Adairsville, GA – Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series officials are pleased to announce that the next Touring Series event scheduled for Saturday, June 29th at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN will see an increased purse for the one-day event. The race will now pay $3,000 to the win, and $300 to each starter of the 40-lap event. After contacting the staff at Smoky Mountain Speedway and presenting the idea, an agreement was reached to make the change for the stand-alone event.

“We were actively searching for a Friday night partner event, but schedule changes and other factors came into play hindering our options, plus we kick off four straight days of racing just four days after the event at Smoky Mountain and the strain on most of the drivers, their cars, and crews made it more sensible to run one event with the increased payout,” stated Durrence Layne Racing Series Director Adam Stewart, “Casey Moses, Dustin Dunlap, and Roger Sellers are always great to work with, and they have really taken on the task of making Smoky Mountain Speedway the premier mega event track in East Tennessee with the upgrades and changes to the facility. We are excited to make our first of two stops in 2019 and can’t thank them for making this investment and ensuring the fans and competitors have the greatest show possible.”

The Durrence Layne Dirt Late Model Series will run in conjunction with the Iron-Man Super Late Models and Open Wheel Modifieds in the Annual Mountain Moonshine Classic. Pit Gates are scheduled to open at 2 P.M. and Grandstands and Tier Parking at 4 P.M. More information will be available as the event approaches, or visit the track’s official website at www.SmokyMountainSpeedway.com
