FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Southern Nationals and Spring Nationals Series Release 2017 Race Schedules By Chris Tilley, Series Publicist BRASSTOWN, NC (December 8, 2016)—Officials with the Southern Nationals Series, the Southern Nationals Bonus Series and the Spring Nationals Series have revealed their schedules for the 2017 Season during the annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Indianapolis, Ind. In addition to the schedule announcements, promoter Ray Cook has announced that Schaeffer’s Oil will be the title sponsor of all three tours beginning in 2017. Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. will become the co-presenting sponsors of all three race tours beginning in 2017. The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. two-week tour will be entering its 13th season. A new track on the schedule includes a Thursday July 20th stop to Senoia (Ga.) Raceway for a 35-lap and $3,500-to-win race. The Rebel Yell event at Screven Motor Speedway on July 22nd will feature a purse increase to $10,000-to-win. Three events pay $10,000-to-win on the 11-race tour. Tazewell Speedway is the only track to host an event every season for what will now be the 13th time. Devin Gilpin of Columbus, Ind. is the defending series champion. On the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V., which is entering its fourth full season of competition, the tour features 14 scheduled dates from March until November. The series returns to Richmond (Ky.) Raceway on May 20th as part of the Mike Roland Memorial paying $10,000-to-win. 201 Speedway will host their first event since 2015 with the running of the Bob Miller Memorial on June 30th paying $10,000-to-win. Florence Speedway joins the tour schedule for the first time. A $10,000-to-win and 50-lap event is scheduled for June 24th at Florence Speedway as part of a double-header weekend with Ponderosa Speedway in Kentucky. The series will co-sanction five events with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series in 2017. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. is the defending Bonus Series points champion.
