Tyler Stevens Enjoys Successful Rookie Super Late Model Campaign
Already Planning for 2023 Season

SEARCY, Ark. (11/07/22) – Tyler Stevens recently concluded his 2022 season aboard his W&W Timber / James A. Rogers Excavating No. 2 Stallion Transportation Group / MB Customs / Mod Co Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The Arkansas racer enjoyed considerable success in his first year in the division. In 27 starts he collected three wins, eight Top-5 finishes, and 12 Top-10 finishes.

Included in his three COMP Cams Super Dirt Series victories were a $10,000 triumph in the Ronny Adams Memorial in March at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, La.) along with a pair of $6,000 wins during the 50th annual Louisiana State Championship.

“We learned a lot this year and far exceeded our expectations for our rookie season. We also took our lumps along the way, but we never gave up. With what we learned this year, we have a lot of notes to start next season with, and I think we could really accomplish some big things next year,” Stevens said. “My little team is very lucky to have some great marketing partners, and without their support there’s no way that we could do what we do. I want to thank each-and-every person who is allowing me to live my dream in Super Late Model racing.”

While the 2022 season has come to an end for Stevens, he’s already planning for the 2023 campaign.

“We’re already evaluating options for 2023. I’m not sure if we’ll follow any one tour or just bounce around to high-profile regional and national shows next year. Really everything is on the table for us, but the extent of what we do we’ll depend largely on the marketing partner support that we can secure for next season,” Stevens noted.

Anyone, who would like to become a part of TLP Motorsports for 2023 can reach Tyler at 501-322-1235 or tyler.stevens02@gmail.com .

“It was a great weekend for our team to get to know Hudson (O’Neal) better and for him to get a chance to work directly with us as we look ahead to a big 2023,” said Rocket1 Racing co-owner Mark Richards in regards to their debut together at the Dirt Track at Charlotte. “It’s hard to believe that the 2023 season will be here in basically two months. With the massive field of 70 Late Models divided into two groups, O’Neal stopped the clock second-fastest in his group before grabbing the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting the $15,000-to-win preliminary feature in 15th, Hudson worked his way into the top-10 by the halfway point of the 40-lapper but lost ground in the final five circuits to finish 13th.

For another round of prelims on Thursday afternoon, Hudson outdueled fellow front-row starter Dale McDowell in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. With $15,000 on the line in the feature, O’Neal inched forward one spot in the 40-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Tanner English, Shane Clanton, Chris Madden, and Mike Marlar across the line.

Receiving the second-starting position for the $25,000-to-win World Finals finale, Hudson set the pace for the first 27 circuits before surrendering the top spot to Jonathan Davenport.

Late in the race, O’Neal suffered body damage which relegated him to an eighth-place finish in the 50-lapper.

Jensen Ford and McCarter Brothers Racing Victorious at Duck River
Tennessee Racer Registers $5,000 Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series Win

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (11/07/22) Jensen Ford piloted the Jim Beeman Lumber / West End Package Store / McCarter Brothers Racing No. 83 Tennessee Homemade Wines / Parkway Liquor Store / MasterSbilt Race Car / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to the $5,000 victory on Friday night in the opening round of the Deep Fried 75 at Duck River Raceway Park.

The win was Ford’s first with McCarter Brothers Racing and his second overall of the season. Additionally, the triumph came in his debut at the Middle Tennessee bullring.

“I had never been to Duck River (Raceway Park) before, so I guess you could say maybe it worked in my favor that I didn’t have any bad habits there yet,” Ford laughed. “We had to hold off (Josh) Putnam late there in the going on Friday but our (Hoosier) 1600 (compound) came in real nice in the last few laps, and we got faster at the end and got the win. On Saturday night we were pretty good but a flat tire knocked us out of the feature.

“Overall, I’m really happy with how the weekend went, and it feels great to finally get the team a win. They’ve given me a great opportunity here, and we’ll continue to build on it.”

On Friday afternoon, Jensen Ford ventured to Duck River Raceway Park (Wheel, Tenn.) to pilot the McCarter Brothers Racing No. 83 Late Model for the 10th annual Deep Fried 75.

Drawing 29 Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series entries for the doubleheader weekend, Ford locked into the pole for the feature after topping the 29-car field in time trials with a blistering 12.681-second lap. Fending off Josh Putnam as he navigated through lapped-traffic, Jensen rolled to his second win of the season and his second career Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series triumph.

He earned a $4,000 payday ahead of Putnam, Frame, Michael Chilton, and Sam Seawright.

After Mother Nature postponed Saturday’s finale to Sunday, Jensen secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win Deep Fried 75 with the fifth-fastest qualifying effort. Rolling off fifth, Ford suffered flat left-rear tire following a lap-three restart that brought a disappointing end his weekend.

Full results from the weekend are available at www.IMdirt.net .

The team’s plans for the upcoming weekend tentatively include a trip to Senoia (Ga.) Raceway for the second annual Peach State Classic. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America doubleheader includes a $20,000-to-win program on Friday and a $53,053-to-win event on Saturday.

