Morgan Bagley Conquers CCSDS Super Late Model Action at The Ridge
Looks Ahead to Texas Dirt Nationals

LONGVIEW, Tex. (09/07/21) – Morgan Bagley made a late-race charge to a $3,000 victory on Friday night his P&W Sales No. 14m GottaRace.com / Day Motor Sports/ Rocket Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Bagley’s first win of the season came in COMP Cams Super Dirt Series action at Arkansas’ Crowley’s Ridge Raceway.

“I feel like we should’ve had more than one win by now, but there’s probably a lot of guys saying that. We won this same race back in 2019, so I guess there’s just something about this track that fits my driving style. I feel like our car's had some speed and we just haven't been able to be in the right spots to catch the right breaks to take the opportunities to win races," said Bagley, who is 2-for-2 in career trips to Crowley's Ridge. " I hope this isn't a one-time deal and we can win some more."

Lifting his lid on a Labor Day weekend with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS), Morgan Bagley invaded Crowley’s Ridge Raceway (Paragould, Ark.) on Friday afternoon for the Labor Day Classic. With 28 Late Models entered, Bagley gained two spots in his heat race to finish second.

Starting the feature in seventh, Morgan tracked down race-leader B.J. Robinson with 10 circuits remaining amid lapped-traffic and went on to capture his first win of the season and a $3,000 prize. He took the checkers ahead of Robinson, Logan Martin, Mason Oberkramer, and Billy Moyer Jr. to record his fifth CCSDS victory.

The following night at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Miss.) for the second round of the Labor Day Classic, Morgan scored a third-place finish in his heat race, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $3,000 on the line, Bagley passed three cars in the 30-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He followed B.J. Robinson, Neil Baggett, and Billy Moyer Jr. across the line.

Sunday’s finale at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Miss.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Morgan continues to sit fifth in the latest CCSDS point standings. Full results from these events, please visit www.COMPDirt.com .

The Texas racer will be idle this weekend before entering a mega show in his home state on September 17-18 as he travels to the Dirt Track at Texas Motor Speedway (Justin, Texas) for the inaugural Texas Dirt Nationals. The program posts a $10,000 winner’s check on Friday and a $50,000 top prize on Saturday.

Full event details are available at www.RaceXR.com .

Morgan Bagley would like to thank all of his sponsors, which include P&W Sales (Oil Field Manufacturers Rep.), P&W Iron Works, GottaRace.com, Day Motor Sports, Bert Transmission, Frankland Rear-End, Arizona Sports Shirts, Racing Optics, Sunoco Race Fuels, Barnes Systems, MSD, STP, Wiles Racing, Integra Racing Shocks, Midwest Sheet Metal, FK Rod Ends, JE Pistons, J&J Motorsports, Hypercoils, Outerwears Performance Products, Wilwood, JCT Auto Sales, K&N Filters, Joe’s Racing Products, Armor All, COMP Cams, XS Power, Hoosier Tire Southwest, Wrisco Aluminum, TWM Racing Products, Quickcar Racing Products, Performance Race Engineering, Keyser Manufacturing, Midwest Sheet Metal, Performance Race Engineering, and MSR Mafia Marketing Services.

Dominic Scelzi Wins Louie Vermeil Classic Opener at Silver Dollar Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - CHICO, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2021) - Momentum is clearly on Dominic Scelzi's side as he closes in on his first career King of the West-NARC Fujitsu Series championship.

Scelzi earned another win and two more podiums last weekend during the Louie Vermeil Classic doubleheader at Silver Dollar Speedway to increase his lead in the championship standings thanks to eight podiums in a row with the series.

"We're running really well and focusing on winning races the rest of this season," he said. "I think that's paying off. We were really good in Chico last weekend."

Scelzi qualified 12th quickest last Saturday before he won a heat race after lining up on the outside of the front row. He continued to take advantage of track position the remainder of the night, winning the dash from second and the main event from the pole.

"The first night we didn't qualify great, but we won the heat race and that lined us up on the outside of the front row of the dash," he said. "We were able to win the dash to start on the pole for the feature. The track was right around the bottom. We were able to get the lead on the start and ride off into the sunset."

Scelzi led the distance to score his fifth series victory of the season and 18th overall win in 2021.

Sunday's weekend finale began with Scelzi timing in ninth quickest overall. He again won a heat race, but this time narrowly missed out on making the dash. That started him on the inside of the fourth row for the main event.

"To be honest I felt really good," he said. "The track was slick and wide. We got to fourth pretty quick and then got into third. We had passed both (Justin) Sanders and (Kyle) Hirst for second, but a yellow negated a pass on Sanders. We got racing with Kyle and he got back by us. I felt we were every bit as good as first and second, but we ended up settling for third."

Scelzi's third-place result was his 39th top five of the season.

The team plans to race four times at Silver Dollar Speedway this week. It begins on Wednesday with 360ci sprint car competition prior to World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series action on Friday and Saturday during the Gold Cup Race of Champions. Scelzi will also be in action in his 360 sprint car on Saturday.

Williamson Hustles to Podium Performances at Pair of Missouri Ovals

Inside Line Promotions - ELDON, Mo. (Sept. 7, 2021) - Garet Williamson produced one of his most successful weekends of the season as he guided two different race teams to podium result.

Williamson made the most of his first-ever opportunity to pilot Scott Bonar's No. 50 sprint car last Friday at Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Mo. Williamson advanced from second to win a heat race, from fourth to third place in the dash and from fourth to second in the Sprint Invaders A Main.

"It was pretty cool and was neat to have that happen for the first time," he said. "We relaxed and had a fun night. Coming to the last lap I got within five car lengths of the leader, but it was too little too late. We got to traffic too late in the race."

The strong weekend continued on Sunday at Lake Ozark Speedway, where Williamson returned to the Bryant Paver Motorsports No. 24 for a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour race.

"We've been fast there all year, but hadn't had the results to show for it," he said. "We drew on the front row for our heat race, but I didn't win it so that hurt us. We ended up starting ninth."

Williamson's runner-up result in a heat race started him on the inside of the fifth row in the main event.

"We fell back to 15th or 16th," he said. "I was struggling to get by cars. We had a red and I was able to clear my mind. I started running a lot higher and above the ruts. It was really rolling for us pretty good."

Williamson's rally into a third-place result was his seventh podium run of the season.

"It was really nice to have a consistent run both nights and be on the podium each time," he said.

Williamson will take this weekend off before resuming competition Sept. 16-18 at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., during the Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
