FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The team kicked off their busy week on Tuesday at Plymouth (Ind.) Speedway. Brian set the overall fast time of the 31 entries and won his heat race to earn the third starting position for the $5,000-to-win main event. After a night off, Shirley followed the DIRTcar Summer Nationals to Spoon River Speedway in Banner, Ill. on Thursday. Brian picked up a heat race win to lock into the second starting spot for the $5,000-to-win feature. On Friday night, the action shifted to Farmer City Raceway with the winner’s share increased to $10,000. Winning his preliminary heat race, Brian earned the pole position for the night’s A-Main. Highland (Ill.) Speedway was the destination on Saturday night. A second place run in his heat race positioned Brian starting seventh in the $10,000-to-win feature. Brian was in the mix of the Top-5 throughout the race before crossing the finish line in sixth. Following a night off, the DIRTcar Summer Nationals continues on Tuesday at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway. From there, the tour travels to Springfield (Mo.) Raceway on Thursday. Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. will host the Summer Nationals on Friday before a doubleheader at Clarksville (Tenn.) Speedway closes out the weekend on Saturday-Sunday. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE “This is all so surreal for me,” Sheppard said of his latest in a long line of accomplishments. “I was a kid that grew up at Macon, Farmer City, Lincoln, Jacksonville; and now I’m out here on the road living the dream. Mark [Richards] picked me up and gave me this opportunity to get the experienced I needed at tracks all over the country and that is what got us here to be as consistent as we are. I’m just having a ton of fun. In my opinion, we can’t go to enough races right now. Let’s keep going!” Continuing the WoO Late Model Series Northern Swing, the tour invaded Gondik Law Speedway in Superior, Wis. on Tuesday. Sheppard timed in fourth and powered to a heat race win to earn a spot in the redraw. “I was kind of watching the scoreboard just to see who was back there,” Sheppard noted speaking of his challengers. “I knew once Cade got to second and Jimmy was third, that I needed to stay on top of my game. I knew they were gonna be there when it came down to it. It’s definitely nice to to know we hold those two guys off, especially in this type of condition which isn’t really my style.” “I like to think I can run on all conditions, but this is definitely one of the tougher ones for me as a driver as slick as this track was,” spoke Sheppard on the track conditions. “They told me it would get black by the end of the night and we’d race all over it, and that’s exactly what happened. It was kind of hard to maneuver around and pass cars, but I was getting through lap traffic okay for awhile. We had a really great car though. It helps when you qualify good and win your heat, I think that was the key for us again.” On Saturday, Rocket1 Racing traveled to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. Another solid start saw Sheppard post QuickTime in his qualifying group and charge to a heat race win before drawing the fourth starting spot for the A-Main. Capitalizing in lap traffic, Sheppard snuck by Ricky Weiss in the final two circuits to secure the second spot behind race winner, Darrell Lanigan. Weiss finished third with Chase Junghans and Ashton Winger rounding out the Top-5 finishers. After being postponed from Friday night because of severe weather, River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, N.D. hosted the WoO Late Model Series on Sunday. Brandon was the top qualifier of the night and picked up a heat race win, sending him to the redraw. “The way track was I was glad that we were getting to lap traffic, because I knew that was probably the only way I could get around him,” Sheppard said on tracking down Weiss. “This place relies so heavily on momentum. Until lap traffic slows us down, you’re kind of married to a momentum line. Once we got there I could run the top, run the bottom, feel out where I needed to be and where I could pass him at. He kept guarding the bottom after I showed him a nose and then those lap cars went down low that one lap and left me a lane up high; and I just sent it off in there and it stuck.” Rocket1 Racing continues to lead the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series Championship Standings. The team will travel south this week to compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. The action gets underway on Thursday with The Dirt Track Bank Go 50, paying $12,000-to-win. Friday includes preliminary events for the 10th Annual Silver Dollar Nationals. The weekend culminates on Saturday with a $53,000-to-win finale. To learn more about these events, please visit www.LucasDirt.com. