Southern All Star Sanctioned Ginger Owens March Madness March 24th At Cherokee Speedway The race is named after the long time scorer Ginger Owens who scored for many of the touring series in the area and was known by the fans and competitors alike. Ginger lost her battle with cancer and so the series and track officials decided to honor her by naming this race after her. The Southern All Stars got there season off to a good start last weekend at the Southern Raceway in Milton. FL., as Neil Baggett and Casey Roberts took the wins at the 3rd Annual Bash at the Beach. The Cherokee Speedway race will be the third sanctioned race of the season with Neil Baggett of Columbus, MS., holding the points start the 2019 season with four time champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., in the second spot, current Cruise with the Champion.Dirtondirt.com Rookie of the Year Zach Leonhardi of Emerson, GA., in the third spot, another rookie J R Moseley of Columbus, GA., fourth place and defending Southern All Star Champion Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., fifth place in points. All these drivers are expected to be in action at Cherokee. Other drivers that are expe3cted to be in action include David Breazeale of Four Corners, MS., Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA., Andrew Littleton of Dalton, GA., Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS., Billy Franklin of Calera, AL., and Austin Arnold of Kosciusko MS. The race itself will be another one of the Southern All Star events that is action packed as the feature will be 60 laps, along with SUNOCO Race Fuels/Knowles Race Parts qualifying, Hoosier Racing Tires qualifying heats; PPM Racing Products B Main will all be part of the action. Saturday March 23rd will feature and open practice. Sunday afternoon March 24th, pits gates are opening at 10 am drivers meeting at 12:30 and hit laps to follow.
