Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series $40,000 Weekend At Smoky Mt & Talladega
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by MaxFab will have it’s first doubleheader of the 2019 season this coming weekend April 26th & 27th with $40,000 on the line between the two events at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, TN., and the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Friday night the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series will be at the Smoky Mt Speedway for Rockin with the Stars a 40 lap $5,000 to win event along with the USCS Sprint cars which should make for a great night of racing as well as the local sportsman class in action. This will be race #4 for the series in 2019 and first of two visits to the newly reconfigured east Tennessee oval. Winners as least years Southern All Star races were Tommy Kerr, Michael Chilton and Shannon Buckingham.
Then on Saturday night the series will head south to the Talladega Short Tack for a 40 lap $4,000 to win event on the Annual NASCAR Weekend. This is always a high profile event as many drivers from across the region will be in action and you never know who will show up to watch these races with all the NASCAR action going on across the street. Last year winners as Talladega were Austin Horton, Michael Page, and Jackson Hale.
The Southern All Star points leaders is Riley Hickman of David Breazeale, current rookie leader Zach Leonhardi, defending champion Jay Scott and Andrew Littleton round out the top five in series points.