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(July 20, 2020) - Roger Crockett rebounded from a tough start to the night last Friday at U.S. 36 Raceway. "I drew the biggest pill they have and the track was really, really wet to start the night," he said. "It was super greasy in hot laps and the same thing in the heat race. You're pulling three or four tearoffs a lap. We were quite a bit faster than the cars ahead of us, but there wasn't an opportunity to pass someone without driving through them." Crockett advanced a position to finish fifth in a heat race. That lined him up on the pole of the B Main, which he won to transfer into the back of the main event. "I about got wiped out and lost a spot," he said. "Then I spent too long trying to get by that car, probably five or six laps. From there we started moving forward. We got to fifth coming to the white flag, but it didn't hold and we ended up sixth. "We were in traffic the entire race and our lap times were good enough to compete. It was all about track position." Crockett hustled from 17th to sixth in the feature. It earned him the Hard Charger Award for passing the most cars. "It's good because we're starting to do things you have to do to be a championship contender," he said. "We've drawn high frequently this year and have been able to move forward. This is only the second B Main we've had to run from not getting through the heat race. Coming from the B Main to sixth in the feature was pretty good." Crockett is unsure when and where his next race will be as the ASCS National Tour is sidelined until the 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, Aug. 6-8. (July 20, 2020) - Derek Hagar captured a runner-up result with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour a week ago Saturday during an event hosted by Riverside International Speedway. Hagar began the night by maneuvering from fifth to second place in a heat race, which earned him a spot into the feature redraw. "It was a good first night out in our car," he said. "We had a good heat race and made the redraw, which is always the goal to start each night." Hagar pulled the No. 2 to line up on the outside of the front row for the 30-lap main event. "Harli (White) got the jump on us," he said. "She about spun out and we got by her. Then I got hung up behind a car and she got back around us. It was going to be a heck of a race in traffic, but the yellow came out. Once she got clean air we didn't have anything for her." Hagar took the lead on Lap 3 and led the following four laps before dropping to second. He spent the remainder of the race within striking distance of the leader, but ultimately settled for a second-place showing. It marked his first podium in limited starts with the ASCS National Tour since September 2018. "We should have had a little more gear," he said. "I couldn't run the bottom. I had to stay up a little higher on the track to keep the motor wound up." Hagar plans on returning to action this Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., with the ASCS Mid-South Region. The Sams LaMountain Racing driver placed third in a heat race and seventh in the main event during his debut at the high-banked oval in Osborn, Mo. "We started off pretty good," he said. "In the heat race we went into the first corner and all got bunched together. I ended up on the short end of that stick and we finished third in the heat. "We got the car to hook up really good in the main event. I was in fifth when a red flag came out so I had to go back two spots because we didn't complete the lap. It was definitely one of the best nights we've had this year. We ran a new frame. I felt like we made a good decision on the shock package, too. I was able to drive the car in a lot deeper and come off a lot harder than my competitors." The strong performance moved Sams III up to eighth in the championship standings. The team ventured to Knoxville Raceway on Saturday. "The car felt pretty stable in hot laps, but it was super loose in qualifying," he said. "Come to find out we had a tire issue. That put us way behind in points." Sams III battled to overcome the qualifying woes as he advanced from 11 th to seventh in a heat race, from seventh to third in the C Main and from 19th to 13th in the B Main. "The car had a lot more speed each time we hit the track, but we started too far back without enough time to make the main event," he said. "We definitely made a lot of progress. It was unlike any other track. It took some adapting to get used to, but every time I hit the track I got more comfortable. The car and myself were faster all together by the end of the night." Sams III plans on returning to Knoxville Raceway this Saturday to gain more experience. QUICK RESULTS - July 17 - U.S. 36 Raceway in Osborn, Mo. - Heat race: 3 (2); Feature: 7 (13).
