Spencer Hughes Races to Runner-Up Finish in Henderson Motorsports Debut
MSCCS at Whynot Motorsports Park on Tap for this Saturday

Laurel, Mississippi (03/22/18) – 17-year-old racer Spencer Hughes made his debut with Henderson Motorsports on Saturday night in Southern All Star action at Florida’s Southern Raceway.

The talented young driver piloted the L&D Trucking #10 Longhorn Chassis by Weaver/ Cornett Thunder Racing Engine Super Late Model to a runner-up finish in the $5,000-to-win event.

“I would’ve loved to have gotten the win, but it was still a great debut with Henderson Motorsports. G.R. (Smith) was real good there in the feature, and we were just a little too tight, but we’ll tweak on it for next week,” Hughes said. “I just want to thank Henderson Motorsports, L&D Trucking, and L&D Scrap for this great opportunity.”

After Mother Nature wiped out Friday's opener, Spencer Hughes was one of 24 Super Late Models registered at Southern Raceway (Milton, Florida) on Saturday night, where he was piloting the Henderson Motorsports #10 Super Late Model in the Southern All Star-sanctioned Bash at the Beach.

Laying down the third-fastest time in his group in qualifying, Hughes earned the fifth-starting position for the main event. With $5,000 on the line, Hughes improved three spots in the 50-lap affair to place in the runner-up position behind G.R. Smith with J.R. Moseley, Joseph Joiner, and Kitt Sealy completing the Top-5 finishers.

This Saturday the team is slated to invade Rodney Wing’s “House of Hook” to compete with the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS). A $2,500 top prize will be on the line at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi). The 1/3-mile oval is a track, where Spencer has enjoyed considerable success in multiple divisions, so he hopes to be in contention for his first win with Henderson Motorsports.

Chad Simpson Eager to Start Emotional Silver Anniversary Season at LaSalle!

(MOUNT VERNON, IOWA)  When Chad Simpson jumps behind the wheel of his potent Brinkman Motorsports #25 Black Diamond Chassis next weekend at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois to the lift the lid on his 2018 campaign, he will be embarking on the start of his 25th season of racing!  Chad started racing go-karts in 1993 at the age of fourteen and later moved up to full-bodied stock cars in 2000.  Just four years later in 2004, Chad joined forces with current car owners Bud and Denise Brinkman and the team has racked up numerous special event wins - highlighted by a 2015 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series triumph at the storied Knoxville (IA) Raceway - and eleven series championships (6 Corn Belt Clash, 2 WDRL, 1 MLRA, 1 Indee Open, and 1 USRA)!

What will make this Silver Anniversary season for the Mount Vernon, Iowa native so emotional and bittersweet is that this will be the FINAL CHAPTER for Brinkman Motorsports.  While Chad's racing career is far from over, Bud and Denise have decided that 2018 will be the final year of car ownership and they will be selling out their equipment at the conclusion of the season.  According to Chad, "They have had a lot of fun at the racetrack over the years and enjoyed racing with me, but they are ready to do other things in life and I can't blame them."

"I appreciate everything they have done for my racing career and my family," Chad went on to say.  "Bud and Denise have given me all of the tools to succeed, so that our team could win races and championships.  They truly are great people and have a wonderful family and I can't thank them enough.  I am excited for this final season with Brinkman Motorsports - hopefully it's a memorable one - and then I'll focus on what the following years may bring, as I am currently looking for another opportunity to keep competing at a high level in this sport.  I am not done racing by any means and I want to reiterate that I am looking forward to racing for many years to come!"

Weather pending, the 2018 season opener for the #25 team will be on March 30-31 at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois.  For the first time ever, the Lucas Oil MLRA Series will preside over the 7th Annual 'Thaw Brawl,' which will kick off next Friday with a $5,000 to win shootout.  A huge 75-lap main event will then wrap up the two-day spectacular on Saturday at the 1/4-mile bullring and a whopping $15,000 payday will be on the line.  You can view Chad's full 2018 racing schedule by pointing your Internet browser to www.ChadSimpsonRacing.com.

In other news, Chad has officially registered for the 'Dirt Million' on August 24-25 at Mansfield Motor Speedway in Mansfield, Ohio.  Please visit https://www.dirtmillion.com/chadsimpson/ to purchase tickets, camping, merchandise, etc. for the 'Dirt Million' and help support the Brinkman Motorsports team.  Each dollar spent at checkout selecting Chad Simpson will earn him reward points and the top four drivers in the Driver Reward Points Rankings will receive provisionals into the 'Dirt Million' main event, which at this point will pay over $150,000 to win!  Chad appreciates your support!!!
