Governor’s Cup Next Stop For Southern All Stars At Talladega Short Track
FAYETTEVILLE, TN—The Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series presented by Max Fab next evert will be the 1st Annual Governors Cup at the Talladega Short Track Saturday night August 11th that will pay $10,000 to the winner of the 60 lap super late model event and will be the biggest super late model race at the track since 2008.
Jay Scott of Fayetteville, TN., will lead the Southern All Stars drivers into the 10th race of the season after the vent at Blur Ridge Motorsports Park in Georgia was rained out last weekend. Mark Dodson o Caledonia, MS., is in the second spot with Ray McElhiney of Pulaski, TN., Brad Skinner of Spring Hill, TN., and Eric Hickerson of Linden, TN., all in the top five in series standings and is expected to be in action this weekend.
Other drivers that are expected to be in action include four time Southern All Stars champion Riley Hickman of Ooltewah, TN., Joseph Faulkner of Flintville, TN., Kenny Collins of Colbert, GA., Jadon Frame of Decherd, TN., Michael Page of Douglasville, GA., Tommy Taylor of Lascassas, TN., 2017 Southern All Star Champion Austin Horton of Newnan, GA., Jason Hiett of Oxford, AL., Ross Bailes of Clover, SC., Casey Roberts of Toccoa, GA., four time Southern All Star Champion Clint Smith of Senoia, GA., plus many more local and regional stars form across the area.
There will also be a full racing program with the all the Talladega Short Track divisions as well as SUNOCO Race Fuels qualifying, Hoosier Racing Tires Heats, PPM Racing Products B Mains and the 60 lap main event.
This will be on the biggest nights at Talladega Short Track this year so come and see some great dirt track racing.
