FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 13, 2021 Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals and Southern Nationals Schedules for 2021 Unveiled! (BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Series promoter Ray Cook is proud to unveil the 2021 version of both his Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series and Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series schedules today! After the entire schedule was wiped out in 2020 due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, the Spring Nationals returns in 2021 in a big way with a lucrative slate of events that will begin in exactly two months on Saturday, March 13 with the annual running of the $10,053 to win ‘Spring Thaw’ at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. The spring schedule currently consists of twelve dates at twelve different dirt venues across the states of Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia from March 13-May 31. Following the opener at “The Gap,” the tour schedule has a nice mix of new and familiar tracks for the cars and stars that choose to race on the Spring Nationals in 2021. New facilities that are scheduled to host their first series contest include I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee, Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia, and Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee, which will all host $10,053 to win programs. Tracks that have appeared on the spring slate and will return in 2021 include Volunteer (TN) Speedway, Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina, Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee, Crossville Speedway in Crossville, Tennessee, Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia, Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee, Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia, Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia, and 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tennessee. The 17th edition of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series will start with a $10,053 to win throwdown at a brand-new venue for the tour – the Beckley Motorsports Park in Mount Hope, West Virginia on Friday, July 16. As in the past, each of the twelve Southern Nationals races will take place at a different dirt oval, as the tour will snake through the states of West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Georgia, and North Carolina from July 16-31. A second new track for the tour will be West Georgia Speedway, as the Whitesburg, Georgia facility will hold a $4,053 to win show on Thursday, July 22 – the first sanctioned Super Late Model race in the history of the 3/8-mile Peach State oval! Aside from the new stops to Beckley and West Georgia, the Southern Nationals will roll into more familiar territory with events scheduled at Wythe (VA) Raceway, Volunteer (TN) Speedway, I-75 (TN) Raceway, Needmore Speedway in Norman Park, Georgia, Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Georgia, Rome (GA) Speedway, Tri-County (NC) Race Track, Boyd’s (GA) Speedway, 411 (TN) Motor Speedway, and Tazewell (TN) Speedway. A total of eight racetracks are on both the Spring Nationals and the Southern Nationals series schedules in 2021. “It’s been a long, drawn-out process to be able to come out with a schedule today, but I’m really happy with how both the Spring and the Southern Nationals turned out,” quoted Cook today. “With everything still going on with the coronavirus and then the two Bristol weekends that got announced late, we have had to reshuffle dates over and over. There are still some TBA’s on the spring schedule, but I think those dates will be secured very soon and we will be able to announce those in the near future – along with our Fall Nationals plans.” In addition to the release of the schedules, Ray is pleased to announce that the minimum winning purse for the two miniseries has been raised to $4,053 and that there will be a total of at least eleven $10,053 to win special events sprinkled through the schedules of both tours. The largest payday will come on Saturday, April 3, as the 'Bill Corum Memorial' at the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee will boast a $21,000 payday. Co-sanctioned with the Iron-Man Late Model Series, the inaugural event will be a part of the Spring Nationals and will shell out $1,000 just to start the 75-lap headliner. 2021 Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Schedule: 2021 Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Schedule: $4,053 to Win Events $5,053 to Win Events $10,053 to Win Events $21,000 to Win Event For more information on the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring/Southern Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels, please point your Internet browser to www.SouthernNationalsSeries.com or feel free to call series promoter Ray Cook at 828-360-5353.
