Neil Baggett Adds His Name To Southern All Star Winners List At Southern Raceway

RACE RECAP: MILTON, FL--The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Max Fab started the 2019 season at Tom Lowry’s Southern Raceway in Milton, FL., and Neil Baggett of Columbus, MS., got his career first win with the series, he led 24 laps, David Breazeale led for 6 laps until he retired when he made contact with a lapped car punching a hole in his radiator. The victory was worth $3,000 for the 30 lap event.

Baggett set the tone of the night in SUNOCO Race Fuels/Knowles Race Parts qualifying with a 15.020 in group A and Larry Harrod of Plains, GA., in group B at 15.181.

Mark Whitener of Middleburg, FL came in second place after starting 16th, third to 2018 Southern All Stars Champion Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., fourth to Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., who is back with the series and looking to break his title championship tie with Clint Smith finished fourth and finishing in fifth place was Joseph Joiner of Milton, FL.

Finishing in sixth place was J R Moseley, seventh to Zach Leonhardi, eighth place to J C Wilson, ninth place to Mark Dodson and tenth to Russell Flynn.

RACE TIDBITS: Southern All Stars presented the champion Jay Scott along with runner up Mark Dodson, trophies, jackets and products certificates for the 2018 and welcomed new racers into the series championship run with J R Moseley, Zach Leonhardi, Andrew Littleton, David Breazeale, Billy Franklin and Austin Arnold.

Casey Roberts Back In Victory Lane At Southern Raceway Bash At The Beach

RACE RECAP: MILTON, FL--The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Max Fab ran race number two Saturday night at Tom Lowry’s Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.,the 3rd Annual Bash at the Beach and Casey Roberts picked up where he left off two years ago and was back in victory lane taking the $7,000 in the 60 lap feature. Two years ago Roberts swept the weekend and this year with the doubleheader he said driver error played into the Friday night finish, so he just parked it to save his car and be ready for the next night. The plan worked as he led all 60 laps but it was not easy as Neil Baggett and David Breazeale all made a run at him with nothing to show for it.

David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS., finished second, Friday night winner Neil Baggett of Columbus, MS., third, fourth to Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., fourth and fifth to Zach Leonhardi of Emerson, GA.

Finishing in sixth place was Ryan Crane, seventh to J R Moseley, eighth place to J C Wilson, ninth place to Joseph Joiner and tenth to Billy Franklin.

RACE TIDBITS: Baggett, Hickman, Joiner, Leonhardi, Moseley and JC Wilson all these drivers finished in the top ten in both nights of the Bash at the Beach. The series will return to the gulf coast track on Saturday & Sunday August 31st & September 1st for a pair of events paying $4,000 & $5,000 to win.