Mike Marlar Pockets $15,000 for WoO World Finals Opening Round Win
Senoia’s Peach State Classic Next on the Docket

WINFIELD, Tenn. (11/07/22) – Mike Marlar pushed his 2022-win total to 14 on Thursday night with a World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series victory in the opening round of the NGK NTK World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.

The $15,000 victory came aboard his Delk Equipment Sales / Tri-Rivers Enterprises No. 157 Can-Am Auto Salvage / Longhorn Chassis / Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Additionally, he added a fourth-place finish in Thursday’s $15,000-to-win prelim.

“On Wednesday night we had an absolute rocket ship in the feature, and I caught (Shane) Clanton there late and got to the lead. It’s rare to see a car drive from ninth to first in a 40 lapper anymore, but this thing was that good,” Marlar said. “We finished fourth on Thursday, and I thought we had a pretty good car again on Saturday but got collected in a wreck in the heat race that knocked us out.”

Mike Marlar entered the Delk Equipment Sales No. 157 Late Model into battle with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Wednesday afternoon at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) for the annual World Finals.

Drawing a stout field of 70 Late Models for the three-day event spanning over four days, Marlar followed up the eighth-fastest time in his group with a second-place showing in his heat race. Rolling off ninth for the feature, Mike was up to fifth by the halfway point of the 40-lapper and closed in on race-long pacesetter Shane Clanton as a caution with four laps remaining set up late race battle. Nosing ahead of Clanton coming out of turn four on lap 38, Marlar charged to his 14th win of the season and 13th career World of Outlaws triumph.

He pocketed a $15,000 payday ahead of Clanton, Trent Ivey, Brandon Overton, and Tim McCreadie.

For Thursday’s prelim, Mike outran Tyler Erb in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. With $15,000 on the line, Marlar clawed forward one spot in the 40-lap affair to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Tanner English, Shane Clanton, and Chris Madden to the checkers with Hudson O’Neal coming in fifth.

After a scheduled off day on Friday, Mike rolled off on the pole of his heat but was collected in an early tangle that sidelined him for the remainder of the weekend.

Full results from the weekend are available at www.WoOLMS.com .

The upcoming weekend – November 11-12 – has Marlar set to invade Senoia (Ga.) Raceway for the second annual Peach State Classic. The Castrol FloRacing Night in America weekend features two complete shows with a $20,000 winner’s check on the line Friday night and a $53,053-to-win finale on Saturday.

Mike sits fourth in the latest series standings.

Donny Schatz closes out 2022 World of Outlaws campaign with back-to-back World Finals victories

FINAL World of Outlaws Standings: 4th | 9042
Dates: November 2nd, 4th-5th
Event: World of Outlaws World Finals
Series: World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series
Track: The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, NC)
Donny Schatz A-Main Finishes (Start):
Wednesday: 26th | DNF
Friday: 1st (1st)
Saturday: 1st (3rd)

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (November 7, 2022) - It was a weekend to remember for Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing, and although they were forced to settle for a DNF to begin World of Outlaws World Finals competition at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, suffering from a flat on Wednesday, November 2, the team went on to rebound in a big way, ultimately scoring back-to-back World Finals victories on Friday and Saturday, November 4-5. The double win tally upped their Series total to five on the season.

Schatz, a ten-time World of Outlaws champion and ace of the Advance Auto Parts, Carquest, Ford Motor Company, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Digital Ally, Absolute Automation and Security, Hunt Brothers Pizza, Elliott’s Custom Trailers and Carts, No. 15 sprint car, accumulated a grand total of $40,000 in his back-to-back triumphs, earning his first ($15,000) from the pole, while battling ahead from third to accumulate his second consecutive.

In dramatic fashion, Schatz earned his fifth and final World of Outlaws victory of the season, a $25,000 payday, by surviving a late race restart with only two circuits remaining, forced to keep Sheldon Haudenschild and Gio Scelzi in his back pocket. Schatz took command of the 30-lapper just before the midpoint. Eventual Series champion Brad Sweet was the man in charge before the takeover.
It should be noted that Schatz opened the 2022 World of Outlaws season with a victory, as well; a DIRTcar Nationals win at Volusia Speedway Park in February. The Fargo, North Dakota, native is now the proud owner of 307 World of Outlaws victories.

“These guys are incredible considering what they’ve done the last couple of weeks,” Schatz said after a $40,000 weekend. “We went and tested a few weeks ago and found a lot of things. I think we’re back to the feel that we used to have and that showed this weekend. The World Finals were electric this year, what an awesome crowd. I can’t list all the partners we have here, but there are a ton and I’m glad we could win for them.”

Schatz will end the season fourth in the championship points – a $70,000 points fund payout – and hopes to return to contention for his 11th championship next year.

“I’m glad the season is over,” Schatz noted. “Even though you run like that and perform so well, everybody needs a break and these teams take a beating up and down the roads. We’ll do our best to continue this through the winter and into 2023. Hopefully we can race for a championship next year with these guys. We’re gonna make it hard on them next year. Congrats to Brad [Sweet] and his guys, though. It’s a great feeling winning these things.”

Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will begin their 2023 World of Outlaws campaign in February with the annual DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida.
