WAYNESBORO, Va. (05/10/21) – For the third time in 2021, Logan Roberson registered a victory at Winchester Speedway. Roberson’s Limited Late Model win on Saturday night came aboard his Gunter’s Honey No. 17 Wynbridge Inc. / Russ King Racing XR1 Rocket Chassis entry and was worth $1,500

The Virginia racer is a perfect three-for-three against Winchester Speedway’s Limited Late Model competition in 2021. Additionally, the triumph marked the 83rd of his career.

“After the All-Star weekend got postponed by weather, we decided to race close to home this weekend, and the best choice was Winchester Speedway. We’ve been really good at that place so far this year and Saturday was no exception,” Roberson commented. “We can’t thank all of our fans and sponsors enough, who allow us to do what we love.”

After seeing the weekend’s slate altered by weather, the team trekked to Winchester Speedway (Winchester, Va.) on Saturday evening. Competing in the Limited Late Model division, Roberson led flag-to-flag to claim the $1,500 triumph.

He was followed across the finish line by Austin Stover, Keith Koontz, Wesley Bone brake, and Bubby Tharp Jr.

Rocket1 Racing and Brandon Sheppard Visit Victory Lane in Wisconsin

Sheppard Notches 70th-Career World of Outlaws Feature Win

SHINNSTON, W.Va. (05/10/21) – Brandon Sheppard piloted the Rocket1 Racing/ Valvoline No. 1 Seubert Calf Ranches/ Durham Racing Engines-powered XR1 Rocket Chassis Super Late Model to Victory Lane on Friday night at Wisconsin’s Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

Sheppard’s victory in the opening round of the World of Outlaws (WoO) Morton Buildings Late Model sanctioned Dairyland Showdown presented by Dynamic Concrete Resurfacing was worth $12,500. The victory marked the team’s second of the 2021 campaign, and Sheppard’s 70th-career WoO triumph.

“Like I’ve been saying for the past few weeks, we’ve just got to get our consistency back. I knew if we could rattle off a few top-three, top-five runs that a win would come eventually. We’re just really fortunate that it worked out for us tonight,” Sheppard noted in Victory Lane.

“Just thank God for this one. We’ve been not necessarily struggling, but we got messed up and turned around in Volusia (Speedway Park in Barberville, Fla., during February’s Speedweeks) and it just set us behind for the start of our year.  Even though it’s not been a terrible beginning of the year — we’re still leading the points — it hasn’t been up to what we would like it to be. But we’re definitely back on track now. The guys have been working their tails off on this thing … they’ve not given up on me, and I’ve not given up on them for sure. I’m glad to finally get the monkey off my back.”
Brandon Sheppard and Rocket1 Racing followed the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series to Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City, Wis.) on Friday afternoon to kick off the two-day Dairyland Showdown.

Drawing 38 entries, Sheppard broke the track record in time trials to claim the fast time honors before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Tracking down race-leader Brent Larson on the high-side on lap 23 of the feature, Brandon turned back Larson’s challenge on the final restart to register his second win of the season and 70th career World of Outlaws triumph. Finishing ahead of Larson, Jimmy Mars, Cade Dillard, and Chris Madden, Sheppard earned $12,500.

On Saturday night, Brandon locked his spot into the $22,500-to-win finale with a heat race win. Starting the feature in second, Sheppard grabbed the lead on the opening lap and paced the field for the first seven circuits. Unable to keep a charging Chris Madden at bay, Brandon went on to place third, trailing Sheppard and Ryan Gustin to the checkers. Kyle Strickler and Tim McCreadie completed the Top-5 finishers in the 60-lap affair.

Brandon holds a 60-point advantage over Chris Madden atop the World of Outlaw point standings. For complete results from these events, please visit www.WorldofOutlaws.com .

The Rocket1 Racing team will be idle this week before returning to action on May 21-22 with a pair of WoO events at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway.

