Southern All Stars Make First Of Three Stops AT Thunderhill Raceway May 13th

FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Star Dirt Racing series will be in action this Saturday night May 13th at the Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN., for a 40 lap $4,000 to win event along with a full racing program at the high banked ¼ clay oval.

This will be the first of three super late models events that are scheduled at the track this season with series and the series would personally like to thank track promoter Ricky Spurgeon for allowing us to be a part of his super late model shows that he has schedule for the 2017.

The 2016 races at Thunderhill saw Lawrenceburg, TN., driver Mark Fields score his first Southern All Star win in front of a packed hometown crowd, then the second trip the series made to the track   Josh Putnam of Florence, AL., scored the win.  What is ironic about this is that Mark Fields has asked Josh Putnam to drive his car for this race at Thunderhill.

Southern All Stars point’s leader Bo Shirley of Gadsden, AL., is in pursuit of his first championship and was in control of the spring race in 2016 until a transmission broke ending his night.  Shirley has just a six point lead over the second place driver Austin Horton of Newnan, GA., who is also the leading contender for rookie of the year, T J Reaid of Acworth, GA., in his first full year of touring with the series is third even after his accident at Talladega Short Track last weekend.  Fourth place is another rookie to the series and tour racing and that is Tristan Sealy of Moultrie, GA., he will also be seeing Thunderhill for the first time.  Many west Tennessee race fans will be pulling for Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., who is sixth in series standings.  Another popular middle Tennessee racer running the series is Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., who had to miss two events due to a crash and waiting on new car as he is eighth in points.  These drivers along with Dane Dacus of Lakeland, TN., Todd Morrow of East Ridge, TN., and four time Southern All Star Champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., are expected to be in action at Thunderhill along with many more drivers from across the area.

Pit gates will open at 3pm with hot laps set for 6:30 pm.

Tire rules for this event will be Hoosier 1350/1600/70
