Southern All Stars Kick Off 37th Season At Cherokee
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will open the 2020 season Sunday afternoon at the Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC., with the Ginger Owens March Madness paying $12,000 to win for the 60 lap main event.
David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS., scored his first Southern All Stars Championship and will be leading the Southern All Star drivers into the opening race of the season. 2019 Cruise with the Champions/Dirtondirt.com rookie of the year Zach Leonhardi, Billy Franklin of Calera, AL., Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS., and Riley Hickman pf Ooltewah, TN., are also expected to be in action at the South Carolina facility.
Other drivers that have expressed interest in the tour this year include Sam Seawright of Ft Payne, AL., Dalton Cook, and Jason Hiett.
Jonathan Davenport scored the win in the 2019 version of March Madness and will be on hand to defend his title as well as many national and regional drivers from all across the southeast.
This will be the 32nd race in Southern All Star history at the South Carolina track with two Southern All Star Champion Chris Madden of Gray Court, Sc., leading the way in wins with eight series win at the track.