Garrett Alberson Outruns Foes and Rain for Career Payday at La Salle
Returns to Lucas Oil MLRA Action this Weekend

Las Cruces, N.M. (05/10/21) – Garrett Alberson outran a talented cast of competitors and rapidly approaching rain to claim the $12,000 Thaw Brawl win on Saturday night at La Salle Speedway. The Mid America Racing Series (MARS) triumph came aboard the Ken & Beth Roberts-owned No. 59 Nutrien Ag Solutions/ Roemer Machine & Welding/ Black Diamond Chassis Super Late Model.

The victory marked the richest of his career and his first-ever MARS triumph.

“I saw it started to rain there, and I wasn’t sure if the track was gonna be better or worse. I had a little bit softer tire on than the leaders, and I really think that rain just played into our favor right there,” Alberson said. “They were good on that first run and I was just OK, and it just seemed like that rain brought a little moisture back out of the track and my (Hoosier LM) 30 (compound tire) took right off.

“Just thank God, the whole crew. I’ve just got some awesome people behind me and it feels really awesome to get a good win for ‘em. This win truly means a lot.”

Garrett Alberson invaded La Salle Speedway (LaSalle, Ill.) on Friday afternoon for the 10th annual Thaw Brawl. With 23 MARS Racing Series entries entered, Garrett was collected in a wreck in his heat race that relegated him to fifth. With $3,000 on the line in the feature, Alberson worked his way through the field to a seventh-place finish.

After topping the 17-car field in qualifying on Saturday afternoon, Alberson finished third in his heat race, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the main event. Sneaking past race-long pacesetter Brian Shirley on lap 32 as the raindrops began to fall, Garrett stormed to his first win of the season, which came over Shirley, Tanner English, Ryan Unzicker, and Jason Feger. He pocketed a career-best $12,000 prize for his first-ever MARS Racing Series triumph.

Full results from these events are available at www.MARSRacingSeries.com.

This weekend, Garrett Alberson and Roberts Motorsports will get back to the grind with the Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA) with a pair of events in Iowa. A $3,000-to-win program kicks things off on Friday night at Davenport Speedway, while a $5,000 winner’s check will be up for grabs on Saturday night at West Liberty Raceway.

Hedgecock Emerges Victorious in Topless Outlaw Series Action at Crossville
LOLMDS at 411 Motor Speedway Up Next

LOUDON, Tenn. (05/10/21) – Cory Hedgecock stormed to his first victory of the 2021 season on Friday night in his brand-new E-Z-GO No. 3 Green’s Recycling / I-75 Raceway / Black Diamond Race Car / Eagle Racing Engine Late Model.

Hedgecock’s maiden voyage to Victory Lane in 2021 came at Tennessee’s Crossville Speedway with the Topless Outlaw Dirt Late Model Series and was worth $2,500.

“If you had told me at the beginning of the year that my first win would come in early May, I probably wouldn’t have been real thrilled. However, I’m very pleased with the direction we are heading, and it seems we’ve finally shook the monkey off our back. This new Black Diamond Race Car is awesome and to win in just our second night out in it gives our team a lot of confidence moving forward,” Hedgecock said. “We’re definitely geared up for this Friday’s Lucas Oil event at 411 Motor Speedway. We’ve enjoyed a lot of success at that place, and hopefully we can go to Victory Lane there again this week.”

With the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals event at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Va.) wiped out by Mother Nature, Cory Hedgecock headed to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, TN) on Friday evening to pilot his Black Diamond Race Cars No. 23 Late Model in the Topless Outlaw Series (TOS) event. In a field of 26 cars, Hedgecock locked into the second-starting position for the A-Main via his qualifying effort. Outdueling polesitter Ronnie Johnson, Cory rolled to his first win of the season over Cameron Weaver, Jason Manley, Austin Neely, and Johnson. He earned $2,500 for his 12th career TOS triumph.

On Saturday afternoon at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) for the Schaeffer’s Spring Nationals-sanctioned Spring Shootout, Cory posted a third-place finish in his heat, which positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the $10,053-to-win A-Main. Bringing out the second caution of the race on lap 11, Hedgecock suffered a flat right-rear tire that sidelined him for the remainder of the evening.

