Ross Robinson Rolls to Camp Barnes Benefit Triumph at Georgetown Speedway
Pockets $5,000 for Second Victory of 2024 at Delaware Oval
GEORGETOWN, Del. (08/05/24) – Ross Robinson got sweet revenge in Thursday’s Camp Barnes Benefit at Georgetown Speedway with a dominating victory aboard his Commonwealth Equipment / Stockley Materials No. 7 DutchStar Motorsports / The Frozen Farmer / Wesley Collins Builders / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Clements Race Engine Super Late Model.
After a mechanical failure while leading the race in 2023 derailed his hopes of winning the event, the hometown driver led flag-to-flag in the 25-lap feature to claim his fourth win of the season and the $5,000 winner’s payday.
"We have a good package. It just seems to work no matter how far — I've said it before — no matter how far I get lost, I can always come home and I just think the package works," Robinson said. "And I owe a lot of that to (Rick Eckert who) was chasing me and making me earn it, too. He's helped me out a lot this year and I'm grateful for it. ... It's cool to get redemption from losing Camp Barnes last year when we were leading and had a part failure. (And) to see this place full like this for what this means for the kids and the state police."
Ross Robinson kicked off his month of August with a quick trip to his hometown track of Georgetown (DE) Speedway for the 52nd annual Camp Barnes Benefit.
Joined by his wife Amanda for the unsanctioned event, both Amanda and Ross raced into the A-Main with a heat race win. Seeking redemption in the feature after a parts failure spoiled his promising run in 2023 in the same event, Ross rolled to a flag-to-flag victory in the 25-lap affair to secure the $5,000 top prize. He was joined by Rick Eckert and Amanda on the podium.
The win marked Robinson's second of the season at the Delaware oval and fourth overall of the 2024 campaign.

Tim McCreadie Finishes Ninth in Rain-Shortened USA Nationals Finale
42nd Annual Sunoco Race Fuels North/South 100 at Florence Up Next
SHINNSTON, W.Va. (08/05/24) – Tim McCreadie and Rocket1 Racing battled inclement weather and a talented field of competitors over the weekend at the 37th annual USA Nationals to finish ninth in Saturday’s rain-shorted finale with their Valvoline / Seubert Calf Ranches No. 1 Rocket1 Racing / Ace Metal Works / XR1 Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
“Between the weather and some adversity it was a weekend of ups-and-downs for us at Cedar Lake (Speedway). Every time we (Rocket1 Racing) hit the track together we continue to learn more as a team, and I think everyone in the pits battled finding a rhythm with the way the weather continued altered the weekend,” McCreadie shared. “We still came away with a Top 10 in the feature even though it ended early due to rain. We’re focused on heading to the North/South 100 this week and look forward to seeing a lot of great fans and sponsors there.”
Rocket1 Racing and Tim McCreadie returned on the road with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series over the weekend as the national series invaded the Badger State for the 37th annual USA Nationals.
With inclement weather on Thursday at Cedar Lake Speedway (New Richmond, Wisc.) forcing officials to run both preliminary events on Friday, McCreadie outdueled Jonathan Davenport in his heat race early Friday to secure the eight-lap victory. Receiving the pole for the opener via the redraw, Tim surrendered one spot in the 25-lap prelim to place second. He joined race-winner Bobby Pierce and Kyle Bronson on the podium.
Later Friday evening, Tim’s runner-up heat race showing positioned him on the fourth row for final preliminary feature. Chasing another $6,000 preliminary payday, McCreadie salvaged a 21st-place finish after a lap-nine tangle sent him to the tail.
Also competing in the F.A.N.S Fund Dash on Friday for a chance at the $2,500 payday raised by fans, McCreadie climbed three positions in the 12-lapper to place sixth.
Locked into a dash on Saturday, Tim’s sixth-place performance set him up for the sixth-starting position for the $50,000-to-win USA Nationals finale. With a lingering rain storms shortening the 100-lap main event to 56 circuits, McCreadie was running in ninth when persistent precipitation brought an early end to the weekend.

Sam Seawright Grabs Hunt the Front Opener at Duck River Raceway Park
Hunt the Front at Senoia Tentatively Up Next
FORT PAYNE, Ala. (08/05/2024) – A persistent Sam Seawright added his third victory of the season over the weekend with an opening night victory in the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series doubleheader at Duck River Raceway Park aboard his Troy Baird Truck and Trailer Sales / Agcor Steel No. 16 Franklin Enterprises / Longhorn Chassis / Durham Racing Engines Super Late Model.
After a lap-22 bobble saw him slip back to second, Seawright regained the lead on the ensuing circuit and drove away to secure the $5,000 payday.
"I've just always been good here ever since I was a little kid racing Crate cars. I don't know what it is," Seawright said. "But I really wanted to win that race bad. You know, me and Livie (Smith) got engaged. She's my fiancee now and my dad didn't get to come for a long time because he was so sick and he's back here with us and that kind of lit a fire under me to do good."
Sam Seawright returned to Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series competition after a lengthy summer hiatus with a visit to Duck River Raceway Park (Shelbyville, Tenn.) for the Deep Fried 75 weekend.
With 34 Super Late Models checked in on Friday evening, Seawright automatically transferred to the A-Main by laying down the quickest lap in his qualifying group. Battling with Wil Herrington at the drop of the green flag, Sam started to pull away until jumping the cushion and briefly giving up the lead. Seawright was able to muscle his way back to the top spot and led the final eight laps to score his second-career victory with the series. He outdueled Ashton Winger and Brandon Overton for the $5,000 payday.
Looking to sweep the weekend on Saturday, Sam finished runner-up in his heat race before finishing just outside the Top-5 in the $20,000-to-win finale.
Seawright is currently runner-up in the HTFSDS point standings.
Full results from the two-day weekend can be found at www.HTFSeries.com.
This weekend’s plans are still undecided but next Saturday, August 20th will see Seawright return with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Senoia (GA) Raceway for the $20,000-to-win main event.
