7th in the 40-lap feature event. Earl would maintain in the top 10 the entire distance and crossed the finish line with a solid 7th place finish in the feature event. The two preliminary feature events awarded points that were combined to set the lineup for the $30,000 to win Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by Protect The Harvest.com. With a 1st place and a 7th place Earl earned enough points combined to start 3rd in the Show-Me 100.

With the Show-Me 100 feature lineup set, the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team and driver EPJ were excited to get the feature event started in front of a massive spectator crowd and a LIVE audience on www.LucasOilRacing.TV. Earl would immediately take over 2nd place at the start and take the lead on lap 2 of the 100-lap feature event. Earl would maintain a comfortable lead and held of several challengers through most of the feature event. On lap 87 of 100 EPJ would relinquish the lead to Booby Pierce as Earl bobbled in turn 4 after hitting some ruts in the racing surface. Earl would maintain 2nd place to the finish and garner a solid runner-up finish at the checkers.

"We had a great car all weekend and very happy in our performance here at Lucas Oil Speedway in front of all the great fans and the LIVE audience on Lucas Oil Racing TV. Our car was great early in the feature but our shock package wasn't quite right for the ripples and rough cushion towards the end. We will learn from it and get better in the future. But overall it was great to get a win and finish second here at Lucas Oil Speedway. I have to thank all my sponsors, my car owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm, Dunn Benson Ford, Lucas Oil Racing TV, Lucas Oil Products, MAVTV, Forrest Lucas and all the sponsors that help make it possible to follow a national tour. Special thanks to my crew, TC, Chad, Trey and Chris for all their hard work and dedication to Dunn Benson Motorsports", stated Earl Pearson Jr.

EPJ and the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team will have a couple weeks off from the National Tour, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, but will travel to Virginia Motor Speedway in Jamaica, VA Saturday June 3rd for a $20,000 to Win Ultimate Super Late Model Series sanctioned event. EPJ and the Team will then travel the following week to Eldora Speedway in Rossburg OH for three days of racing capped off with the $100,000 to win Late Model Dream on Saturday June 10th.
