Earl Pearson Jr. Surges to Top-10 Finish in Dirt Track World Championship
Southern Invasion this Weekend for 24th Annual Coors Light Fall Classic

Shreveport, Louisiana (10/24/18) – Earl Pearson Jr. put a wrap on the 2018 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season over the weekend in his Black Diamond Racecars House Car/ Lucas Oil #1 P&W Sales/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. He claimed a Top-10 finish in the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship, and with the performance secured the fourth position in the final LOLMDS standings.

“It would’ve been nice to end the Lucas Oil season with a win, but we’ll take a Top 10 – especially after the way that the weekend started,” Pearson Jr. said. “What a first season for this Black Diamond Racecars Team. There were some doubters out there, when we announced the new team, but I think we proved them all wrong. We’ve had a great season, and I’m really proud to have finished fourth. With what we learned this year and the pieces we have in place, I’m confident that we can make a run at the championship next year.

“Thanks so much to all of the sponsors and fans who support our program. It means a lot to our whole team.”

On Friday night Earl Pearson Jr. was one of 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) competitors on hand at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship.

Finishing fifth in both rounds of his heat races, Pearson Jr. retired early from his B-Main and relied on a series’ provisional starting spot for the $100,000-to-win finale. With Mother Nature moving Saturday’s finale to Sunday afternoon, Earl Pearson Jr. passed 13 cars in the 100-lap affair to record an eighth-place finish.

Earl finished fourth in the final Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) point standings. For more results from this event, please visit

Brandon Overton Bags Podium Finish in DTWC Finale
All Three Team Drivers Head to Whynot this Weekend

Calera, AL (10/24/18) – Sunday afternoon found Brandon Overton enjoying another great run in a late-season, crown jewel event in his Franklin Fence & Erosion Control #76 BCI Asphalt/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. He ran in the Top 5 for the second half of the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship before ultimately registering a third-place finish.

“If we can finish them (crown jewel events), we kind of find our way to the front,” Overton said following his podium finish on Sunday afternoon at Portsmouth Raceway Park. “All in all, it was a good weekend. I’m sure most of us would have liked to have got it in (Saturday) night. I think we had a really good car for last night’s conditions. It wasn’t too bad today, just kind of took me a little too long to get toward the front. Then I kind of calmed down right there through the middle stages and a couple of them got back by me. So, then I had to kind of hustle it back again. But the car was really good. I guess it’s the best you can ask for daytime racing.”

On Friday afternoon Brandon Overton and Franklin Enterprises made the trip to Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship.

With 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries registered for the two-day event, Overton followed up a sixth-place finish in his first heat with a heat race victory in the second round. With Mother Nature shifting Saturday’s feature to Sunday, Brandon earned the 11th-starting position for the $100,000-to-win main event.

Wheeling his way into the Top-5, Brandon Overton gained eight spots in the 100-lapper, notching a third-place finish behind Josh Richards and Jonathan Davenport with Brandon Sheppard and Zack Dohm completing the Top-5 finishers.

This Friday and Saturday will find both all three Franklin Enterprises drivers, Billy Franklin, David Breazeale and Brandon Overton in action as they thunder into Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) to compete in the 24th annual Coors Light Fall Classic. The unsanctioned event pays $15,000-to-win. Breazeale topped the event in 2016.

Chase Junghans Advances 18 Positions in 38th annual DTWC
Coors Light Fall Classic at Whynot Up Next

Manhattan, Kansas (10/24/18) – Chase Junghans’ Dirt Track World Championship weekend might’ve gotten off to a slow start, but the Kansas racer gained speed and ground by the time that it was over. In fact, he advanced 18 positions in the $100,000 finale to record a 10th-place finish in his Shop Quik Convenience Stores #18 Bozard Ford Lincoln/XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

“We were just a tick off all weekend until the non-qualifier’s race, and then we found some speed,” Junghans said. “I know some people thought we were crazy for giving up the $3,000 win, but we came to race and get track experience. On Sunday, the track was pretty good for daytime conditions, and we were able to come away with a Top-10 finish. I was pretty happy overall with how we rebounded to have a strong finish.”

Friday night found Chase Junghans in action at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the preliminary night for the 38th annual Rhino Ag Dirt Track World Championship.

Drawing 49 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries for the two-day event, Junghans followed up a fourth-place finish in his first heat race with a seventh-place finish in his second heat.

After failing to accumulate enough points to lock into the feature, Chase was relegated to a Saturday night B-Main. Unfortunately, he came up one spot short of a transferring to the feature with a fourth-place finish. While he didn’t earn a starting position in the finale, he did earn a spot in the Jim Dunn Memorial non-qualifiers feature, where he streaked to 30-lap victory, giving him the choice to tag the tail of the feature or claim the $3,000 payday.

Junghans elected to forfeit the $3,000 winner’s check to start on the tail of the feature. However, Chase would have to wait a day to compete in the finale as Mother Nature pushed the 100 lapper back to Sunday afternoon. In the finale he enjoyed a great run as he advanced from the 28th-starting position to a 10th-place finish.
