Southeastern Promoters Workshop Scheduled for January 24, 2020
Inaugural Gathering Focused on Promoting Tracks, Series & Businesses

Gatlinburg, Tennessee (12/27/19) – A brand-new, race promoter’s workshop will launch on January 24, 2020. Known as the Southeastern Promoters Workshop (SPW), the gathering will be held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

The primary focus of the one-day seminar is to bring promoters from tracks, series, and businesses together in one place in an effort to seek new avenues to promote future growth in racing.

“When Adam Stewart called me with the idea, I was immediately on board,” co-organizer, Ben Shelton notes. “I’ve been saying for a long time that our region of the country needs a promoter’s workshop, where folks can get together and actually put a face with a name. Not only will it give us all a chance to network, but also gives us all a platform to learn new ideas and approaches, so that we can do our part to help racing continue to grow and thrive.”

The opening breakfast will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. on Friday, January 24. The workshop kicks off at 9:00 a.m. before seeing a break for lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Resuming at 1:30 p.m. the presentations and discussions continue until 5:00 p.m., at which time a one-hour reception/ cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres is set to begin.

“I’m encouraging promoters from all tracks, series, and racing business to attend. One thing I want to make clear, is that while I’m the series director for Crate Racin’ USA, this is not a sales pitch session for our brand. Rather this is a chance for all series and tracks to come together to learn, talk, and engage with one another,” event co-organizer,” Adam Stewart shared. “For this reason, I’ve brought Ben Shelton in to mediate and help organize the workshop. He works with multiple divisions, events and sanctions in dirt track racing across North America and brings an impartiality to this workshop.

“The bottom line is that all of the key players in our sport have got to do a better job of working together and being forward-thinking with our promotions, if we hope to be around for many years to come. That’s the ultimate goal of this workshop.”

While presenters and topics are still being finalized, the workshop will include presentations on track prep, social media strategies, community involvement, technical inspection, race promotions, new technology, sponsorship strategies, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to come prepared to ask any-and-all questions to both presenters as well as fellow seminar attendees.
