Colin Shipley Launches New Cyber Home
Prepares for Big Weekend at Merritt Speedway

WESTON, Ohio (08/06/20) – Up-and-coming Dirt Late Model driver, Colin Shipley is the latest addition to the MSR Mafia. A brand-new website has been launched for the 15-year-old at www.TeamShipleyRacing.com.

Colin pilots the Team Shipley Racing No. 44 Jim White Honda/ Rick’s Jerr-Dan Truck & Equipment/ Speed Shark Graphics/ Domination Race Cars Late Model.

The Weston, Ohio racer began his career in Karts before quickly stepping up to the Dirt Late Model ranks. He now has three years of experience under his belt and has already claimed 15 career victories in that time.

After quickly establishing himself as one of the sports rising young stars, Team Owner Matt Shipley decided it was time to step back from his driving duties to focus on building Colin’s career.

“After watching Colin over the last few years, I realized he is the future of the sport for our family,” Team Owner Matt Shipley said. “Don’t get me wrong, while I still love the thrill of strapping into a 900hp racecar, our resources just can’t accommodate two competitive racecar. We decided to focus on one car this year and have Colin drive. I’ve realized I truly enjoy watching him accomplish things in the car that meant so much to me as a driver.”

“It hasn’t been an easy road this year. We have traveled thousands of miles only to suffer fuel, electrical, and motor problems,” Shipley added. “But Colin has kept his head up and kept grinding. It’s crazy how you can drive for days, be frustrated with problems, but when you look back you will still remember it as a miserably great time. Our motto is ‘the path to success is to work harder than everyone else.”

This weekend – August 7-8 – will find Colin in action at Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Mich. The two-day extravaganza, featuring the Allstar Performance Late Model Challenge Series presented by American Ethanol, includes preliminary events on Friday for the 32nd Annual Ed VanDuinen Wood Tic. The weekend culminates on Saturday with a $10,000-to-win finale.

Bacon Sets Sail for Knoxville 360 Nationals & USAC Silver Crown this Weekend

Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (August 6, 2020) – Variety continues to be the spice of life for Brady Bacon.

Coming off the heels of a strong USAC Indiana Sprint Week, Bacon and the Fatheadz Hoffman Racing No. 69 Sprint Car are set to take in this weekend’s Knoxville 360 Nationals.

Returning to the track where he claimed the $20,000 Corn Belt Nationals payday just weeks ago, “The Macho Man” is set for Thursday night’s qualifying events before taking in Saturday’s finale.

Then, Bacon will make his way east to take in Sunday’s USAC Silver Crown “Bill Holland Classic” at Selinsgrove Speedway aboard the Klatt Enterprises No. 6.

Bacon makes his first winged 360-ci Sprint Car start of the year after narrowly missing out on a second Indiana Sprint Week title.

Bacon opened the week in strong fashion with a pair of podium finishes in the opening three-race stint of the week with finishes of second at Kokomo Speedway on July 24 and then third at Lawrenceburg Speedway the next night.

After a sixth-place finish at Terre Haute Speedway last Wednesday and then a series of weather-induced postponements and cancelations, Bacon went into Sunday’s night’s final feature at Haubstadt’s Tri-State Speedway with the title within his reaches only to suffer mechanical misfortune in the early going.

Bacon still has a third USAC Sprint Car title on the radar, sitting fourth in points and less than 100 markers out of the lead.

For this week though, Bacon shifts his focus to the half-mile ovals with a return to Knoxville and then the first Silver Crown outing of the year at Selinsgrove.

Reutzel Takes Aim at Knoxville 360 Nationals Crown

Lonnie Wheatley, CLUTE, Texas (August 6, 2020) – Aaron Reutzel and the Baughman-Reutzel Motorsports No. 87 Sprint Car team have reached Knoxville Raceway’s victory lane for the first time this season.

And they made it two times most recently with a second weekly 410-ci win on July 25.

Now, Reutzel and the Folkens Brothers Trucking/Dissolvalloy Downhole Revolution No. 87 Triple-X Sprint Car take aim at this weekend’s Knoxville 360 Nationals crown.

Reutzel was oh so close to snaring the win last year with a runner-up finish on his preliminary night and then a fourth-place finish in the Saturday night finale aboard the Precision Catalyst/Hollywood Blasting & Coating/Beard Equipment entry.

Currently leading the way in a quest for a third consecutive All Star Circuit of Champions title, Reutzel and the Nattress Construction/Momentum Racing Suspension team have taken advantage of a pair of idle weekends to work on the Knoxville package.

And it has paid off to the tune of a pair of wins among the 410-ci ranks on June 20 and July 25.  Reutzel enters the weekend with 11 overall wins already for the season.

After collecting the Ohio Sprint Speedweek championship last month, Reutzel and Fischer Body Shop Team will try add another crown jewel of 360-ci Sprint Car racing to the mantel after taking “King of 360’s” honors at Florida’s East Bay Raceway Park in February.

2020 Quick Stats:  54 races, 11 wins, 28 top-fives, 38 top-tens.

Next Up:  Knoxville 360 Nationals at Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway with Thursday qualifying night and Saturday finale.