Cory sits third in the latest Spring Nationals points standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.ToplessOutlaws.com and www.SpringNationals.com .

CHR will enter a single event this weekend as they plan to enter Friday’s $12,000-to-win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) event at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.)

Schatz scores pair of podiums in #LetsRaceTwo doubleheader; Pennsylvania triple next on agenda

Dates: Friday and Saturday, May 7th-8th
Event: #LetsRaceTwo
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 3rd (17th)
Saturday: 3rd (7th)

2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Championship Standings: Sixth | 2682 points [160 points behind championship leader, Brad Sweet]

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (May 10, 2021) - Donny Schatz’ Eldora Speedway stat sheet runs long and deep, and although the Fargo, North Dakota-native was unable to further his Eldora win list and score a victory during the recent #LetsRaceTwo doubleheader, the ten-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion did manage to cash in for a pair of podium performances, highlighting the weekend with an impressive rally from 17th to finish third during the Friday segment of the weekend blockbuster. Friday’s segment was actually conducted on Saturday afternoon, as poor weather ultimately forced Friday’s portion to be postponed after qualifying.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car, did most of his rally during the first 18 circuits, eventually utilizing a three-car pass to earn his way into the top-five. A slick move to get by David Gravel with nine to go propelled Schatz to fourth in the running order, eventually gifted one more position after Sheldon Haudenschild failed to meet the minimum weight requirement at the conclusion of the 30-lap program.

Just a few hours later, Schatz was able to match his “Friday” feature performance with another third-place finish, this time climbing ahead from row four and leading the majority of Saturday’s $10,000-to-win, 30-lap contest.

Schatz wasted little time, working his way from seventh to second in just two laps before driving by Sheldon Haudenschild for the race lead on lap eight. The #LetsRaceTwo finale remained in Schatz’ control until lap 27, quickly becoming reacquainted with Haudenschild as the WoO contender chopped Schatz’ command to a car length. Working hard to keep the Buckeye at bay, Haudenschild proved to be too much for Schatz to fight back, eventually losing the point just as the white flag was shown. Logan Schuchart also slipped by Schatz forcing the ten-time champ to settle with third.

“He just had everything to gain by moving around the race track,” Schatz said of Haudenschild at Eldora. “We were solid out front, but kept fading there at the end. We were better in the middle and lower early on, but sometimes you get to see what’s going on if you’re bak there. I couldn’t move around, it’s just the way it goes. Would’ve been nice to win, but we didn’t. We’ll get another chance on Wednesday.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will continue their 2021 campaign with a three-race week in the Keystone State, set to invade Pennsylvania Posse Country for the first time this year beginning Wednesday with the Gettysburg Clash at Lincoln Speedway. The four-day, three-race campaign will hit high gear on Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, with the Morgan Cup at Williams Grove Speedway. Schatz will enter Pennsylvania sixth in the current World of Outlaws championship standings on the strength of 12 top-five finishes in 20 feature starts.

The “Madman” Kerry Madsen joined Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing stable at Eldora Speedway, eventually powering the Rush Truck Centers/Advance Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Digital Ally/Sage Fruit/FloRacing/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/Mobil 1/Carquest Auto Parts/J&J Auto Racing/No. 14 sprint car to one top-ten finish.

Filling in for three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and NASCAR Hall of Famer, Tony Stewart, Madsen’s top-ten resulted in a seventh-place finish during Friday’s portion of #LetsRaceTwo. Madsen started 13th on the A-Main grid, earning his way into the big dance with a fourth-place run during his respective heat race.

Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series

Jac Haudenschild A-Main Finishes (Start):
Friday: 20th (18th)
Saturday: 25th (13th)

ST. HELENA, Calif. (May 10, 2021) - Once again gracing the Greatest Show On Dirt with a two-car stable, St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu, flanked by Wooster, Ohio’s Jac Haudenschild in his historic yellow No. 22, joined the World of Outlaws during the recent weekend, ultimately helping the Series make their return to the World’s Greatest Dirt Track for the first time in over a year. Dubbed #LetsRaceTwo, the Eldora Speedway doubleheader featured two, full World of Outlaws programs, eventually crammed into a single day due to weather forcing an inevitable postponement after qualifying on Friday.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Rowdy Energy/Curb Records/Lucas Oil Products/Abreu Vineyards/Stadelhofer Construction/Wiser Agency/Self Made/Salty’s BBQ/No. 24 sprint car, qualified for each of the World of Outlaws A-Mains conducted at Eldora Speedway with the former Outlaw winner highlighting his weekend with a 15th-place score from row 12 during Saturday’s finale. Forced to earn his way into the big dance the hard way, Abreu finished fourth during the evening’s Last Chance Showdown, climbing ahead two sports after starting sixth on the grid.

Haudenschild, who also qualified for each of the #LetsRaceTwo features at Eldora Speedway, failed to find any luck on Saturday, as on-track mishaps forced Haudenschild’s retirement during each of the World of Outlaws main events; the “Wild Child” was scored 20th and 25th.

“It was great to get back to Eldora Speedway. We wanted something more from the weekend, but to get both cars in the show on both nights is pretty special, especially for Jac. He’ll have the chance to race at Eldora a few more times this year, but every lap at that place counts,” Rico Abreu said, a former Eldora All Star winner who is still chasing that first win of the season. “I think our team has the potential to do a lot of big things this year, but finding momentum has been the hardest part. We have a lot of racing ahead. We’ll get this Rowdy Energy car up front in no time.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing have not disclosed official plans for the coming weekend. Fans are expected to keep alert online, as well as on social media, for continuing updates pertaining to Rico Abreu’s upcoming schedule. Initial conversation suggests a trip to Michigan and Illinois with the All Star Circuit of Champions. An official announcement will be made when it becomes available.
Tentatively, Jac Haudenschild is scheduled to return to his iconic No. 22 during Ohio Sprint Speedweek featuring the All Star Circuit of Champions.

“This one was special because my good friend Luke (Crass) was there to join me in Victory Lane. After starting the night by registering the second-fastest time in a field of 21 cars, Matt led flag-to-flag in the feature to record his fifth win of the season. He took the checkers ahead of Colton Profitt, Kyle Courtney, Bobby Giffin, and Mitchell Childress.

Joe Godsey Claims Feature Win at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway
Castrol FloRacing Night in America at Brownstown Up Next

BENTONVILLE, Ark. (05/10/21) – Picking up his third win of the season Joe Godsey parked his Homes by Roth No. 14G Waco Title/ Ridout Lumber Company/ Kimbel Services/ MB Customs / Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model in Victory Lane on Friday night at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway.

Godsey was followed across the finish line by teammate, Jeff Roth.

“The weekend didn’t start off as well as we would’ve liked at Batesville on Friday, so we made the decision to travel up the road on Saturday to shake some things down on the cars at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway. It proved to be a good decision,” Godsey said. “Trent Francis had the track in great shape, and I got the win with Jeff (Roth) in second. It was an outstanding night for our team.”

On Friday night, Roth Motorsports pilots Jeff Roth and Joe Godsey were in action at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the Joe Garrison Memorial. Drawing 29 Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) entries, both drivers fell one spot short of a transfer position in their heat race with a fifth-place finish. Needing to place third or better in the B-Main to qualify for the opening night feature, Joe streaked to a 10-lap victory while Jeff finished fourth. With $5,000 on the line in the 30-lap feature, Godsey pulled off on lap 14 to save equipment.

The following night, the team made the decision to race in a Weekly Racing Series Event at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Ark.). With Jeff piloting his brand-new TNT Race Cars No. 14R Late Model, he secured his spot into the A-Main with a fourth-place finish in his heat race while Joe came in second.

Godsey dominated the 20-lap feature to record his third win of season, which came over teammate Jeff Roth, Chris Jones, John Hill, and Kyle Downs.
